I like Berto a lot and I think he will be a champ in the next few years and i like to see him fight Zab soon be a good fight to see how good he really is i think with his speed and power he will be able to get a UD or a late OK over Zab i love to hear peoples thoughts
I'm not a huge Berto fan yet, but he is just the kind of guy that will sh#twreck Zab in the later rounds. Too much pressure for Zab, and he'll fold up like a lawnchair and seek out lala land.
I know he is still green but i like him do not ask me why i see something special in him and cc for replying so quickly
I would like to see this fight, but it still might be a little too soon for Berto.
You throw a young prospect like Berto in with the wolves (Zab Judah) and it might ruin him for good.
Let him fight somebody like Margarito first. If he knocks Margarito out, then he might be ready for a guy of Zab Judah's caliber.
Margarito is the same if not better caliber then Zab i do not get you and Zab why do you like him so much Frozen i love to hear it i will not bad mouth it I just tell me why you like him so much and i will lay off it and never bother with it again
More like throwing Berto in with a puppy.... Zab is the perfect fight for him right now. Might actually be good for Zab to get embarassed by a new guy, then maybe he'll leave the ring. If he beats Zab then maybe he is ready for Margarito, maybe!! CC back 140Quote:

Says the fight was for the NABF title and was a eliminator for the WBC and the IBF title but i do not get that because both are held by different men with both having different fighters that they are going to face next so i am lost on that one

I don't think this can be good for Zab because no good can really come out of this. If he lose than i think his career would be pretty much done because he loss to a younger fighter that is still on the come up and he won't make much money off this fight, but if he win i got a feeling people might start to discredit Berto and say he wasn't that good anyway. Zab don't have that much left in my opinion and should try to get the biggest fights he can that will earn him the most money because he doesn't really want to fight no more anyway.
Does anyone know if the who Berto is going to fight because it is either Cintron or PBF and Berto needs some more ring time in my view if that is the case
FOr a fast guy I think Zab represents more of a problem than Margarito, but against anyone else Margarito is a tougher fight. Zab has good power, great reflexes, and speed as seen against MAyweather he can cause problems nobody else can.Quote:

Hey legion question do you know anything about who Berto was going to face after the eliminator because it says it was for the NABf title which i am not sure how low that title is but it said it was also a WBC and IBF eliminator do you know if he is going to fight Cintron or the winner of the Mayweather and Hatton fight because if so he needs a lot more fights because he not there yet that is what i am confused on
I have no idea; I just know Berto won't be getting in the ring with Floyd anytime soon, if ever. Once Floyd beats Hatton I suppose that would be realistic in some way. Cintron would be the most likely to fight Berto before those 2 though. Lots of guys to go into before he gets a shot at Floyd.
I really do not want him to fight Flyode because he is still green i just am lost at what is going on with the eliminator thing and for all i know PBF will retire again and say he is done boxing so maybe Berto may face someone else worse came to worse i rather him face Cintron
Maybe ice know and he can give me some feed back he keeps up with boxing pretty well he probable knows the answer if anyone does
Berto is not ready for elites or Even top notch "once weres" who are entering a graduale Opponent/Name stage of there career.
Hes top heavy,"leans heavy" forward and is all to willing to absorb punishment convinced he can power through foes and looks pretty flat footed at times.while Judahs been pieced back together like humpty dumpty a couple of times,I think he can do quite abit with that speed and experience against Berto,If he stays out of the trenches(unlike w/Cotto) he could win.
Dont get me wrong,Berto is a force and as tenacious as any prospect there is.He has brutal two fisted attacks and genuine fan appeal that will make or break him fast.He will immprove over time but Imo,I dont see him adding enough to stay ?? at the top.That said,I want to see him fight everytime.
Margarito would upperhook Berto Bukoo and Use that long power and likewise tenacity to wreck Berto If they meet anytime soon.

Let's be realistic here. Margarito poses more problems for Berto than Judah does. Margarito is so much bigger, stronger than, relentless, and has a much better chin than Judah. Estrada had no problems scoring against Berto-imagine what someone like Margarito will do to him. Judah, on the other hand, is a smaller welterweight, whose power at 147 is overrated, is easy to hit, and has no chin. Shit-that slow as hell Baldomir was able to tag Judah and Berto has hand speed. Berto would beat Judah faster than Cotto did.
Think fi he beat Zab he should go after Cintron i would bet on Berto to win that fight Margarito i am not sure but i would still like to see the fight and a Pual Williams fight to but for some reason i think Margarito would be a tougher fight then Williams but i still go with Berto i believe in him i will just have to see how on or off i am when judging his ablity i am sure i will find out soon enough
I just hope he fights some one good soon so he can see how good he is so maybe it will be Cintron
This is a thread i did a long time ago just wondering peoples thoughts on Berto from then i know Margarito is thought of in such a different way its funney how much changes in 15 months so i just wanted to know what people think and how much they have changed since then.
I dont think Berto is terribly good. There are half a dozen WW's better than him. A fight with Judah would be another good fight for him to take. I think it would be pretty even up until the 6th. Judah might fade down the stretch going on recent showings though.
Rep for the input i think Berto is still improving still young i think he has a chance against Cotto because he is open for uppercuts and has shaky stamina as far as Mosley goes i am not so sure about that i dont want the fight almost because i am big fan of Shane Mosley and I think that Mosley has a chance to beat Margarito if he fights the right kinda of fight. Margrito is Bertos worse nightmare style wise Berto better learn to stay focused and box or he while get knocked out in his best interest he better hope that Mosley beats Margarito but who knows only time while tell.

Berto is elite, he just beat an elite fighter.
Berto just needs to stop squaring up, and stop being caught on the inside between combinations, he either has to stay on the outside, and only be on the inside when he is throwing combinations ala RJJ then get out, or he has to have a defense first mentality, find the the rhythm in his opponents offensive and precede to counter them ala Mayweather, right now he is stuck between both styles and he gets hit a lot in those situations because of it, when he boxes from hte outside he is hard to hit, he lands at will, and he looks unstoppable, when he squares up on the inside with his hands cocked to throw, he looks like Jeff Lacy.
