I Just Watched Cintron vs Margarito Anyone Think Cintron Does Better In Rematch
I don't think he would Cintron hit Margarito clean and it didn't affect Margarito one bit i heard last month that this fight could happen in future if i was Cintron i would avoid the fight with Margarito at all costs because not only does Margarito have the chin to take Cintron's best shots he has the power to also take out Cintron.
-
Re: I Just Watched Cintron vs Margarito Anyone Think Cintron Does Better In Rematch
He'll get embarassed again, just like the 1st time. The only way he'll do better is if he doesn't quit this time or start crying again. I really look forward to this rematch if it happens. And Ice is right, Kermit the frog would do well to avoid this fight.
-
Re: I Just Watched Cintron vs Margarito Anyone Think Cintron Does Better In Rematch
Cintron is a much better fighter than he was the first time around. Kermit is being trained now by Manny Steward and Manny has turned him around completely. Cintron is jabbing and boxing more, using that size, and not going for the early KO. Cintron had no game plan after he hit Margarito was his best shots early on. Now, Cintron relies on more than just his power. If Margarito wins, it certainly wont be as easy as the first time around.

Re: I Just Watched Cintron vs Margarito Anyone Think Cintron Does Better In Rematch
i never seen thier first fight
but im stillthink toni got fucked in the williams fight
i seem to be on my own but every round williams won it was because he held when toni got close.

Williams did spoil alot but hey,it was a tactic to win. Margarito screwed himself by starting late,he gave the fight away imo.

I heard Cintron-Williams is close to set. For early next year

I have'nt heard...but I did read that it's close to being made.
That, IWO, will be a tuff fight for both men.
As for a Cintron Margarito rematch? No need...Margarito would scorch him again. I'm in the same vein as El Gamo...Margarito got beaten...but he could have upped it a bit against Williams.
Same outcome though as far as a Margarito Williams rematch. That jab or whatever the hell Williams calls that dialed in right...long & tuff to get around.
-
Re: I Just Watched Cintron vs Margarito Anyone Think Cintron Does Better In Rematch
I think Cintron would do slightly better this time around if they met. I think Margaritos gotten sloppy and his workrate sucks he starts too late, he just edged out the win against Clottey and with Williams he started even later.
I think Margarito wins by decision but this time Cintron fights thru it.

Give me a break, Williams outboxed Margarito, with speed and combinations.
-
Re: I Just Watched Cintron vs Margarito Anyone Think Cintron Does Better In Rema
The 1st time they fought, Cintron was coming off of a long period of inactivity due to hand surgery.
So my answer is yes, Cintron would do much better this time around.

Re: I Just Watched Cintron vs Margarito Anyone Think Cintron Does Better In Rematch
I think cintron has new focus but It wont matter vs. Margarito 2nd time around .A beat down like that can haunt a man for a looong time .This is in the back of Cintrons mind but also at the forefront of Margaritos Mind.I think its a More competitive match but ultimatly end the same In the late rounds for Margarito.

Yep, I figure the same. Cintron will try to impress in the early rounds but as soon as things don't go his way he'll fold imo. He got curred out big time with Tony and it will haunt him most likely. I kind of see Taylor going through the same thing in a rematch with Pavlik.

Have to agree Dude.I think This is a mental mind melt type of thing.Despite all of his crying afterward by Cintron In that case I dont think hes weak...I think He would Come back harder and throw caution to the wind when Tagged=Margaritos Tko imo.
I think Taylor will have a hard time coming back against pavlik,I dont think he can box any better vs Pavlik again and he sure as sh!! cant stand with him.

Taylor's gonna keep backing up as soon as Pavlik plants one of those straight piped rights into his face.

You know, that's a good point about Cintron being the more likely to beat Tony rather than Taylor beating PavMan. Taylor got k.o.'d and yeah that must suck and all, but Cintron was made to QUIT!! That sucks, lol!!! It will be interesting to see how Cintron does should they have a rematch.... he may be a possessed dude that does everything right. Lot of pride on the line in that fight, especially for Cintron. I think Kelly has Taylor's number, hopefully we'll see soon. I would think something will be said about a JT/Pav rematch soon or I'll start to wonder....

Good stuff from Kelly. I love the fact that Pavlik's such good people.
Somewhere out there there's a post fight interview with Taylor that's pretty good...he's givin respect & so is Manny. They don't sound to eager for a rematch as he was when he got out of the ring.

I'm not 100% sure about Pavlik having Taylor's number or not...but I do feel you on that.
I honestly think that Taylor's just not all there in the stability department. Mentally he's just going to be in shambles...especially if he watches the tape to catch him mistakes...as many as he does make.

Good point, Tony might beat Cintron worse because he gave up his "rep" and a chance for a big money fight with Cotto when he lost to Paul. So yeah, I see what you're saying. Poor Kermit :'( Well, Miss Piggy can always console him ;D

Piggy was not giving up that pork to Kermit For Nothing!!! Hey its Late 8)
Hey point blank...Margarito blew it.I think He came on to late vs. Rue paul and had him startled with the cut.Paul fights spastic at times..(falling over himself to get shots in) and gets hit ALOT more than relized.

Re: I Just Watched Cintron vs Margarito Anyone Think Cintron Does Better In Rema
Cintron simply unraveled when he got cut against Margarito. He fell apart right in front of our eyes.
If Manny can season him more he might be able to win, but that loss will always play on him. If Cintron can go out, win a title, beat a couple more top tier guys, he might develop a new mindset and have more mental toughness.
He has all the physical tools, but he was a discouraged and mentally beaten man in the Margarito fight. He could not do anything right against him so that will be one huge obstacle to overcome. He will not be able to look back and say I should have done more of this or that.
At least Taylor had his moments in the Pavlik fight. Something to build on.

He has the offensive skills that may carry him against other top welterweights. He needs tough fights, where he can get tested, perhaps even get off the floor. He was young and simply not ready for prime time when he fought Margarito. He has a heart, he did try but simply did not know how to deal with adversity. A good trainer can help him in that aspect. But I don't think we will ever see him fight margarito again.

Re: I Just Watched Cintron vs Margarito Anyone Think Cintron Does Better In Rematch
The Cintron that lost to Margarito that night is nowhere close to the Cintron that now fights under the tutelage of one Emanuel Steward. I think things would go a lot different in a rematch.

Re: I Just Watched Cintron vs Margarito Anyone Think Cintron Does Better In Rema
Margarito has the mental edge and the tools to beat Cintron again. I like Cintron and think he will do better than before, but Margarito has still looked as good as he did the first time he fought him. A close loss to Williams doesnt make him a damaged fighter, and a few decent wins for Cintron doesnt make him a bigger threat to Margarito than he was before.

agree Boom,I think being with sterward will benefit Cintron Greatly as he seems like a studied pupal.I see a great fight but with cintron going out on his shield and Margarito Maintaining a Formidable presence for other guys to watch out for.

Steward will definately benefit him. Cintron is the kind of fighter Steward can do wonders with. If Magarito fights him again it will be the best Cinton there is. This fight could actually be a winning situation for both guys cause I think theyd both make a good showing with Antonio coming through with the win.

Hopefully after this,IF it all works out,he can rematch Rue Paul this time starting early instead of mid round and really show how hitable Williams is .One Thing at a time though .CC Boom .

I think Margarito lost the mental edge he would've had over Cintron as well. Margarito has been unimpressive in his last two while Cintron has been on a nice little streak. That Matthysse KO was brutal to say the least. :o

I dont think you can lose a Mental edge by competing and going 3-1 in your last 4 with 3 of them being top ten world contenders.Williams fight was nip and tuck close to me.Cintron s Improved but Always consider the Competition.I hope it happens, great rematch.

True. But confidence has alot to do with being successful. When a fighter starts to doubt himself it can be trouble. I'm not saying Cintron would win this easily or anything. I'm just saying that right now Margarito has been on his way down while Cintron has been rising. This fight would be a pick'em if it happened tommorow IMO.

Fair enough dude,I just dont see how Margarito Has lost any Mental strength at all.I think the bigger question concerning self doubts is of Cintron and the way He lost..brutal.That can stick with a fighter much more deeply than losing a 2 or 3 point fight (Margarito).Cintron will have flashbacks about 1st fight when he looks across the ring.Hopefully we'll see this fight ;D
