Javier Castillejo In A Trilogy With Felix Sturm Oh God.

Ice can I ask why you hope this doesn't happen? They're 1-1 currently so a rubber match would be in order, or would you just like for felix to move onto other things, since castillejo cant move on to much more being 40...

Castillejo was impressive last night winning a WBA eliminator so earned his shot

I'd like to see it personally. When's that guy going to retire?

I think its legit Castillejo won the first by k.o. and Sturm won the second on points. Castillejo always has the chance to get the k.o. If you think thats bad what do you think about a rubber match between Miyagi and Jaca...two NC's from headbutts....man imagine the odds you could have gotten on that.

Funny thing that you mention AA here. Cause I'm a fan of AA but I'm also one of his biggest critics...
Up until the Miranda fight he had been looking shaky in his performances. In his last 2 fights hes somewhat improved.
Hes still a litte too patient for my likings and he waits around to long at times.
With that being said I think a AA vs. Sturm fight would be great, Sturm outboxing AA early and then AA bringing it on in the late rounds to stop Sturm.

I'm waiting for Javier to get old one night.

Anyway their styles match up to always be an exciting fight where Sturm will have trouble.

And Sturm has fallen off a lot since that De La Hoya fight, I think he squandered his talent fighting people who were two levels below him.

He needs to get better and fast if he wants to last in the top tier of his class.

Sturm will be another Sven Ottke but worse.

Spot on i just don't get why Sturm would want to fight him again what will it prove ?? this is turning into another Woods vs Johnson i just feel Sturm has been very disappointing since his fight with Oscar De La Hoya i was expecting good things from Sturm but oh well nevermind.

One more thing does he have to fight Castillejo or does he have a choice in the matter ??

He will fight him and most likely WANTS to. Sturm was ringside watching this fight. And if it wasn't Castillejo they were talking about rematching Griffin.

I've just checked Felix Sturms homepage and he will fight Castillejo in Summer(maybe july) next year...
But he will make a voluntary defense before that against Randy Griffin, who he fought only to a draw some weeks ago.He stated after that fight that he will give Griffin a rematch...The fight against Griffin
will most probably be in april next year...

Im not saying he doesn't deserve it im just disappointed in Sturm Mick i was expecting good things from Sturm like i said earlier and he hasn't done anything since Oscar De La Hoya fight if Sturm beats Castillejo he doesn't get any credit and if he loses ?? well that could put his career in jeopardy i just see lose lose situation here.

Being a huge Sturm fan...I want to touch on this matter...as I did when it happened...& I want to defend Sturm now...as I did when it happened then.

Sturm refused that fight for good cause...it was going to be in Taylor's backyard Little Rock, Arkansas. Negotiations stalled & they brought in Joppy. Well i didn't actually know that part of it all i heard was that Sturm turned fight down i didn't know the fight was going to take place in Taylor's hometown.

I am a big fan of Winky Wright, but I thought Taylor won this. Wright was lazy in the later rounds and shot himself in the foot. I agree with what you say about why Sturm didn't take the fight with Taylor though.

ICB is just frustrated with Sturm's career, as am I. After the Oscar fight, he got alot of credit, but he seems happy to take his mandatorys right now. It's annoying, because he recently said he'd try to unify with Abraham, but instead has planned next year fighting Griffin (again) and Castillejo (again). I understand the WBA will force him to make the second fight, but surely he should be kicking on for a new opponent instead of fighting Griffin, a guy he should have beaten with ease in the first place.
