Is this a fight being hyped up simply by the hope of the challenger knocking off the champion? A few weeks back I had a feeling Hatton would win but I have to be honest, I don't see any way that happens.

I think Mayweather will win but do not underestimate Hatton, he will give PBF a good going over before this fight is finished.
I think Hatton will keep it interesting for the first few rounds while he puts loads of pressure on Mayweather, but because Mayweather is so much faster I think Hatton will have to work double hard just to stay on him, and that, along with sharp counters, will make the end of this look perhaps worse for HAtton than Oscar did in the end against Mayweather. Oscar's overall footspeed is faster than Hatton's, and his handspeed is way faster and the only times he got Mayweather on the ropes is when he threw a whole punch of Jabs in a row or when Mayweather, purposefully went back on the ropes and allowed Oscar to tire himself out.
Sweet Lord I hope Hatton/Mayweather doesn't end up like Holmes/Cooney!!!
Since the post is on the subject. HBO.com/boxing has a GREAT article on how Mayweather vs Hatton is very similar to Rocky Balboa vs Appollo Creed. After reading the article, it gave me a greater sense of the Hatton pulling out the upset IF he sticks to his game plan and does everything he says he can do. CHECK THE ARTICLE OUT!!!
Well there does not seem to be any race war going on.
Plus i do not think people hate PBF like they hated holmes back then people really disliked that man.
What happened in JCC/ Meldrick Taylor 2?Quote:

No its nothing like Holmes vs Cooney at all.
I agree with Dan the fight that resembles Mayweather vs Hatton the most is Duran vs Leonard.
Don't talk nonsense im Mayweather fan and i think Mayweather will win but to say he has no chance is ridiculous.Quote:

The only thing this has in common with Holmes Cooney is that the favorite it black and the underdog is white. There isn't any race baiting going on over this fight, and Hatton, wheither you think he has a chance or not, Hatton is a fully developed fighter in his prime. Cooney was prospect who got rushed and exploited. Cooney would have never beat Holmes, but he could have been a much better fighter if he wasn't handled so poorly.
So, no, this ain't Holmes Cooney.
I'm sure to some sections it might be Holmes/Cooney; to the idiots that want to put it and label it that way. Same could have been said{and probably was by some} that Pavlik/Taylor was similar, except we all saw what happened on that one. I see it more as Duran/Leonard myself, as have a couple of others. Really I just see a very intriguing fight between 2 HUMANS who bleed the same color and walk upright on 2 feet. The rest is just p#ssy sh#t for bigots on both sides.
I think Floyd will be expecting lots of body shots coming his way and will have his elbows tucked in nicely. Hatton will need to go to the head and try to counter Floyd's shots to get some decent body punching in. It is going to be one huge Mountain to climb as Floyd is so fast and smart in there.
If Hatton can keep the punches flying, and non stop, he could out point Mayweather. I cannot see that happening though. I just have a feeling that Mayweather will discourage him more and more as the fight rolls along as he will be one difficult target.
I would prefer it if Mayweather took him lightly and got his a$$ handed to him. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for sure!hehe Hatton will have to fight a fight where he can offer more than what he has in the past. If he can mix it up, throw straight punches, jab his way in and get the uppercut working, he could then keep Mayweather on the defensive enough and pull off a decision.
