Good read. I never knew he never lost a match when his father was his sole trainer.
I noticed he picked Mosley to win also. I am still banging my head into the desk on that one. Shane did well, but so many of us underestimated Cotto.
Yup, truly fantastic interview by Rob Preme Lewis and its great he's got the contacts in the Calzaghe gym and building up the rapport again with them.
By the way, I saw Enzo in Swansea city centre on the Tuesday afternoon after the fight. He was incognito in trackies and a beanie, but he didn't have a mark on him.
Cheer sad, CC;)
haha he loves his beanie - he even had it on the scales during his weigh in.Quote:

Eubank just could not deal with southpaws at all, his jab would be some sort of light side-punch and his right hand would turn into a kind of roundhouse punch with little power
I can't work out when people say prime for prime Eubank would beat Calzaghe
But against a 5ft8-5ft11 orthodox fighter, I'd say Eubank is about the best of the last 20 years (bar maybe Roy Jones)
Great inteview. I hope Calzaghe stays true to his word and retires within a year. Getting one more big win and retiring undefeated after so many years would be a amazing feat. Too mant boxers stay around to long but I think Joe sincerely thinks he has one great fight left in him.

Not as sloppy as Joe himself ;) He misses so much it's almost funny, does Sir Joe
If it was a proper fighter in there last Sat (instead of that reluctant robot), he'd have been punished more and beaten into submission
Dude...you're fucking high, so pass me some of that mind-destroying substanceyou're on so I can use it to experiment on some of the local chavs. So if Joe Calzaghe is such a dreadful boxer, how on earth has he beaten every SMW of note who hasn't retired or left the division to avoid stepping through the ropes with him.Quote:

This is Calzaghe thread jeez is this all you talk about DD i think you should get a new record because you post the same stuff about same fighter all the time Calzaghe would beat Eubank any time in Eubank's career Eubank always hated pressure fighters are we forgetting the beating Eubank took from Watson in there 2nd fight until Eubank landed a lucky punch out of desperation also Calzaghe never got gift decision's of the likes of Ray Close ::**Quote:

:sadclick: for one of the most ridiculous posts i've ever read.
Laughin article mate, I bought u a virtual pint for that one, what bar sells a pint for £1.50 though mate? ;)
We all know Froch, Brahmer, Bute and (to a lesser extent) Inkin were far tougher challenges than one-dimensional Lacy and one-dimensional Kessler
If he beat those three or four I'd bow to him
Joe has just got the title (it's taken him 30 years, by the way), now it's time to start defending it and prove he's a real champion
CC rob Good Stuff.....
I often times sit here and read the forums and think to myself I know nothing about boxing when I read some of the great posts on here, then someone like you nium comes along with retarded banter like this and it makes me think I should write a F****** book about boxing. Nium in your eyes calzaghe could beat klitschko and b hop on the same night and you'd say klitscko got a glass chin and b hop is old. It's ok to dislike certain fighters but don't try and take credit away from them with ridicelous statements. I myself don't like certain fighters but I don't try to come up with semi witted reasons as to why they're no good or how crap they're opponent was, when clearly they weren't. A sad click isn't enough for you...As for the interview it was a great read, joe seems to have a great sense of humor!
Froch would knock Joe senseless, Calzaghe won't prove otherwise because he knows it's the truth
We all said Kessler was average before the fight was made by the clips we saw on YouTube, why backpedal now? (The belts don't mean anything anymore)
I've been a fan of Calzaghe at times over the decades - I like his heart and workrate, but to suggest he's this super-special second coming all of a sudden is really quite silly
I am not suggesting he's the second comming, but he's a dam good fighter. Kessler was over rated, and everyone knew it? Really??? Because all I remember a few months ago was how calzaghe wouldn't fight him, and he's scarred and a freaking pretender, and kessler would expose him for the protected champion that he is. He took the fight beat kess square and fair, no hometown bullshit and now kessler is supposed to be just another lacy??? F*** that S***! If kess doesn't obsess over this loss and focuses his mind on the future he'll be champ within 2 years again, he would give a dam tough fight to anyone pretty much from middleweight to light heavy. Between calzaghe and kessler the two beat pretty much anyone of note in the super middleweight division and joe came out on top in the fight between them, I mean what more can he F****** do??? Fight froch as you say, what's the point just so you can come on here again and claim froch was overrated, with the exception that you would be right in that case.
Right. So in your mind the untested realms of Froch, the up and comer Bute, and the Veit victim Braemer are better than Kessler. I'm not even sure why I bother to reply, however Kessler had better pedigree than each of those fighters, which leaves your argument treading water in a whirlpool.Quote:

Great article. Loved it!
Its funny you say that beacuse after he beat Eubank i didnt really like Joes cocky personality. he has tones it down so much in recent years it's unreal, especially against Robin Reid in 1999 where he use to give it the bigtime Charlie act. But i agree over the years he has become much more respectful of his opponents.Quote:

Excellent interview, CC.
cc for the interview. And as for nuim aka froch i do like u but the best fighters u beat r a past it Magee nd a shell of his former self in robyn reid so even if kessler was over rated (which hes not) at least he was in his prime as was lacy so for that alone joe deserves more credit nd also i want to c u fight some1 thats the atleast the same size as u cos every fight ive seen ur opponent looks like he should be one or two weights below you. Nd there noway joes going to fight u as it would be atlest 10 steps backwards for him at this point in his career but when he steps up in weight i do think u will have a gd opportunity of winning one of the vacated belts.
Carl"all mouth"Froch :baeh: will beat Calzaghe ???,get the F*** out of here, you most be a alcohol addict, here take a few drink :drinker: :drinker: and try to get soberQuote:
