Judah disses Alfonso Gomez.
"I don't even know who Alfonso Gomez is," Judah would respond to the challenge posed by Gomez. After informing Judah that Gomez was from the "Contender", Judah then replied by saying, "Ah...come on. I don't play with little kids. Tell him to do something then maybe we can do it [fight].”
What do you guys think about this? Has Judah been reduced to fighting a reality tv fighter? ;D
If Gomez can some how squeeze by Ben Tackie, would the boxing fans like to see Gomez/Judah? I personaly would love to see this. Judah is such a crazy starchild, there is always something funny or strange going on when Judah is involved. I think Gomez could get past Judah too. Gomez is a little something like Baldomir and you all seen what happend in that fight.

Gomez is the only Contender I like. You asked if Judah is reduced to fighting reality guys; I ask is Gomez{who I think is a quality fighter} reduced to fighting has-beens,lol??? I'd like to see the fight as I think it would be good for Gomez and when he beats Judah you can finally kiss Zab goodbye. Zab needs to stick with FNF's and he can do well.

Judah doesn't like pressure fighters no matter what skill level...Gomez defense is good enough too avoid a KO....Zab would quit in this fight, Gomez by 8 round TKO

I enjoy it when Jab wins and Loses ;D. He is like his own boxing Soap Opera, and his fights are usually entertaining.
I like to sit on the sidelines and just grin at his antics myself.

I think his mental strength has been eroded and he no longer truly belives he can win the big fights. Maybe he needs some softer opposition for a while instead of just trying for the big fights.
I still think that fights with guys like Margarito, Cintron, a Spinks rematch, maybe Hatton at 140 would all be very entertaining and competitive.
I've always found Zab entertaining to watch in the ring, irrespective of whether he wins or now.
I remember posting over a year ago that he was in danger of becoming the next Fernando Vargas, a whupping boy for the world's elite. Sadly that prediction has now come true, but he's still going to be an excellent gatekeeper to the truly elite level and I suspect guys such as Berto, Cintron, Williams and Margarito etc will have to come through him in order to be considered worthy of challenging the likes of Floyd, Cotto and Mosely.
And I still think he has one great performance left in him and a chance to get back in the mix.

Lets not get carried away here! Gomez beat Gatti yes. But this was a Gatti that I personally believe had the last bit of fight knocked out of him by Floyd and still took more beatings after and then that is the battered piece of meat Gomez got to fight. I am not that keen on Judah either and think he would be a lot more effective back at junior welter but to say Gomez would beat him is insane. Yes Baldomir beat him but i think that Zab massively underrated him and if he fought him again he would take an easy UD.

I totally agree but i see Floyd as the only man who can unify the division because i believe Mosley only has 2 or 3 fights left and in the world of boxing politics that isnt enough to unify a division. The problem with Floyd is he is more interested in making money than making boxing great again, and i think it would only be a matter of time before he went pursuing someone in another division and therefore miss a mandatory opponent and have to drop a title.

I don't see how you can not want to see fights like Berto vs Judah, Margarito vs Judah or Cintron vs Judah?
All of them great matchups, let's be honest Zab is rarely in a dull fight hence why HBO still love him.
He won't be getting a shot against Floyd, Cotto, Mosely or De La Hoya anytime soon but if he can win a couple lower key fights then he still becomes a big name, and exciting opponent for the likes of Berto, Collazo, Quintana, a crossroads fight with Margarito etc.
And I'd actually like to see a third fight with Cory Spinks. Considering Spinks usual level of competition when defending his titles, Rodney Jones for example, a third fight with Judah would be good business.

Judah is too small to go to 154 and it would be pointless for 1 fight and Spinks is too big for 147. Those fights you mentioned with Judah involved don't interest me apart from the Berto fight. There are far better fights out there for the names you mentioned(Cintron Williams Margarito can all fight each other and the winner of Cotto Mosley).
I just want to see Zab have to work his way up. He has gone past the point of getting title shots automtically and is in danger of being a punch bag if he persists in challenging better fighters/champions.

I dont think much of Gomez as a fighter, but hed stop Judah. Too stong and aggessive with a good workrate. Judah would win the first round though. I can understand why he doesnt play with kids though, he has no attention span.

Some of you guys are really pissing me off doubting Zab saying Gomez can beat him. You might think Judah is a has been, do not like him or whatever, but to say Gomez would beat him is f#@ken ridiculous!!! Zab don't even have to be at his best. Gomez is decent, but he would never be in the same class as Judah. Not now, not later, not ever.

Dissing Gomez is far beneath Judah. He's still a good fighter and he's going to be competitive for years to come. If he's going to be relevant again he needs to turn 180' and keep a hungry eye on bigger names on a very interesting welterweight division.
Stay hungry or be a bigger Sharmba Mitchell. And hope Ricky Hatton does well against Maywether.

Judah doesnt have problems with pressure fighters...he has problems with fighters who come to fight and hit him hard. We all know zabs chin aint great, one minute zab will look real impressive and once he gets tagged his game plan goes out the window. If he wanted to he could beat pressure fighters, its just he dont like being tagged. Its all coz of the tszyu fight. He doesnt want to be knocked out, so he goes into a shell and becomes gun shy. So basically if you wanna beat zab all you gotta do is, hang in there for a little bit and then just take the fight to him. Being a south paw he is vulnerable to that straight right, just watch what tszyu did. He threw it right down the middle and clocked him right on the chin. Tszyu had already had him going backwards after landing a right and then BAM good night. Being a pressure fighter certainly helps coz thats what they do, they come to fight and just keep walking forward. But any styled fighter can still beat zab, they just gotta set their punches up.

Everyone treats Zudah like he is their favorite whipping boy, including me. ;D I do not question his ability though.
I think he would beat Gomez easily. He is too skilled. I think a few fights with guys like Gomez would do wonders for him confidence wise, make people respect his ability again and get him right back into the championship mix.

Floyd accused Oscar of beating old men and Floyd has also accused Ricky Hatton of beating men past their prime but the truth is, Floyd has a grip of hasbeen's on his record too. For the record, Cotto does too (Cotto beat up guys Floyd was unable to stop) Those that went 12 rounds with Floyd were being knocked the phuk out by Cotto.
But Cotto does not claim to be the worlds best or the p4p king who disrespects legends such as Ray Leonard and Ray Robbinson.

I never said that Gatti was in his prime when Floyd fought him, all i said was that Floyd knocked the last bit of fight out of him. I mean taking that many clean hard shots would take a lot out of anyone. Another thing is ive never liked Floyd but to say that hes only fought has beens is just wrong. I mean he fought Castillo at his best got run close learned from it and came back and easily beat him second time round. Also he fought a good not quite in his prime but good De La Hoya and got a decision over him also. I think that he totally deserves his p4p status at the minute because apart from Oscar I cant think of anyone around today that has gone from superfeather to light middle winning titles all the way. The only point in Floyds career that i thought he was ducking anyone was in his brief spell at junior welter. This is due to his unwillingness to fight (an old) Kostya Tszyu. I think Tszyus devastating knockout over a prime Zab Judah contributed to this along with the fact that he dominated uncle Roger for 12 rounds.

I would pick Judah in a fight with Gomez, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gomez won. Judah is to sporadic with his performances and he is one of the most unfocused fighters I have ever seen at his talent level.

Danny, the difference between Floyd fighting "has beens" and Cotto fighting "has beens" is that Cotto was an up and coming fighter who fought those guys to gain experience. Floyd seems to be fighting them at a time in his career when he is already established as an all time great. Now that Cotto has passed that stage of apprenticeship, I would be surprised if he fought a "has been."
