I don't know pancho beat jimmy when he was young and while jimmy came out of retirement. Too bad thats all we got, we ain't ever got to see them fight on their prime. Villa had over 100 plus fights and only 23 years old, he could of been even better if he had live longer.

Not only was he the first pinoy champ but also the first asian world boxing champ by a long shot. While most other asian champions emerged after WWII mostly around 1950's, we had our first world champ in the 1920's. Why's that? It's cuz them yankee bastards (I mean 'nice' bastards) showed us pinoys some bad examples, like this human cockfighting called boxing. (FYI, Philippines was the only colony US have ever had. So now you know why there's pinoys all over the net pretending to speak English.)
Villa's record makes (who's that?) Smokey Robinson's (? ;D) record pale in comparison. Villa already had 100 fights in 5-6 years of boxing career while it took 25 years for Robinson to achieve his 170+ fight record. Alright now, kiddos, let's not start some stupid argument here. :P

Thanx mick, definitely my favorite mod and the most reasonable one at that. How's going, no time no hear. Hate to admit it but I didn't know much about Pancho either :-\ - it's all google-work. Actually, Icecold beat me to it and I'm supposed to be a proud pinoy. :-[ We've been hearing about Elorde here but almost nothing about Pancho - who'd ever thought we had a Sugar Ray Robinson in our own back yard! geesh, how did we miss that!?
