Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
The once baddest man on the planet may be a 45 year old man or older the next time we see him. Even though I know he has made a lot of mistakes and may not be the best person, I still find myself hoping he doesn't get the maximum sentence. If he does do time, what the hell is he going to do when he gets out? He will be broke without a career and without money. Any thoughts on this?
Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
Anyone that has that kind of money and doesn't take 5 million of it to an investor to lock in decent and safe returns is a fooking idiot. I don't feel sorry for anyone that has gross amounts of money and pisses it away. He could be living like a king just off of his compounding interest.
Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
Mikes not as broke as everyone thinks....People act as though he is on welfare....The guy has a few $...the IRS has to leave you with a certain amount of your money....brike to guys like Mike are 1 or 2 mil
Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
And the saddest thing about this is that Tyson has done this all to himself.

Truth is Tyson may be one of the most knowledgable boxing historians out there,,,there guy knows boxing inside and out...also he is one of the last few people who know's Cus peek a boo training style....He could be a trainer or a historian commentator type if only he could clean his attitude up and controll his anger
Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
It really is a shame his life has been so clouded with bad judgement calls on his part. I don't see prison being of any help to his situation considering what prison is like, but I guess it's what is in his future. Too bad there isn't a better way to help the guy, but old habits are hard to break I suppose; and it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Like someone above said, it would be great to see him use his knowledge as a trainer.
Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
so what is Tyson going down for exactly?

Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
Mike is my hero and i will never forget the hairs on the back of my neck in the earlier days he was ausome i just try to remember him then not now. :( i think he is missunderstood and like someone else earlier he should use all the gifts that he has learned and use it to train.
Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
The saddest man on the planet :(
Poor mike
Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
Tyson like so many before him was saved by boxing , but because of his lack of education he found coping with money and people very hard. I WAS a big Tyson fan in his prime , but i have to say i have no sympathy forsomeone who blows MILLIONS of dollars. He had the world at his feet , and he blew it BIG STYLE , so to be honest i hope he gets wot he deserves , if its a long jail term fineby me , if its a let off fine also , i really dont care about Mike Tyson anymore.
He is just another has been , but the only thing i wish for is that he had fullfilled his potential.

Tyson is 41.
Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
Well he was sentenced to time. ONE DAY! He also got probation and has to pay $3,600. He was very lucky imo he could have easily got 4 years.
Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
Tyson can be the perfect model as to why rehab is better then prison for drug users. If he comes out of this clean (which, with the media light off him I think he has the best chance to), then he can be a model for that. Glad they didn't sentence him to anything and wish him the best in getting well. His fighting days are done, if he continued down the course he was on he could have very well been dead on a hotel bed somewhere so I wish him all the best and maybe he can make the best of a shitty situation.
Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
Tyson charged
"Former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson has been sentenced to 24 hours in jail for drug possession and driving under the influence.
The 41-year-old pleaded guilty in September to charges arising from an incident last December when he was stopped in his black BMW after leaving a nightclub.
Tyson was also given three years' probation at the Superior Court in Mesa, Arizona, on Monday after the judge heard authorities found bags of cocaine in Tyson's pocket and in his car.
The court heard Tyson, a convicted rapist, was seeking treatment for "various addictions" after he admitted he used cocaine "whenever I can get my hands on it".
Speaking in an almost inaudible voice in court, Tyson told the judge: "I take responsibility for my actions."
The boxer, who will begin serving his sentence on Tuesday morning, left the courthouse without speaking to reporters.
Superior Court judge Helene Abrams said she was impressed Tyson was seeking therapy for his drug addiction.
"You worked to address your addiction and self-destructive behaviour," the judge said.
Tyson had faced a possible maximum sentence of four years and three months in prison.
Prosecutor Shane Krausner recommended one year in prison and said Tyson was a multiple offender who had previously been convicted of violent crime.
"Judge, by my calculations, this is his fourth or fifth chance," Mr Krausner said.
In 1992, Tyson was convicted of rape in Indiana and in 1999, he pleaded no contest to misdemeanour assault charges in Maryland.
Mr Krauser said Tyson had only recently sought treatment for his drug addiction.
According to court documents, Tyson was stopped by police who saw him driving erratically after leaving the Pussycat Lounge nightclub in Scottsdale, Arizona.
An officer said he saw Tyson wiping a white substance off the dashboard of his black BMW, and that his speech was slurred.
Tyson told officers later that he used cocaine "whenever I can get my hands on it", and he preferred to smoke it in Marlboro cigarettes with the tobacco pulled out, according to court documents.
He also told police that he used marijuana that day and was taking the anti-depressant Zoloft, the documents state.
Authorities found bags of cocaine in Tyson's pocket and in his car.
Since his arrest, Tyson has checked himself into an inpatient treatment programme for what his lawyer called "various addictions"."
Sad sad story for this man...could have been so much more.
Re: Tyson Being Sentenced Tommorow
Does Tyson has any advisors. How can a man who is on top of the world one minute fall so quickly. I know he has made bad judgement calls, but no one in his position doesn't have advisers. Every sportsman does. They must have absolutely sold him down the drain.
I really feel for Mike, he needs someone to love him, coz he sure doesn't love himself.!
