Yea your right even though Calzaghe hasn't scored a KO since 1997 before he become champion and Hatton will give Mayweather a one sided beating your totally right since Hatton has faced alot of fast boxers in his career and Mayweather is also one of the most talented fighters ever and probably is one of the best defensive fighters of all time but still he won't give Hatton any trouble your totally right.

I seriously SERIOUSLY doubt that Hatton stops Floyd.
That might be wishful thinking on an overly anxious poster's part. ::**

His opinion, entitled to it. I dont agree, not many will, much in the same way that not many will feel the need to take the piss.

None of those guys are Hatton.
I thought it was an interesting comment because watching that fight again just made me realise Ricky has a MUCH better chance than I thought. And Ive been giving Hatton NO chance at all. ;)

Yeah and?
I couldn't give a shit about Larry Merchant. I used his comment about Chavez success against Mayweather because watching that fight it was a good one where Hatton is concerned. I was thinking along the same lines.
Hatton is bigger and better than Chavez. Hatton will attempt to win in a similar manner. Hatton just might do a lot better than i thought.

I said i disliked Naz at that age and when i grew older and learnt more about sport i disliked him even more and i knew he would lose i remember seeing Kelly vs Naz when i was young and that was the fight imo where Naz showed major flaws and i thought after that when Naz fights elite fighter he will lose big time and yes when i was young i thought Naz was all hype so what ?? can't i have my own opinion if im young whats so absurd about that ?? and wasn't i right and he was exposed by Barrera ??

Chavez was missing alot of his punches he was throwing about 90+ and 100+ punches a round and was landing very little percentage Mayweather broke up Chavez badly and the question is Hatton as effective as Welterweight ?? in his last fight at Welterweight against Collazo who was not really known fighter at that time Hatton was made to look average his punches didn't seem to have the power like they have at Lightwelterweight and he wasn't able to bully Collazo and also this was the first fast fighter Hatton had fought and Hatton didn't seem to deal with Collazo's speed that well and kept getting caught over and over i think Hatton will win some rounds against Mayweather based on workrate but overall Mayweather will break up Hatton and win UD imo.

No he has had all TKO's in his championship reign not KO's the last time Calzaghe KO someone was in 1997 against Tyler Hughes.

I was looking for positives for Hatton from the Chavez fight. And they are there. You keep saying that fight is a guide to the upcoming fight but I can see Hatton watching it and seeing the positives. That's all.
As for Collazo, Hatton had some good excuses for his poor performance, I wouldn't put too much stock in that fight.
And I believe Floyd will win too - by KO/TKO.

Re: HATTON to stop mayweather in 9 rounds
It would be awesome if Hatton were able to stop Mayweather. Awesome things dont happen all that often though.
I will have my fingers crossed for Ricky though. He will need to let it all hang out in this one.
The fight of a lifetime. Harder than Kostya by a very wide margin.

I think this will be quite a tough fight for Mayweather based on Hatton's workrate its always hard when a boxer doesn't give you time to think but all im saying is Mayweather has dealt with this before and is an improved fighter i expect Hatton to win rounds but Mayweather is too sharp too quick for Hatton and will win UD imo.

Re: HATTON to stop mayweather in 9 rounds
If Mayweather comes into this fight not fully focused, he will lose. Over the years I have seen this happen time and time again, boxers fall into other distractions and eventually get their collective a$$es handed to them. Once they become a celebrity, they start forgetting what got them there.
Even with all the natural talent in the world, if your head is not on straight, you will lose to another talented and determined fighter. Ricky is not as talented as Floyd, but he has real talent and he will be determined.
