Haye's Next Opponent?
I don't think Warren wants Enzo to fight Haye. Not sure why.....
I think David has the beating of any of the British heavies and should fight a Harrison or Skelton next, then move on to a US heavy in America.
The Eastern Europeans are the best at present but America is still where the moneys at and a win over a Thompson, Chambers or Ruiz would be great exposure.

Id say a nice entrance to the Heavyweights would be Danny Williams or Matt Skelton, or dare i say it AUDREY HARRISON? I mean the guy is 27 i wouldnt rush him into quickly id say get use to the division and hopefully w genuine title shot within two years?

Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
I heard he is chasing a fight with Enzo.

Most likely outcome is Enzo gets annihilated. And Haye wont sign his life over to FW. So no fight.
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
The fight wont happen, Haye said he is not fighting at 200 again and he said he would fight Enzo in cardiff but over 200, Enzo is not a big cruiserweight, he constantly comes in around 194, thats not a guy struggling to make weight, i agree with Fenster. Haye sends Enzo to sleep at any weight.
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
yeah all the papers keep saying he will fight enzo next and unify the crusierweight belts - but yet haye keeps saying that was his last fight in the division and he will move up to heavy. i think he should destroy skelton etc and then fight some europeans and then go to u.s

Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Am I the only person who still considers O'Neil Bell to be the true cruiserweight world champ?
I know he holds no title now but I honestly think he would put a beatdown on Haye.
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Probably a couple of tune ups at heavyweight and then a shot at one of the alphabet boys.
I don't see him getting wrangled in the domestic heavyweight scene.....it's just a vicious cycle of shiteness
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Of the choices, I went for British title. He needs to ease himself nto the division, and take time in bulking up properly. I'd love to see him fight Enzo at cruiser, but I don't think it's going to happen, and with how long it takes Frank to sort out fights Haye's career will be passing him by. He's at the right age now, and if manages to do really well in the Heavy's, I suppose it won't matter that much about the cruisers.

Nah never in a million years, besides didn't you see Mormeck destroy Bell the second time?
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Enzo has said he won't fight Haye at Heavyweight as he would be giving too much advantage to Haye who is the bigger of the two.
I think Haye will fight a decent opponent next but not any of the rubbish that are currently British Heavyweights.
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Haye v Povetkin kinda sounds interesting to me.....
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
I'd like to nominate:
@ Cruiserweight: O'Neil Bell

Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Ive read an article in the sun this morning That Say's Hay could be fast tracked for a world title shot by the WBA. Apparently Renzo Bagnoriol a WBA official made these comments
"Because Hay is our champion in the Cruiser-weight division, if he steps up to heavy-weight, he
would get preferential treatment for a world-title shot. All he has to do is write us a letter and we would consider his request. It can be done as it is certainly withing our rules."
Hays only comments "I'll fight anyone. It doesn't matter who.
So..Hay vs Ruslan Chagaev?
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
nah he should take it slower than that - ease himself into heavyweight not just jump straight into it.
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Man, I was really surprised with the poll result wanting Haye to go after the British Heavyweight title. Currently in the hands of Danny Williams, I think Haye should steer clear of the Warren-controlled hash that the British Heavyweight scene has been in recent years, and I think he should go after an European heavyweight that would really him a shot at breaking the world rankings sharpish.
If he were to fight a journeyman in a return to heavyweight I wouldn't be to concerned, as long as that's followed up by a competitive fight, but my vote's going for the top Euro heavyweight.

Your right he should steer will clear of the british domestic scene.

Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Haye's chasing a fight with Enzo???
That would be one of thee biggest domestic fights since Eubank/Benn!!!!
I'm an Enzo fan, bvut Haye looks better at the moment....
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Haye - Enzo would be great but don't think it will happen!
how do u guys think Haye's chin will last at Heavyweight?, he didn't get tested in his 1 round
win, he has the punch but he's been hurt at Cruizer so it'll be intresting to see how he copes with the
big hitters!

I think his speed/movement may be a great crutch to his chin at heavy. Simply, if he's not hit it won't hurt.

Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Haye is a heavyweight who struggled to do cruiserweight. He hits like a mule kicks and unlike other cruiserweights coming up to heavy he's already got the natural added weight. theres no need to hold him back. heres his next four suggested fights.
GOLOTA
RUIZ
TUA
then a title fight.
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Wow Haye v Tua would be INSANE! I'd like to see him fight Chagaev though, similar sized and very exciting styles wise, that'd be a great fight. Haye v Peter too, I could see Haye out boxing Samuel Peter all night.
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
David Tua would be a bad match for Haye , i think wipe out Skelton / or Williams / he cant just jump up to heavy and expect to be fighting the top guys. After the weight he shed to make the Mormeck fight he has to put it back on with the correct diet and training which will take time.
At the moment Tua would KO Haye in my opinion.
PS. id love to see him blast Skelton out who simply has an awful fighting style, and for me is always in disgraceful condition , flabby and un toned.
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Larry Merchant told me it might be Manny Pacquiao.
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
In all seriousness, if Haye is adamant about moving to heavyweight, then he should get his feet wet by fighting a fading heavyweight who has a big name.
Byrd, Holyfield, Toney... there are plenty of guys like this out there. And the reason I named those 3 is that they all are former cruiserweights, like Haye.
If he dominates one of those guys, then he can move up to the Chagaev, Ibragimov level of opponent.
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
sod it....id like to see haye fight a big name american heavyweight. Hopefully win that, get a name for himself then go on to fight the better skilled boxers that all purist fight fans would love to see. Needs a name to make these as exciting i feel though!

I think he said before that he wasn't interested in getting involved in the British Heavy Merry-go-round as he has more ambition. Think he'll have a fight against a decentish Heavyweight and then go for the WBA. I think he is going to have a huge impact on the Heavyweight scene.

Frank Warren's heavyweight line dance = graveyard of career and ambition

Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
He's already the best Heavy in Britain! Why fight to prove it???
He's better than Williams, Skelton, Audrey, Sprott...everyone knows that and he will get no accolades or benefit from fighting these bums!
He should fight Vladdy Virchis to start with (he's been in with and beaten Sprott and Francis and only just lost to Ruslan on MD) so it would be a superb scalp on his record!!!
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
Sprott beat Virchis.
Virchis is strong but the ultimate plodder. I'd back Skelton and co to beat him in England.
Haye would muller him.

CC tansend. I think Enzo has ruled out a catch weight fight so establishing himself as the number 1 Heavy on the domestic scene (from a pile of limited but BIG punchers) wouldnt be a bad ethic.
I persnonally would take great pleasure in seeing Haye KO Sprott, Williams & Harrison. Skelton might push him but it would be a fun fight.

Yes you're the only one. Silly hobbit!
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
....I'd like to see him fight a young American prospect: Arreola, Banks, hell a fight with Domonick Guinn would be a good step for him just as a stepping stone in the division
I would like Haye to do well but as fast as his hands are his defense and stamina leave a lot to be desired
-
Re: Haye's Next Opponent?
i want it to be enzo. thats the best fight for him
