Why did Mack quit against Andrade?

To me he didnt look that much hurt, it was more like he didnt want to fight anymore or what?

Simply.

Fought the wrong fight. Instead of boxing he slugged and put too much into
his punches. Later on he gasses and takes too much punches from
Caveman

he just realised he could not win

This might sound like a simplistic way of looking at it, but Mack "quit" when he "quit" his gameplan. He should never have gone inside and tried to waste himself k.o.'ing Andrade. He gassed out and got lit up.

Yeah he got hit pretty good and went down, but got right back up. It seemed like a combination of him being off balanced coupled with a good shot. He really took bigger shots and many at the same time in the 4th or 5th round if I recall, and didn't even act fazed. Tough as steel is Andrade.

His defense is great!! What are you talking about??? He blocks everything with his face and it leaves openings on his opponent so he can counter effectively :-\

Andrade did pretty good body work on Mack. And I think that contributed to Mack's downfall. I remember Mack coming up. He was a good prospect. He has good skills. But he has poor stamina. And that will always hold him back unless he fixes it.

He never quit, he was getting the crap beat out of him and everyone knew if the ref never stopped it he would get badly hurt.

Andrade was coming on strong had laid the groundwork by investing in the body early and let the opponent no he was going to be there roughing him up all night.Mack felt he was nearing the end, no more to give and rather than get hurt and Knocked Out he submitted. Not a very-Gatti thing to do but its universally believed that smart fighters last longer than warriors.

Mack could have won that fight if he stayed on the outside and used his legs. Andrade has poor technique and would be lucky to become a world champion.

How many can survive the power,size and agression and rock solid heart and chin of Andrade which more than makes up for his lack of technique and sloppiness? Not many. Only the elite. He's a good barometer for others out there like Froch etc.

There's no point in bringing things like this up. Pavlik has been dropped by guys not as big or powerful as Andrade.Zuniga. And who has Zuniga ever beaten or knocked out of substance? It can work both ways ;) Pavlik would most likely beat Andrade,I'm just pointing out that your point can easily be reversed. ;)

Pavlik got dropped by a pretty good puncher 17 stoppages out of 20 wins is pretty good and at the time he fought Pavlik only 2 fighters went distance with Zuniga not including his loss to Santos and recently moved up to Supermiddleweight and dropped Victor Oganov for the first time in his career and also stopped him and Victor had 26 wins and 26 KO's thats alot better than being dropped by Yusaf Mack who only has 14 stoppages out of 23 wins.

All im saying is that Zuniga is a puncher Mack isn't.

Could have, but the fact is boxing intellect let him down, he got dragged into a fight that did not suit him stylistically and stopped him from winning. A truly great boxer prevents this from happening, fights his own fight and wins.

This may be is a late reply. Andrade went down during the first round. During the second round Mack showed signs of fatigue already. His knees were somewhat shaking. I don't know, but I was already predicting that Andrade will KO Mack after the second round.

JCC had about 90 fights of ring wars when he fought Frankie Randall Mick thats totally different and Edwin Rosario didn't get a chance to hurt JCC because JCC was all over him and gave him one of the worst beat downs i ever seen.
