Things will be diferent this time around
Mayweather has made it clear. It'll be a toe to toe battle. We know we've heard this before, but (Oscar was the much Bigger fighter and.....Puncher). Understand this my fellow boxing "CRITICS". For the style of fight Hatton brings, mayweather will stay in the pocket and punish him. Hatton fans will be banking on his relentless pressure. One thing for sure Hatton is no De La Hoya (He lacks the offensive tools to keep floyd on the defensive) and they are pretty even, as far as weight (Hatton usually comes in at 147, and Mayweather 148). Should mayweather employ this tactic, what do you think would happen?

Wow... I'm having my dinner now... but there is a lot for me to pick apart in that post.

I'm not trying to be rude Step, but there are several threads on this if you scroll through a couple of pages :)

Re: Things will be diferent this time around
I don't waste my time listening to anything pbf says before a fight, he's say he's gonna fight the first three rounds with one arm behind his back if he thought it would get 10 more ppv buys. Mayweather fights whatever fight that gives him the best chance to win....and it's been working.

Sorry to disagree with you but Hatton has the perfect style to keep Floyd on the defensive assuming he goes in like vintage Hatton, goes to work on the body and pressures Floyd....What Hatton doesn't have is the defense to keep Floyd from countering all night long or the speed to keep up with Mayweather as he uses the whole ring to his advantange.....
-
Re: Things will be diferent this time around
he cuts the ring off pretty well though.
if mayweather starts running hatton will start chasing.....and properly, not like chico did
-
Re: Things will be diferent this time around
The only thing that will be different is the 0 in Hatton's loss column.

Hatton fans will be banking on his relentless pressure. One thing for sure Hatton is no De La Hoya no shit, completely different fighters (He lacks the offensive tools to keep floyd on the defensive couldn't be more untrue, Oscar may be bigger than Hatton but he cannot sustain an explosive attack like hatton can) and they are pretty even, as far as weight (Hatton usually comes in at 147, and Mayweather 148 because they dry up to different weights (Floyd barely drys up at all) be serious... look at them, Hatton is naturally much bigger... no way could he fight as low as Floyd has). Should mayweather employ this tactic, what do you think would happen?

Re: Things will be diferent this time around
People one statement suggests what will happen in this fight.
Mayweather is getting KNFO!!!
I'm so confident I'll do one of those CC things for Hatton-Mayweather nearer the time like the one the legend Ono brought up (That's with his permission) as I really am sooooo confident Ricky will win this, I'll bet anything.

I'll bet you 50 cc's Mayweather smokes Hatton within 8 rounds, a UD at the worst, though I'm rooting for Hatton :'(

Re: Things will be diferent this time around
OMG LEGION you are making a big mistake my boy :o,
DEFINITE YES, IT'S ON FOR 50CC'S, Ricky's gonna do the business for me, no doubt.

If it's a mistake then I'll be very glad to learn from it and you can gladly have your CC's. Though my predictions usually suck, I'd be surprised if Ricky didn't get led out of the ring by a seeing eye dog after his face gets closed up. Remind me of the bet as I may forget bro'.

Re: Things will be diferent this time around
I've put it on my profile page haha you and Ono as hopefully he will owe me on the Calzaghe-Kessler fight.

Re: Things will be diferent this time around
So mayweather has a style which could be absolutlkey perfect for beating Ricky, but....he's going to abandon the tactics he's perfected his entire career and he's going to fight with one of the most rugged guys in all of boxing?
Cool....................C'mon Ricky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

Re: Things will be diferent this time around
Floyd going rugged against Hatton is equal to Upset of the Decade.
It won't happen when courage is wanting....

cc my friend.

Re: Things will be diferent this time around
Mayweather will not trade in a war with Hatton. Its very unlikely.
Mayweather will fight using elusiveness and crafty shot selection.

Re: Things will be diferent this time around
Who carees if he stays in the pocket or pot shots all nite ??? as long as he beats the ever living piss out of Hatton I really dont care...
Hattons vaunted stamina hasnt really been seen in years.. He squeaked by Colazzo(Stop the BS excuses) He was hurt to the body and slowed down by Urango(Stop The Excuses) and he KO a shot shell of his former self Castillo that was way out of his prime.
News Flash too..... HATTON DOES NOT DO WELL TAKING THEM TO THE BODY!!!!!! Floyd is as durable to the body that their is and Floyd punishes to the body very well.
Sorry to tell you all but if anyone has shown signs of slipping its Hatton, Floyd is tip top and peak and now that he is 100% focused on training Hatton is gonna look like a chewed up piece of steak and its to bad seeing I like Ricky and he is a great guy :-\

Totally in agreement that if anyone had shown signs of slipping it was Ricky.
During the Maussa fight he took a lot of Punishment and he was caught a number of times by a limited fighter who really wasn't on the same level as him, the Collazo debacle was although in my opinion the correct decision also a good turn of fortune and the Urango disappointment was a let down of immense proportions.
In each of thos fights, Ricky upon the closure of the fight failed to run to the ropes with his traditional jumping celebration. In the uRango fight he walked slowly to the ropes and clambered on illustrating his tiredness. Totally uncharacteristic of the Hitman. The same was evident in the Collazo fight...no energy.
However i disagree in terms of the Castillo fight. Hatton looked extremely strong and he looked like a fighter intent on throwing a steady stream of Hooks and uppercuts all night.
I believe it is largely down to his change in lifestyle.
Isaid before the Castillo fight he looked a lot better and appeared to be showing a lot less signs of Drink related puffiness and bloating.
Although he did put on a considerable amount of weight after the Castilo fight the same can be said this time. He looked ok a month or so ago and i expect him to be at his peak for Floyd.

Hopefully he is at his peak because he will need to be, besides being a master boxer and a defensive specialist Mayweather is very athletic and agile which allows him to be elusive and create angles and looks... Floyd closes the distance very well...
One thing that gets lost in Floyds finesse, is his ability to rough house and duff up his opponents.. He uses elbows, forearms under the nose very well and pushes down the back of the neck, Floyd has a mean streak that he isint afraid to let loose
Hatton will get mugged in the clinches as well

Interesting....an Analyst and a "Cheerleader"
When have you seen Hatton sustain an "EXPLOSIVE" attack > refresh my memory
