You need 5 judges for a fight? Why that many, surely three is enough?

I reckon 3 judges, you pick one, your opponent picks one and the referee or championship organiser selects the third.

To give everyone a chance when I fight, I won't select a judge, I'll just act as a judge myself that way I'm combining fighting and judging together thus doubling my workload and making it harder for myself, but I've always been generous like that ;)

Who elects them though? To my mind there's probably only 6 people on Saddo's who are mentally competent enough to act as a judge and obviously I'm one of them so that means that every time I'm fighting I'm guaranteed to have at least one mong judging the fight which puts me at a clear disadvantage.

When you factor in that the referee will probably be one of the mentally able that means we are guaranteed 2 mong judges in every one of my fights :-\ :P

5 judges would be better but for convenience purpose, 3 judges will do. Debater1 will choose his judge and so is debater 2, third debater will be chosen by the President of MMWC. If possible these judges should PM each other and give the decision immediately, say 3-2, in favor of debater1. they should not try to convince each other to go for a debater. They don't need to explain to each other why a debater won as they might influence each other. After giving the decision, each of them needs to explain their decision in the same thread.

I believe MMWC should make its rules now while it is still in its start up period. I can volunteer to be one of the members of the committee on rules and regulations.

By the way,an existing champion and a contender should not be a judge in a debate in any weight division. The probability of implicit collusion is very high in there. For example, debater1 (with judge1 as a judge) is a also a judge in the fight of judge1. Of course, judge1 will favor debater1 or else he will get the ire of debater1 (who is a also a judge in the debate where judge1 is into).

I agree but this kind of contest will only have a few people interested in it so I guess we'll all have to double up judging and debating from time to time.

If you say now that you and Ice can never judge a fight, and neither JT Rock and Daxx after their contest, or me and Legion after ours etc pretty soon nobody will be qualifed to judge a contest. :o

I would be very busy this coming November and December and I'm currently not interested anymore with doing the rematch with ICB (at least for this year). I may engage in a debate next year but not sooner than February. For the meantime, if the debaters want it, I can volunteer to be one of the judges while we can't still find our 3 permanent judges.

Meaning, I will not be allowed to join fights until we find our 3 permanent judges. I'm willing coz I only love to read opinions and arguments but I hate writing my own. O0 It takes time to write opinions that are based on facts.

You can't be a judge as I already judged against you. If you were a permenant judge there'd always be the risk of unconscious bias in any of my fights. :-\ :D

I like to consider myself pretty objective and I think most Saddoites would agree so I'd love to judge, but I got a trip to Baghdad in my near future so I'll have to bow out. But if you need help from here to end of Nov let me know.

With those three judging my fights I could offer up more wisdom than Soliman himself and still not get the decision :o

Thats why we come up with a couple more. Then u select one judge from the panel, ur opponent selects one judge and i appoint a 3rd. Pretty evens?

In fact, in terms of real debates, I think I'm the most experienced in this forum. Been a debater in college days.Am as fair as you are.

Had I known that we can select judges, I would not have agreed with VD being a judge. He is full of biases. Anyway, his debating skills is, no doubt, great if not excellent. I've read his debates with some mods here.

To be honest I've given up on anyone wanting to challenge me. They may all like to make out I'm a loveable fool who just talks rubbish but deep down none of them want to match wits with an intellectual grandmaster like myself.

I don't mind who I face or what the debate is about, I'm confident I can erudite more eloquently over a more diverse range of subjects than any other poster here. I don't even need to have a knowledge of the subject at hand, just my rapier like intellect and ability to turn their own words against them will be enough. 8)

And of course if I lose I'll just join you and blame the judges :P
