Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
I was just thinking, if the Nard fight can't be made, Jones is fighting Trinidad, Pavlik & Taylor are rematching, and Joe wants to fight around March. If everyone is unavailable, is a Kessler rematch the best fight out there?
Woods, Wright & Dawson are around too I guess. Just wanted some thoughts.

Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
Well done taking my question i asked you LOL ;D just thinking my arse joking aside i would like to watch it i felt something was missing from Kessler lastime but im not taking anything away from Calzaghe.
-
Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
the only reason i would wanna see a rematch is coz i like kessler but otherwise there is no point. it was pretty much even until after round 5 and ended up a one sided boxing lesson.
-
Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
The result would be the same!
I do quite enjoy Kess, though!

I'd already made the topic, so it was weird we were thinking the same thing. Personally, I'd love to see it again. The fight was great. I think Kessler is a guy who would study what he did wrong to death before he got back in there. It'd certainly interest me.

Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
It was a proper 50/50 fight and would be again

60/40 for the psychological edge me thinks.

Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
I absolutely do not want to see a rematch. Joe only has a little bit of time left,12 months? He should seek pastures a new. And I also think the fight wasn't close enough to warrant a rematch. I'm not discrediting Kess but I think Joe,at the very least, wants to move up and capture another title in another weight.

Perhaps 55/45

Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
Not me. Joe was too dominant in the fight to spark my interest in a sequel.
I would Rather see Calzaghe or Kessler fight Bute, Froch, Miranda, Pascal, Green or other peeps. Sure the opponents might not be real challenges to them, but they do spark interest being fresh match ups and all.
-
Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
Froch deserves his chance

Not at Joe he doesn't.

Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
I thought at times Froch looked as though he could have been taken by the washed up Reid.

Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
As far as for cementing his legacy in many people's eyes, I don't think Joe should rematch Kessler, time to go on and maybe fight Dawson or someone else at LH. Personally though I'd like to see it again just because it's a good matchup and was an interesting fight. I'd like to see Kessler fight Miranda next year, or if JT moves up, him.

Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
Calzaghe vs Miranda would be good

If Kessler faught Taylor, that would be amazing.

Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
I don't think Joe wants to make 12 stones again, can only see him fighting at light heavy now.
In the last couple of days we get the first hint from Hopkins that he's going to dodge Joe again and opt for RJJ. Makes sense for him, also takes away Joe's two big money US options.
That's why we're now hearing about Calzaghe-Woods. The Hopkins fight may still be made, but it's probably going to be Woods at the Millenium.

And he deserves a shot at Joe?

Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
No perhaps not but can't see another big fight coming soon

No i wouldn't the better man won end of whats the point of a rematch ??

Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
Nah there are much more anticipated match-up than that. Kessler had his shot looked well but lets move on
-
Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch as it was a good fight but Calzaghe has got bigger things in his sights. Plus Calzaghe win was convincing enough that Kessler now needs to fight his way back into contention. By the time thats done Joe maybe retired!

Re: Would you be happy to see Calzaghe fight Kessler again?
I actually think kessler would beat calzaghe in a second fight. too dangerous for calzaghe.

Really? Joe needed a few rounds to figure out Kessler, I don't think Kessler figured out anything about Joe. Joe would most likely win a second time. His experience makes the difference.

I can't see it going any different than the 1st. Calzaghe is just simply better!

Thats ridiculous Calzaghe won clearly by atleast 4 rounds the reason why there is no rematch is because there is no need for one it wasn't controverisal so whats the point ?? the only time it was competitive was the first 4 rounds after that Calzaghe won most of the rounds except for maybe 2 but even they were close Calzaghe won his rounds much more convincing where as even though Kessler may of won some rounds they were still very competitive and Calzaghe made it very hard for Kessler even in the rounds Kessler won Calzaghe was the more hungry fighter he threw over 1000 punches and almost doubled Kessler in punches thrown.

No need really.
Joes proved what he's made of and to be real sincere here I'm not even sure Kess would do any better then what he did the 1st time around.
Maybe down the road if the money is right who know's but right now I just don't see why.
Joe needs to look at other possibilities. Who's next after Hopkins?
Wright.
That's his ticket there take a fight against Winky.

I dunno, after Hopkins I'd like to see Calzaghe in with Woods or Dawson. Depends though what Wright does between now & then...

Joe would shread BCD into pieces and this is coming from someone whos been a fan of BCD for years now. As I type this I pictured Joe toying with BCD just countering BCD, with his hands to the side and slap jabbing BCD in the face. Plus BCD will not bring him what he wants which is $$$ and more exposure. Winky can bring 'em both.

I think a Wright fight is high risk with low reward for Calzaghe. Woods may bring him more $$$ with less risk. Exposure though has to go to Wright. I dunno if Calzaghe would deal with Dawson that easily the boys got mad skills. I'd still favor Joe but it'd be another young tiger defeated!
