To me,Mayorgas drunken big mouth is Making and selling this fight.Thats not a bad thing.I just dont see any fire with El Gordo Vargas.

I'll say Vargas TKO 10. I don't think he'll really hurt Mayorga with any single punch. I think Mayorga will just run out of gas eventually.

This one is TOUGH!!!!.....Do you go with Mayorga and his all assults?...or Vargas in hopes he boxes and does not get sucked into a brawl?.....
I am not sure what either has left....though Vargas did manage to go longer with Tito and DLH then Mayorga.....
This is a pick em for me.....I am rooting for Vargas though....not really confident enough in either to pick a winner :-\

I want Mayorga to win. I want to see him extend his career, he makes me laugh :
In the release, Mayorga dissed Vargas, stating: 'I said publicly that ‘fatty’ [Vargas] has always feared me. I conceded to take this fight at 162 pounds because fatty couldn’t lose any more weight."
Mayorga went on to add: "I told the press he is a fat ass like the Mexican singer Paquita la del Barrio."

I got Mayorga too, but to be honest it really sad that this fight attracts the attention it does when you have fights like Guzman v Soto or Haye v Mormeck going relatively unnoticed in comparison.

Vargas by TKO, I like Mayorga and I hope he wins, but he's fighting at a weight way above his natural class, and I think Vargas will probably have more power (based purely on the weight) than anyone else Mayorga has faced before, with the exception (possibly) of ODH, and we all know how that fight ended.

Mayorga is going to come out,swinging for the fences and he may very well land and drop Vargas but due to the added weight,Vargas will be able to get up,weather the storm,use his better boxing fundamentals and win on points after a rocky early 4 rounds.Mayorga belongs,at best,at 154. At 160,162 and 166,whatever the heck weight class this fight is in,does not suit Mayorga's stamina,he's carrying too much weight imo.

I think its a wicked fight, I love it
And i like both guys man, I just wish werent so unorthadox and so inconsistant with theyr careers
Theyr both stars in theyr own rights and if they were to keep busy they could still be on top i think
I disagree that vargas is shot, If anything will affect him come fight night it will be his inactivity and failure to make this fight at a relevant weight class
But i really want this to be a classic
Both fighters deserve this fight to be amazing so that they both have one genuine thing to add to theyr legacies
I even think although mayorga is the lesser fighter skillwise and potential wise he has a better legacy then fernando who its really a shame he hasnt made a bold mark on boxing as he only ever lost to the very very best

Tbh there cutting it fine, it's just Mayorga talks his trash talk ridiculously too far so thats why i hate him....
Would love to see Cotto/Mayorga, Margarito/Mayorga or anyone who would elongate a steady beating on Mayorga for 12 rounds.

Well, Mayorga claimed today that he weighs 156, 10 lbs under the limit, so he should be fit and fast enuff to land on Vargas first and end it. Least I hope so!

Even though I thought he was never the same after Tito Trinidad beat him I still think he has enough to beat Forrest and win the title again, he just needs to take care of business here.
