Well VD, being that your possibly the only Casa fan here I guess it would be right to ask you how you scored the fight?
I think Santa Cruz won it by 2 rounds.

Santa Cruz scored a knockdown in the first round (questionable, but the ref called it), won the 2nd and swept every round after he turned southpaw IMO.
One of the worst decisions I have seen in a long time. Decisions like this are ruining boxing for me. The fix was in on this one for sure. What a crock of shit.
Casamayor did nothing to win this fight. Worst robbery in a long time.
I like Casa but the fight was robbery Cruz definetly deserved it terrible decision i did score it but after about 9 rounds i didn't even bother because it was obvisious who was winning and who won the fight.Quote:

Yeah that was bad. It was one of the ugliest fights I have seen to begin with, but Santa Cruz clearly won at least 8-9 rounds. The whole time I was thinking, "this guy beat Diego Corrales?" ???
I think the knockdown was fair and square. If you fall from a punch above the waist you are knocked down. I always that rule was right on.
Now Casamayor needs to give Kid Diamond a shot at revenge.
It was funny, the Australian feed had Wally Mathews and another guy commentating and it was clear they were told to nuthug Casamayor - even so far as arguing that the first round was close enough to be 10-9 in spite of the knockdown. They kept that shit up for the first half of the fight until it became clear Casamayor was getting his ass kicked then they just called it like it was.
When the decision was announced, Matthews first words were "Oh no!"
THAT's how bad a fucking decision this was - two guys clearly in Casamayor's corner said it was a travesty.
Jim Lampley- "Dreadful! I wish I had a stronger word." About sums it up.
Atrocious was the word he was looking for. Maybe despicable.Quote:

casamayor looked SHITTY
santa cruz was fucked up by edner cherry and handed a victory
FUCK santa cruz
man can someone post the fight sometime. I have a picture of Casa framed that my father gave me before he died. I hate to hear about all this.
Casamayor was awful, Santa Cruz faught out of his skin and was seriously robbed.
Casa won 4 rounds at best. Santa Cruz earned that victory. Cruz has been a real warrior and always comes to fight. This was his chance to show that hes nobodys opponent or stepping stone, and he did a damn good job of that. Sadly,Casamayor just showed up and still won.
that fight was very one sided for santa cruz yet he was robbed. id say casamayor was just blabbing all this time. what do you guys think?
Just a horrible decision in a bad fight. Casamayor did nothing. How the hell can those three judges have it so close is what gets me. Usually one gets it right when it comes to these robberies. This could be the worst decision I've seen. And there's been a lot.
Man not only was the fight horribly to watch but know they have to top it off with a decision like just horrible.
Well did anyone think that Golden Boy Promotions was going to let Joel Cassamayor lose his debut with them ::**...That fight screamed "To Win You Have To Knock Him Out" before the bell even rang
Are you serious man? He easily beat Cherry by a few rounds.Quote:

as far as I know......
cruz was robbed big time. casa is going to get knocked out in his next fight prolly by juans consistant pressure, casa won't hold up againts it.
Did he really look that bad? Going to watch it later.
Santa Cruz was robbed out right, shame..
casa turned into a right lil mini John Ruiz too.
That was a shocking result; what a travesty. I pray Juan Diaz brutalizes Casa to get that belt and send him packing.
Well, according to the lineal champ stuff,Joel is number isn't he? Will be VERY interesting to see if they keep him as champ and even more interesting to see where he goes from here. I think he's s uper talented fighter who is just getting rusty and rather than stay active, has been talking too much.

I'd go so far as to say that Casamayor looked like this was the first time he had boxing gloves on.Quote:

I'm still in shock over this one. I agree, "The Ring" should strip him anyone who keeps in their top p4p is a joke. This performance was beyond ring rust. Casa was dominated. This ain't like Hatton/Collazo or Castillo/Ngoudjo where it's a close fight, even if you scored it for the underdog and think star power influenced the judges. Should have been at most 4 rounds to Casa...I had gave Casa 2. To anybody who missed it, yes, it was really that bad.
Topic Merged. :)
I felt Casamayor was losing the fight just before I fell asleep.
didnt VD recently put casamayor at around 4 or 5 P4P ::**
but he thinks hatton doesnt belong in the top ten ;)
diaz would smoke casamayor
I had a dream you were sleeping when I was also. ;DQuote:

TBH...Cass is a great fighter but age an inactivity is something not even the greatest of all time can overcome....
LMAO..... The boxing card was great. But this particular fight did nothing for me.Quote:

I can't believe it man. Steward said it best when he said that shit like this hurts boxing.
Somethings gotta be done, somethings gotta be changed. I'm sick of hearing "bad decisions are just a part of boxing". Fuck that. This kind of injustice leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
There are bad decisions, and then there are BAD, HORRIBLE decisions. I can list plenty of decisions that I disagree with, that I think are wrong. Bad decision are part of boxing, yes, but one's this one are beyond the normal scope of bad decisions...even Forrest/Quartey was closer that his and I was appauled at that decision. Sanctioning bodies need to do a better job of evaluating, training, and in some cases, punishing judges.Quote:

Its about time Casa had a bt of luck anyway . The knockdown in teh 1st was wrongly counted against him .It happend vs Freitas aswel . He belives he beat Chico the 2nd time and Castillo and he didnt get those decisions so its about time luck went his way . Shame for Cruz cuz once he went southpaw he had the answers . Bet he wishes he did that from the start .
