whats up with baby bull calling out pac?
although i love the hype and i think the fight will be exciting, im just wondering why baby bull is calling on pac, who fights at superfeatherweight and yet he is not saying he would want to move down to fight pac there? IMO, if im calling a guy out, id go to him instead of him coming to me. what are your opinion guys?

Pac stated that he wanted to fight David Diaz & that he was ready to move up.
-
Re: whats up with baby bull calling out pac?
Well let's see Pacs been talking about moving up in weight cause he feels theres nothing left at Super Feather.
Oh! wait except for Valero whos the only worthy opponent... (Which I disagree with)
So if Pac has been talking about moving up and Juan is argueably the best in that division why not call on Pac?
Naz was the Feather champ, MAB was talking about moving up Naz called out MAB.
MAB moved up in weight and they fought.
I personally don't think it's something out of the ordinary for Juan to be calling out Pac. I think it's good and if they both really mean what they are saying then let's get it on. Make the fight happen.

BOB ARUM QUOTE: "Manny has told me he wants to go up to 135," Arum would say. "Now, I've been talking to Freddie Roach about that and if Freddie agrees - and I think he is agreeing - then we'd go to 135 and seek to capture a lightweight championship, probably against David Diaz."
If it's true that Pac wants to move up & make noise by conquering another division, why fwock with David Diaz when you could fight Juan & get 3 belts at once?
Do that & then go fight David Diaz...that equates to unification...but I still don't see why he would'nt want to unify HIS division first.
-
Re: whats up with baby bull calling out pac?
one at a time. David Diaz first, then, Juan.

Is Juan seen as the bigger threat or something?
Seems Pac has been having some Juan issues lately. ;D
Seriously though...it'd be silly to face David instead. If I were going to go up to a weight that I had not campaigned at...one that I might not be a shoe in to win at...I'd give it my all for all the marbles in hopes that if I did happen to smoke the man instead of getting smoked meself...the risk would be worth the reward.

Re: whats up with baby bull calling out pac?
pac should test the waters first at lightweight. taking on david diaz as a tune-up would be a good gauge of his chances against the top guys at 135. fighting a beltholder as a tune up is quite impressive if you ask me. i'm sure if he does well against david, a match against juan wouldn't be far off. pac did say after the juan diaz-suico fight that he knows how to beat diaz's style.
-
Re: whats up with baby bull calling out pac?
i never made a big deal before when he called out pac the first time since pac is a big draw and he will be making money fighting pac. tonight, during the interview larry merchant threw in casamayor's name in there and he ignored the whole thing and went right at calling out pac again. so if hes the best right now, having three belts, why doesnt he go and fight casamayor instead of calling out a guy in the lower weight class

pac ain't ducking nobody let alone anyjuans ;D
the only statements we've heard from pac is his willing to fight jmm if they can finally agree on a deal and his also willing to stay at 130 for valero, thats the only statement we have heard directly from pac. The 135 divions is the other one, but pac hasn't yet said who he would like to fight there. the David diaz comment didnt' come from pac, but I wouldn't mind david diaz first for pac at 135 becuase it is pacs first fight at the division.
I would love to see pac shut baby bull up, thats in the future for sure cause we all know pac don't duck nobody. his name is like the boogeymen you say it often enough you'll eventually be facing him infront of you ;)
so hold your horses wacko, you'll get what you want. baby bull will take his share of punishment from pac soon enough ;D

$$$ you answered you own question. $$$

Re: whats up with baby bull calling out pac?
If I were PAC's handlers I would choose fighters above his NATURAL weight/size that we know he can beat to get a title. IMO It's already a feat that a former flyweight moves up to beat even a tier two type lightweight guys like David Diaz.
Juan Diaz is a different animal obviously his much bigger and stronger than PAC and matches PAC's speed/punch output and possibly even stamina. If you want to see PAC hurt and lose this is one fight to watch.
I won't count out PAC that fast though, at 144 lbs fight night PAC looks more solid than a 141 lbs Juan Diaz taking into consideration Juan started as a welter and PAC a flyweight.

cc jules, although i don't share your confidence i'd still go with our boy pac against jd. juan really hasn't fought anyone who can match his stamina and punch output. it would be a matter of how well pac can take a punch or punches from a legitimate lightweight. but juan diaz really isn't much of a heavy hitter but one who swamps his opponent with pinpoint accurate combinations. i think manny rallies in the mid to late rounds to win a close decision if ever this fight happens. one thing for sure, it would be one hellova war!

its sad tho, fighters take the easier road for the money. that is just sad. go after the guy that you think you could beat and earn money there. its a common thing in boxing now. if i was pac, id fight them all. heck, everybody is fighting for money, why not join in.. ;D

CC you back Bro, I don't want to make it sound personal but it kinda sounds personal when Juan said something like fighting a younger mexican fighter since PAC has already beaten a great Mexican legend. It really sounds like a DESPERATE approach of looking for somebody to beat the hell out of PAC and they're actually naturally BIGGER guys. I guess we should call Juan Diaz. Juan "the Bully" Diaz >:mad

But common sense dictates that you fight somebody your size right and that is why weight classes are created, PAC has already jumped weight classes big time flyweight, bantam feather superfeather and now lightweight :o to top it off Juan Diaz is a former welter for Christ's sakes :(
PAC should beat Marquez and Valero first then I guess he can fight Juan Diaz IMO

Re: whats up with baby bull calling out pac?
If I was Pac I would retire. Why not? Millions of dollars and he could get fat like Toney. That is the dream. And he could dedicate all his time to losing elections, fighting chickens, and making silly music.

well actually why not?! he already retired 2 future hall of famers STEAMROLLED(beat them twice to boot) both of whom are supposedly naturally bigger than PAC himself ;)

Hey no offense Pavlik but why dont you all pick general names for the Saddo site, as you know that your loyatly should outlive any middlewieght fighters career.

Re: whats up with baby bull calling out pac?
I don't understand this dislike people are having with Pac moving up in weight and fighting guys in the divisions.
I doesn't make sense, you guys are saying that Pac would be fighting guys who are naturally bigger then him, well duh! that's why it's called moving up in weight.
Duran started off as a Bantamweight and fought as a Lightweight, Ligh Welterweight, Welterweight, Ligh Middleweight, Middleweight and so on.
I mean fighters move thru weight classes and fight it's what they do.
If Pac want's to be P4P #1 and he want's to cement his legacy even more then why not move up in yet another weight class and give it a go.
You guys should be supporting Pac. No one at Lightweight IMO even has a slight chance at beating Pac not Juan, not David nore Casamayor.
If anything all the big Pac fans should hope and pray that the Diazs and Casa take the bait and fight Pac. I think Pac beats all of them.
Possibly Casa giving him the closest fight but even then I think Pac wins it comfortably.

Re: whats up with baby bull calling out pac?
that makes it three with Pavlik. with pac going lightweight, boxing will never be the same again....... of course if he wins against DAvid, Juan, Julio and Casa. Don't you want that guys to happen?
Let's give boxing a chance to be the most exciting sports in history.... AGAIN.

That's what it's about man, the thrill and the rush as fan to know your going into the lions den and just going in firing on all cylinders.
How do you think I felt as ODLH fan knowing he was facing P4P #1 PBF and knowing he had a damn good chance of wining? Or how do you think ALL the Hatton fans are gonna feel come fight night? All those crazy chanting Hatton fans are rush seekers and they love it.
Believe man I'm starting to think Pac is some like experiment from somewhere man like hes not human or something. I don't know man the more I see Pac fight the more I believe that hes unstoppable.
Well as fans we gotta understand that you win some you loose some but you walk out with your head held high. It's not like Pac is undefeated I mean hes lost before and hes bounced back.
When you say a fight that he really doesn't need you mean he shouldn't move up in weight?
Also if you feel he doesn't need to fight at Lightweight period then do you feel that by Pac beating a young and IMO still greeen Champ. Valero it will be a fight he needs?
He doesn't need a belt the whole world knows hes the best Super Feather. Hes already established that, if theres a fight at Super Feather it's JMM but with all the politic talks already bubbling it seems likely that it wont happen. What he does need as I said is go for big move up in weight and beat the guys there at Lighweight I mean none of them are really Elite except for Casa but it'll look good on Pacs resume the same way PBF has skipped and jumped in and out of divisions fighting only the top guys and claiming champioship status that's what Pac can do here.

Totally agree with this post. I'd favour Manny over Juan as long as he carries his power, although I think the Casamayor fight is close(depending on how he looks v Santa Cruz_). If I were Manny,I'd fight JMM,maybe 1 other fight unless it's too hard to make weight then fight Diaz/Casamayor. I don't think there's any reason to fight David Diaz.

Sounds like you have a lot of faith in PAC Mick, As a PAC fan I really appreciate it.
by the way I just got this from PACLAND:

Manny would be better off fighting David first. David seems to be the weakest link in the Lightweight. PAcquaio needs to test the waters first. Fighting David would be good for pacquaio coz he needs a title right now to secure his legacy. If he wins over David then he can fight Juan and that would be more exciting. Champion vs champion. That's what you call business strategy.

He would get paid a lot more for Juan than David right now. The Baby Bull is a hot commodity, as far as the business side goes he'd prolly get paid more for fight Casamayor and the Juan if anything.

Manny doesn't have a title at 130 though? And I really don't think a win over David Diaz does anything to be honest.

It kills me that everyone on this site rates Casamayor so highly. I never have...he's just a bit too dirty for me likings for one thing...but I won't get into all that.
Honestly...I think Pac's fun to watch & great for boxing & all that & blah, blah, blah...but I just can't get into him as much as his "devoted fans" do.
He's beatable...that's been proven...but then again...so is everyone else.
I don't really understand how people think that he's so indestructable.
That being said...I don't know if Juan Diaz is the man to beat him or not...but if a boxer that has a good defense, sticks to his guns & pushes Pac with combos, & can box on the backfoot...it befuddles Pac. It's been done a few times. I would rate Juan's chances pretty high because he can do all of that & he throws a shitload of punches. Not so sure that he's strong enough to stop Pac...but I think he could win a decision based on his output alone.
Like I said...the only fight I really care about seeing Pac in is against Juan Manuel Marquez.
That's it for me. I need answers & results...win, lose, or draw...from both men.

Re: whats up with baby bull calling out pac?
Pacquaio is beatable but you can only beat him if you go toe to toe with him. That makes it exciting. Morales may have won against pacquaio before using some skills but that strategy won't work anymore against pacman. I believe that was the plan of Barrera. To fight Pacquaio outside. That's why he decided to run around during the last 2-3 rounds. Barrera can't simply defeat a Pacquaio who has defense and who is so fast. Technical skills won't win against Pacquaio anymore.
Pacquaio really is a fast learner. Second reason why he is so exciting. You don't know what he will bring to the table.

Ditto my man,the JMM fight is the 1 I want the most, the 1 that would tell us the most. Then a Juan fight. I've always thought Joel Casamayor was superbly skilled but I was always more of a Corrales fan. Cas has definitely been on the slide though,so I'm not sure,we'll have to see how he looks.

Totally agree with this. I think Juan does all the things to beat Pac but does he have the power? Will the 5 pounds make a difference? I'm not so sure.

Not sure where you got that from bro but I think a good slick boxer/counter puncher would give Manny alot of trouble. Going toe to toe isn't the only way to beat him..

Re: whats up with baby bull calling out pac?
Gamo, you know am an avid fan of Pacquaio. I feel it. That's why I am excited that pacquaio will go up in weight coz the only opponents who can win against Pacquaio are the ones who has the power to knock him out. Believe me, it's only valero who can win against Pacquaio in the superfeather. But Valero is still lacking in skills so he won't be prepared yet to fight Pac. Pacquaio needs a fighter who has the necessary skills and the POWER to knock him out. We can only find this necessary 'ingredients' in the lightweight division.
