Whoa! That is one angry Merchant.
Don't mess with Merchant while he is conducting his interviews.
He is going to come after Majesty next.
Be AFRAID Majesty, be very AFRAID!
;D
CC 4 da' post brotha'.
;)
SORRY LARRY MERCHANT IS SUCH A TWAT HE HAS PERIODS ????? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
When the elderly attack ;D
Merchant really is the man. Love him...he is a tool from time to time but the man has got some serious knowledge to back up his constant bitching & bullshit & without him involved in HBO boxing it would go down hill in my opinion.
Very few people know this, but after the cameras went off, Larry kicked that guy's ass with his left hand while simultaneously beating up Majesty with his right.
Well I must say; a much as I pick on Larry, I'd probably be the 1st one to b#tch about it if he wasn't there. I must admit I do look forward to seeing what will come flying out of his old croaker everytime he opens it. Sometimes nothing comes out and he has the proverbial deer in the headlight look, sometimes it's inspired. As much as he gets me annoyed, he'll always and any day be better than Kreepy Kellerman. I'd be happy if I never heard his creepy voice and have to look at his constant head bobbig again. Cool vid Gamo ;)
I also gotta say, that with the exception of Kellerman, im quite fond of the HBO team. Perhaps its just because i'm so used to hearing them, but they really bring a classic edge to the sport.
Larry Merchant is funny nuff said O0
I like Larry Merchant.
He's a funny guy and he knows his boxing.
me too,Quote:

But that video was hilarious! It really had me cracking up, Larry was pissed...see the rage in his eyes!? Then he was all suave afterwards and slicked back his hair after he threw the guy lol. Im going to watch that a few more times.
Exactly. Max Kellerman will follow. And that is a crying shame.Quote:

Merchant is an ass but that guy was a bigger one...nice to see some fight in the ole guy.
CC back DG.
Well he makes comments which are questionable every once in a while just as all of us do. People forget,he was once one of the top commentators and has been watching and learning about boxing longer than most of us have been alive. He knows his stuff. And he enjoys boxing fights,I've seen plenty where he is waxing lyrical about the boxing match, but in this day and age, where boxing has much more competition with regards to it's fanbase(mma etc) he just wants to see more excitement. If you're on HBO,you're there to win AND entertain. Fans aren't paying $50 for nothing. They want entertainment for their hard earned money. That's the other side of the coin anyway.Quote:

Roy Jones putting Larry Merchant in his place.

I don't think this is completely true.Quote:

Thanks el gamo
In most cases from what i've seen he disrespects fighters who are not brawling he comes out with nonsense like wake me up when the fight is over.Quote:

Truth is, that Merchant may very well appreciate a slow paced technical boxing match in his own right, but if a first time viewer tunes in to hear him praising fighters for what that person see's as boring, they are going to think, "yep, this is boxing, and I don't like it."Quote:

I have due respect for Merchant and what he has gifted to the sport but sometimes he comes off like the crazy gooky ol' codger sitting on his porch yelling at the paperboy.
If I had to pick, give me Merchant well over "I see ghost punches" Jim Lampley.Larry was also savage in his berating and bias against hopkins although not so much latley.
The man may talk slow, but he has some pent up agression. Lol, As bad as Larry can be, he has those moments that redeem him. I think this is one of them. CC Gamo for the hilarious clip.
CC's back Slacker and Lance.thankyou.
