Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
So who would you like to see Kess fight for his comeback fight?
I said I'd like for his opponent to have some type of credibility. Someone whos got a wining record and preferably has either been a champ or has contested for a title or is at least ranked top 10.
So here are some of the names I was able to dig up.
Thoughts?

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
I'd like to see him fight Froch just to show how overrated Carl is then i think a matchup with Bute would be fantastic.

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
Good question Mick. CC from me.
It might be worth considering the weight issue. It seems Kessler just made weight for the fight and Joe was under. To me it seemed that Joe moved a lot better, was quicker and Mikkel was a little slugish. Well he wasn't slugish but i think Joe's speed and movement made it look that way. So since there is not much left at 168 for Kessler why stay there? He's already beat Mundine and the rest are all a big step back after the fight with Calzaghe.
Why not move up to 175 and take on Tarver? Danny Green has signed with Stipe Drews seemingly because Tarver wasn't keen to put pen to paper. Tarver hasn't got anyone of note on his tail. It would keep Kessler in the hunt for a title which he needs, he has a good chance of winning the fight and keeps credibility. Then if Joe moves up and takes Hopkins at 175.....................
Oh yeah I obviously voted OTHER.

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
I think he should fight Miranda. That would be a fantastic barney...
-
Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
I'd love to see him knock Froch out. I think he can easily rule super middle for as long as he can make the weight.
-
Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
Most guys on that list would be a good fight. I went for Inkin, cause inkin needs a big fight too, he's been on the outside for quite long now, maybe he likes it there?. Perhaps winner of Reid-Froch or Miranda. Don't reckon Lacy, Lacy needs warm up fights, hasn't had a healthy fight in 20 months, and his confidence is probably too low.
-
Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
I go with Lacey or Reid, Someone who he will not walk through but will beat pretty soundly...Just as that precautionary "What did the loss do to his Psyche" fight.....
Joe will not hold all the belts long more then likely give them up like the IBF title he took off Lacey,,Kessler will be champ again soon enough...IMO he is the #2 man in the division hands down

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
I don't think that any of those names mentioned would be a bad comeback fight for Kessler, and as I am absolutely convinced that Calzaghe has done his last work at Super Middleweight, then that leaves six guys fighting for three vacant belts, and Kessler has more claim than many to be among those six. However, for British interest, I think Froch would be a good match up, and would be competitive if Froch's untested chin turns out to be half decent.

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
I hope Kessler fights Froch because im sick of Froch telling us how good he is.
If he beats Kessler then great , but ive got a feeling Mr Froch may take an easier rout to the top.as Kessler has a pulse and is under 36 :)

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
I hope he fights Froch,Froch has been saying for years he is the best without fighting anyone that is half decent, and if the fight happend i hope Kessler ko's him.

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
well personally i dont really give a shit about froch, he would be the least deserving candidate on that list.
stylewise and name wise there is absolutely nothing to discuss, he should be aiming for miranda. personally i see him destroying miranda, and a fight against him. would make him even more known on us soil.
should that not be able to make, fighting bute would be fine, a risky fight, but thats the way it is, kessler is ready, and his promoter has allready stated, that they want title fights, and bute´s name was mentioned.

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
Froch, just to see him get clouted outa there...respect the guy as a fighter, but cant get to grips with his attitude ;D
-
Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
Froch isnt the biggest name but i think Kessler is to accurate with his jab then straight right hand and with Froch having not much of a defence i see Kessler getting back on track and ready to be world champion again!

i voted Miranda.
I think if Miranda has another fight within the next 2 months or so.
I would like to see Kess vs. Miranda.

Quote LL-Cool-J
"Don't call it a comeback!!!!"
From my favorite rap song... ever.
The saying means that Kessler didn't leave the stage, so he's already in the mix.
His performance was STILL excellent.
This quote sums up Kessler's situation and so-called "comeback."

I see your point and I agree.
But to be technical his comeback is from a loss and not from a bad performance.

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
ahhh forget your technical business CutemeMick, ..... think from the heart! :D

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
were is all my fellow Danes ? Anyway I think Kessler should go to US maybe fight RJJ if RJJ wants any part of Kessler now.
Apart from that I would love the Froch to get a taste of class. Nighty night froggy ;D

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
First choice for me would be Bute so he could grab that other strap, definately not a gimme fight.
Another option would be "Contender Champ" Sakio Bika, to get some further exposure.
A personal fight that I would like to see is Kessler vs. Inkin although it would be my
favorite fight for me I don't think it would benefit Kessler's career as much as the other two.

CC#1077 killersheep and thanks for your input...
I think Bika is a possibility now.

Re: Mikkel Kessler comeback fight?
Lucian Bute = Would be good fight Bute has a belt would like to see this.
Edison Miranda = Not so sure about this Miranda has lost some credibility since his loss to Pavlik Kessler would beat Miranda by one sided decision but still pretty good comeback fight for Kessler.
Allan Green = Basically same as Miranda he has lost credibility and isn't really a name at the moment but still would be good comeback fight.
Denis Inkin = Inkin isn't really known but he is 33-0 would be good win for Kessler.
Jeff Lacy = Lacy has been inactive and has done virtually nothing in ages no interest in this fight at the moment.
Carl Froch = Froch is good upcoming prospect would be a good win for Kessler wouldn't mind seeing this.
Rematch Mundine = If Mundine comes back then i wouldn't mind seeing the rematch there first fight was awesome and Mundine gave Kessler tough fight plus Mundine has improved since there first fight.
Robin Reid = Reid isn't name anymore no interest in this fight.
Maselino Masoe = High ko record but he isn't a name and Kessler wouldn't get any credit for the win.
Sakio Bika = Since he has won the Contender this would get Kessler some big exposure wouldn't mind seeing this fight.

I agree with almost everything you said except that as I said he needs some type of name that holds some type of ground a name that we have at least seen. I know Reid, Lacy, Masoe are not the same as Inkin, Bute & Mundine but they have been either champs and or have contested for a title and for a comeback fight for someone like Kess he needs to have lots of names available. Thats why I included as many names of fighters who yes have lost, yes have been lurking as contenders cause that's whats available for him.
I prefered he fight Miranda but to be honest any one of the names I listed would be good for a comeback fight.
