The combine records of the opposition when they fought them in title fights if they fought them more then once i counted it like they were two people. For Hagler 687-55-11 and for Jones 809-56-13 those are the numbers for that and hear come some more.
Title fights they were in and the results of them Hagler 15 title fights record 13-1-1 and Jones 25 record 21-4.
Most notable wins for both men Hagler's were Duran and Hearns and Jones is Tony and Bernard.
Now numbers are not always the best way to look at things but it helps. When you consider a fight you consider the follow who they beat, how they beat them, were there were in they career when they beat them, size, height, reach, chin, conditioning, heart and also speed and power thats all i got so far. Reason Haggler would when had a chin that was made a titanium, had great power, was relentless and in prime was a god.
Reason for Jones winning was great speed, reflexes, power and also a god in his prime.
So there is some things that you can consider win thinking about fights and need some extra info there you go got some.

Watch any of Roy's fights and when he is cornered and the opponent (usually just that - an opponent) is close and on him, he looked utterly bewildered.. stretching his neck, turning his head, even closing his eyes. This is where Hagler would be. And Hagler is far stronger than Griffin and Hopkins.

I see Jones leaping in to potshot Hagler and Hagler timing him with an overhand and then sliding right in and working his ribs, bulling him into the corner, and preventing escape. All night.

Please kids, don't say 'oh, but what if Roy just boxed him and used his speed'. Roy really was not a master boxer. Roy was out-feinted and out-boxed by Montell Griffin. Roy was given great trouble by southpaws Harding and Tarver. Basically skilled fighters who applied SKILLED pressure gave Jones a lot of trouble (and no, Joe Calzaghe does not come into that category).

This is not to say that Jones doesn't pose problems for Hagler. Jones would for any middleweight who ever lived. The assertion generally made with a Hagler and Jones fantasy fight that if they 'boxed' Hagler would not have fun is confusing. Hagler was a master boxer in his prime. For the purposes of the argument, say that Jones's athleticism, speed and rythym and timing allows him to out-box Hagler from the outside. Hagler can switch positions and try again, he can work his way inside and fire up the ribs, he can make it a slugfest. Any of those strategies are possible and any of them can completely change the advantage. Now, let's say that Hagler is able to force his way inside and neutralize Jones' outside rythym boxing prowess. Then what? What answers does Jones have left for Hagler? Clinching?? Jones will have to do better than that.

The argument of those who are dazzled by the speed, power and reflexes of Jones relies on things other than what makes real greatness - things like skill, quality of competition, and how a fighter reacts to real adversity. Hagler cannot match the handspeed of Jones, but in these categories - which I argue are more important in boxing - he trounces Jones. And that would make all the difference in the world in my book.

Most fans and analysts overstate the skill of guys like Muhammad Ali and Jones. I cannot count how many times I have heard the glorification of Jones' skill when it is actually talent that they are watching. No he was not outboxed or out-feinted by Griffin it was pretty close fight and Jones won forgetting the BS DQ and you bring this fight up but what happened in the rematch ?? it just goes to show you what Roy Jones could really do when he was fired up for a fight and you do know Jones had bicep injury after the 2nd round in the Harding fight right ?? and you do know Jones was past his best against Tarver yes ??

Griffin is nothing like Hagler at all Griffin was an awkward fighter and like i said earlier what happened in the rematch ??

I think Jones beats Hagler without much problems. 10 rounds to 2. Or 12 rounds to 3 if it's a 15 round fight.

Hagler was not prime when he fought SRL so do not make Taver exuses if you are going to bring up SRL. Also they do not even fight the same SRL is completly different fighter then Roy. Hagler was a beast would wear Roy down and then either get a UD or get to his chin before the end if it was 15 rounds i would go Hagler late TKO.

Hagler was near enough in his prime against Leonard and was coming off two good victories against Hearns and Mugabi.

Jones moved down from Heavyweight to Lightheavyweight big difference.

Well Roy could not of been that far gone he still only had one lose. I mean i rather lose to a legend by a close fight then get destroyed by a nobody and get killed by a journeyman i mean which would you take.

You just changed the subject the fact is Hagler was not really past his prime he just couldn't get set because Leonard gave Hagler constant movement and was much faster than Hagler.

Watch Jones against Tarver then watch Jones in his prime there is alot of difference his biggest mitake was going up and down in weight.

Jones got knocked out all the way at Light Heavyweight.

And a middleweight bernard hopkins is a huge power puncher and Jones took his shots just fine, and he took James Toney's just fine as well, the few times he got hit.

Why are you bringing up when Jones was past his prime?

He was knocked out past his prime.

Thats like saying Holyfield got knocked out by a former middleweight James Toney and has a glass chin. Think man.

Hagler kills Jones, especially at 160, where Hagler fought his entire career. The Jones that fought Hopkins? Have any of you actually seen that fight? In 1975 that fight was an 8 rounder: the skill displayed was far from impressive. Hagler would beat Jones every time for one simple reason: Jones could do his best and then Marvin would hit him back, hard. Hagler loved to fight and RJJ never had the stomach for it.

I only brought it up because he brought up SRL so i brought up Taver and Ice Hearn had Ok power when he was a CW i think there power is close.

Hey may of started out at Welter but he was 6'1 and he grew in to his body the higher he went up and still carried power.

Roy's footwork, and power would give Hagler fits.. I absolutely don't believe he would win. Hagler could make it close, but Leonard was giving him some troubles, and Leonard's punches wouldn't move him like Roy's would, and though I am not sure if Roy can take him out, the punches he makes any fighter respect him(including James Toney), also Roy's reflexes are unlike anything we've ever seen so Hagler would be getting hit by counters when against anyone else in any point of history would not be able to hit him. Also People are saying Roy has a bad chin, but he didn't early in his career, James Toney who I would consider close to Hagler in punching power manage to counter him a few times cleanly, and Roy took it fine, even at light heavyweight before he came back down he was taking punches from guys who were naturally over 200 pounds without problems. Why would Hagler be able to counter Roy when a better counter puncher and boxer like Toney couldn't? Sure Hagler would beat the Roy that fought HOpkins, but he was really young and green thats not fair. Have them fight at 164 when right after Roy fought Toney, and he would win for sure, though I think Hagler could potentially make it a difficult fight, I believe Roy makes him look relatively silly.
