What if Wlad had Vitaly's chin????
Wlad has always been an impressive guy. In the beginning he was way too robotic with his movement even when throwing his punches but the sheer size and build was enough to catch our attention, Then as he started to become respected Sanders starched him out and he became another I told you so story in reference to the robotic style of European HWts outside of the UK that seemed to be all power with nothing else...
He bounced back and again became one of the divisions most respected Hwts outside of Lewis and Tua, Holyfield ect...
He gets starched by Brewster...just as critics write him off again Wlad once more rebuilds this time with Manny Stewart...Since then his offence has even greatly improved...He flowsd freely with shots,,,seems very relaxed in the ring....With no question the best HW in the game today...and he is still getting better...The one armed destruction of Ray Austin ( though Ray is not what you call a great HW still is a big strong guy with decent skills) was one of the most dominant performances of any HW in the last 7yrs....
Could anyone imagine the unstoppable force this guy would be if he had the ability of Vitalty to take shots to the chin?...He would have to defend his title twice in one night every time out just to make it seem fair....
Maybe it is just me but from the way he has improved so much and seems to keep improving I just imagine him with a granite chin and think it would almost be unfair to any of todays crop of contenders to even have to face him for a title

jeah if wlad had vitali's chin then none of todays heavies would be able to beat him, because even with his not so great chin there really are maybe one or two around that can. He would have never gotten starched by sanders but instead pounded him into submission probably even quicker than vitali did, as for brewster the whole fight would have been like the first 4 rounds of their fight, purity might have still gotten a win over him since that in my eyes was really a stamina issue, it was in the 11th round or something and the corner threw in the towel he wasn't knocked down or anything. Wlad might not have the chin but certainly has the determination and heart of a champion, and there's been a few greats with not so great chins, so if he unifies and defends the title against top competition he still might enter that select group. If he had his brother's chin we might already be talking about him as an all time great, as is though he's just the best of an average bunch for right now.

Wlad would be an even better fighter for sure with a great chin. i think if he did have a rock chin it would free him up to be even more aggresive , which would be even better to watch , sometimes he hurts a guy and holds back for fear of being tagged.

Back to the thread...which I say is a good conversation stirrer.
IF Wlad had his bro's chin...we would have seen him get up & hammer the shit out of Sanders.
After that...Lewis would have faced him & Wlad would have most likely won. Then he would go on to kick the shit outta pretty much everyone else in the division & that includes Brewster & Williamson.
But that's just me dreaming. ;D

If he had his brother's chin he still would have lost to Sanders and Brewster. Sanders, plain and simple, had his number and hit him on the button with some hard shots that would have rocked any fighter. Brewster simply lasted until he gassed out and then tapped him on the chin. No matter how strong your chin is if you're tired and get tagged it's going to have a lot more effect.

Personally, and this may sound crazy, but I think he's better off with his mediocre chin (I won't say he has a glass jaw because he doesn't, thats an exaggeration). Because he's been starched before, he knows it can happen again and therefore fights a lot smarter, working behind the jab in a more workman like manner. This was probably the case for Lennox Lewis as well. Either way Wlad is a well oiled machine of destruction in the HW division.

I like Wlad and am a big fan...I do not really give him any flack for the losses...they happened Wlad is still coming into his own even though he is the best HW today he has growing to do...Like I said there is no shame in losing to sanders..especially at that point in his career...the loss crazy as it sounds may have done him good...He was starting to get a little too much involved in his own hype at the time.....Lennox did not really become the champion he was until he was 34 or so......
With that being said I think I am a little bit biased when it comes to Lennox....IMO he is the best HW since Holmes and that is saying a lot......Wlad and many others have a looong way to go before even being able to have a comparison to Lewis....
Lennox could box as good as any HW there was with the exception of Louis and Ali...and he had a sledge hammer of a right hand when he let it go...he could out box you or he could get the one punch KO...both losses were due to his cocky attitude and like you said he avenged them both....I can still hear the shot he landed on Rahman in the rematch...

Totally disagree. Wlad has always shown heart. Against Sanders...a HUGE puncher...he just couldn't handle the shots. He got up everytime that he was dropped.
I have never seen him show a lack of heart...if he lacks anything...it's stamina...but that's just me humble erpinion! ;D

Gota agree with wacko here, wlad definitely does not lack heart! He just kept on getting up in the sanders fight, what like 3 times, if he had no heart would he just not have called it quits after the first knockdown. In the purity fight his legs were clearly gone yet he didn't want to go down, his corner had to step in...the man's got plenty of heart

if wlad has vitali's chin he would only have one loss. His first loss was because his stamina isn't great and he got really tired and couldn't continue.

the boy can box with great skill but has almost no heart to tough it out and carry on without jitting the deack imo
