Paulie “The Magic Man” Malignaggi vs Junior Witter
Junior Witter vs Pauli Maligfranawa whatever his last name. Both are fast, but I think Junior is cleary faster and maybe among the very fastest in the sport, but just watching him hold his hands up against Vivian made me want punch him really hard. He looked rediculous. Paulie has tons of talent, and could be a top 10 p4p fighter someday.

I think we will see this happen in the next year or two. Haven't seen Witter enough to judge, but it would make sense for these two to make a fight. From what I've heard, Witter doesn't let his hands go as much as Paulie. Is that an accurate impression?

I think Witter pulls it off. I really do as much as Paulies improved and as slick as he is I think Witter would be a little more effective then Paulie.

I think he is lighter on his feet than Witter who sits down on his punches more now.

I have to say I wasn't a Witter fan before. I was shocked when he beat Corley for the title...but after beating Harris his stock rose IMO and now I'm a big fan!!!
I think when Hatton beats Mayweather and moves up...for me Witter is the man at Light Welter!

Witter is not busy enough and personally i dont think he is sharp enough to go twelve rounds with paulie..
His only hope would be stoppage and i dont think theres very many that could stop paulie

Paulie has improved soo much and after seeing the type of punishment he can absorb I don't see Witter knocking him out...It might not be an exciting fight but Paulie walks away with a decision

Right...not sure this thread is going to be too much in favour of Witter as I know that he isn't that popular with people on here...but this is a fight I would love to see in 2008.
After a great 2007 for Boxing, 2008 really needs to step up to the plate and with fights like Hatton or Mayweather vs Cotto and Pavlik vs Taylor II on the card...I can't see why it won't!
Also...2007 has been an amazing year for British boxing. There are big fights out there for Hatton (if he wins), Haye, Woods, Rees, Arthur, Joey C and Enzo Mac...and also for Junior Witter.
Witter has obviosuly improved vastly since fighting Judah (a fight he took too early) and abling to wins over Lynes and N'Dou...but IMO he is a fighter who is improving and still has a few years ahead of him at 33.
This would be a fight I would love to see in 2008. Paulie is lightning quick, but Witter ain't too slow himself. I have questioned Witter chin in the past, but I think he has put that one to bed now! He has a questionable defense and ofter can get a little cocky in the ring as he was against Morua...!!
With Hatton stepping up, LWW is a division for the taking. It's too early for Rees, Torres being bollox and D-Hop yet to land the fight he rightfully deserves...bragging rights as the best in the division is the prize for the winner!
IMO...Witter wins! I think he is a vastly improved fighter. Great win against Harris and his tail is in the air!!

Well he didn't correct Hennessy when he was sat right next to him after the Harris fight. Hennessy was saying "this proves Junior is the best 140 fighter in the world".
Maybe he assumed that Hatton had gone up to WW but he's defo the 2ND best alongside Hatton easily.

I agree, but probably his most noteable win was against Arnaoutis. He will need a few more big names on there to get props that he deserves!

Holt is a decent name. And pushing Cotto to the limit, to the point were Cotto himself has admitted that was the toughest fight of his career is pretty F****** impressive in my book.

Paulie is a much better boxer then Witter and much slicker.....Cotto could not KO the Magic Man...Witter does not hit harder then Cotto!!!....RePeat Does NOT!!!!...(just for those who will try and use the power difference as an arguement ;))
I have to pick Paulie on this one...he won't KO Witter but IMO will give him a fair boxing lesson

At 140, id say that is fairly debatable daxx... Witter hits pretty hard man. I mean, he was the 1st to floored N'dou right?
And his KO over Witter was brutal.
Also, we cant tell how uneffective Cotto's power was in his last fight at 140.
