Damn, gotta agree with you Pantera, what an idiot. Can't he pay someone now to fix a window, or have his pops or brothers do it?
Pavlik never did seem to be the brightest of boys.
It's funny, his dad said it was just a bunch of little cuts. No little cuts need stitches. He was probably boxing in front of the sliding glass door and punched right through it, lol. I've had alot of stitches; but 100? That's some serious damage!!
It makes you wonder what REALLY happened...Quote:

Pavlik seem to be the most down home type of guy there is....i mean c'mon the man leaves his check in the hotel now this doesn't surprise me. If pavlik had a million dollors in his pocket he seems like the type that still does his own oil changes in his truck, so he'd never pay to get a window fixed when he can do it himself. He'll learn...
Your right, 100 stitches in just your hand? Can't be an accurate number thats a hell of a lotQuote:

this officially makes pavlik the coolest boxer around, and i mean coolest in a sarcasm slash dorking way.
no freaking way he had 100 stitches on just his hands, that would keep him from boxing for a long while. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hopefully it isn't that bad, it would be a shame to have his career suddenly go downhill cause of a little homemade accident.
Damn, thats a bonehead manuever. Thats worse than some toolman Tim Taylor shiet. No Kelly you dont punch the windows into place...
His titanium knuckle implant surgery is now complete!! ;D
That is respectable. He is a working class kid from Youngstown Ohio. Over there (35 miles east)Quote:

At least he didn't do it in a alley fight like Zab Judah or something. He will be fine. I have had multiple stitches in the palm wrist and fingers from a sheet metal machine the was jammed and I was fine in a couple of weeks. He is a classy humble guy and fixing his own stuff goes to show how humble he really is.
When I got my hand caught in a sheet metal ripper I got 58. I have no nerve damage though.Quote:

I just think (and most people seem to agree) that he IS the champ (and well derserved) and he needs to protect himself as much as possible. He IS stupid to do anything that could cause him injury. You dont agree?
If I found out Miranda fell off a ladder while trimming his tree I would call him a freakin idiot too!
Akron, I don't see Pantera hating on this guy. Hell, Pavlik is my favorite fighter and I called him an idiot. I think if someone had found this article before Pantera, they would have posed it 1st. Whether Pantera likes Pavlik or not, it didn't show in his post. It seems Pav's a good, working class guy, but when you're the champ and probably have a busy year in 2008, you should probably be a bit more careful with the tools that made you champ.Quote:

I'm sure these stitches have been done with the finest of thread.
I think when you guys read '100 Stitches' you guys are thinking of a large cut.
What you should be asking is what kind of stitching did they use?
Children that are born with 'Cleft' on the norm get about 9 to 12 stitches in an avg. length of about 5/8".
So the cut might not be a deep nore a long cut, it's just that the stiching was done very fine.
By the way southakron I to don't think Pantera hates Pavlik. He might hold a grudge on him or something but hate. I don't think so.
let me get this ... he is fixing a window at home it shatters, how is he an idiot ? im lost on that comment. i think it good to see someone with money in the pocket , who aint afraid to do some labor around the house. good work ethic keeps you hard...when you start hiring everything done you get soft mentally lazy and it bleeds into the fabric that makes you that champion.. next thing you know , your tits up next match .
I got nothing wrong with him doing a little this and that around that house. But who knows what the true story is. For a glass to shatter a cause such injury, there must of been a moment when the average Joe would have thought to himself, "should I really be doing this?"
There has been many times that thought has gone through my head doing 'extended' home choars (electricity, etc). And if my hands were golden like Pavlik's, I think I would hold back on any risks!
Honestly...shit like this makes me like Pavlik even more...not the fact that he's a bungler & injured himself pulling what many here seem to think a "remedial task" but the fact that he's not sitting around on his ass soaking up championship dollars or out being a total douche bag like most boxers these days.Quote:

Again...can't live your life that way if you haven't been brought up like that.Quote:

Other sport stars do things that put them more at risk than home tasks.
So he goofed up and injured himself a bit. He will be fine. It happens to all of us.
Now if I hear reports next week that he joined a bull riding rodeo circuit, I will then seriously start to question his actions! ;D
As long as he doesn't end up needing that many stitches after a fight (like gatti,) i don't see something like this being in any way detrimental to his career
It has nothing to do with being wealthy. And again, I got no idea what it was he was doing, so maybe you are right, maybe it was an everyday home maintenance that went real bad, real real bad! But if there was any risk in what he was doing, at his level in boxing he should have taken some precautions. He is on the top of boxing right now and his hands are making him millions. If it were me, yea, I would be making some life changes and protecting those hands. Change your own light bulbs is fine. But putting a ladder on top of a table to get to the light bulb, well, that may be good for you Wacko, but I would hope a guy like Pavlik would draw the line.Quote:

sorry legion i have to disagree dont matter how rich you are when your a man u do things yourself not with anyones help
ur basically lazy....not a good life
but when u do windows an stuff liekthat
u aint suppose to do it by ur self anyway.
fightnews says he'll be fighting in February
Now who said anything about putting a ladder on top of a table?!?!?Quote:

I read the stitches come out in a week and they were just superficial cuts so no damage to his tendons or muscles. Thats good news, could have been much worse.

Yeah, I stand corrected. When I 1st saw the post I was like, WTF? Pav's my favorite fighter and it just made me jump the gun on what I wrote. Of course, unless you know what really happened it should slow one down before trying to pass judgement, so my bad. To call him an idiot is rather bold, but I used the term loosely and can't really call someone an idiot that I don't even know personally. I would sure hate to see him do something silly and mess up next year. As far as paying someone to do your dirty work, you're right, it does make one lazy and Pavlik should stay true to his working class roots. His brothers still could have done it for him though. ;D ;D And I still don't think Pantera was hating on Pavlik. I was wrong...... ;)Quote:

Surely if he was really 'the ghost' is hand would have gone through the window without smashing it.
I have to agree with the people who are actually impressed with his ability to still do some blue collar work. He's a stand up guy, doing what most middle class people do everyday. I mean it's not like he got drunk and crashed an expensive sports car into a tree.
I hate to be "Un-PC"...but midgets are fwockin hillarious. With those nubby little digits & what not. ;DQuote:
