I just read that Steward said that Pavlik will be much stronger at 166. Most think the same. Sounds like Stewie is picking Pavlik to beat Taylor at 166. Not much of a confidence builder for Taylor. I hope this motivates him a little more for their second bout. This is a fight I can not wait to see.

I read in a post earlier that Taylor fired Stewart. Is this true? Or was it just a rumor?

I think Taylor will try to pot shot the shat out of Pavlik and as long as Pavlik does not get stupid & think he is in a Clown convention Pavlik should be alright. Shortly after that Pavlik will start landing that Straight right and Left hook and Taylor will reminisce and slowly start to shut down and go to sleep with the compliments of Pavliks 2 Chin Checkers.

Yeah Steward and Taylor aren't working together anymore.
And Pavlik looks like the naturally bigger guy so I think the extra six will probably help him more than it does Taylor. Could be wrong, maybe Taylor was finding it harder to make the weight, but Pavlik's power could get better, legs stronger, that type of thing.

When Stewart made the comment that with Pavlik's performance could've stood up to the great middleweights of all-time, AND the fact that this statement was made with Taylor to his side, it couldn't have helped Taylor's confidence.
Stewart hasn't directly stated it yet, but with that remark, we all know who he has picked to win in the rematch.
I want Taylor to win to set up a trilogy (I LOVE TRILOGIES) but I just don't see it happening. Pavlik is just too strong and too active for Taylor.

I agree that Pavlik will probably win, but do people forget the second round? Taylor has had trouble making weight for awhile and that also plays a factor in the stamina among other things. However if he calmed down ever he would be a great fighter, but he still hasn't calmed down at all in there, and that is why he has only a puncher's chance or Pavlik's chin to win the fight.

Yes i remember second round Pavlik put his hands down and allowed Taylor to tee off that was a learning experience for Pavlik he won't do it again.

People say Taylor had trouble making weight, but Taylors own words says otherwise. He said he didn't work hard enough in camp, he said it was an easy camp and he still made weight. I will be rooting for Pavlik to knock the shit out of Taylor again, but the first fight showed both can be hurt. I am picking Pavlik to win by Ko again. That doesn't mean I'll be right but the odds are in Pavliks favor. Taylor will fade down the stretch as always and then he'll get KO'd again around the 9th round. Thats my pick!

Jermain Taylor is DAMAGED GOODS! Before the 2nd Round against Pavlik, He hadn't scored a KNOCK DOWN in like 3 years! When he finally is able to score a KNOCKDOWN, the guy gets up, survives, and KNOCKS him OUT! not DOWN, OUT!!!! His CONFIDENCE was rattled before their last fight, due to his Home Town Critics! Now the little Confidence he had in September is gone and it will show this Febuary! Pavlik will be STRONGER at this weight and Taylor will find it Harder and Harder to avoid being Stopped Again! Taylor wont be able to push Pavlik back with jabs and hard right hands, and thats how you beat a Kelly Pavlik! YOU GOTTA MOVE HIM BACKWARDS! Taylor will get knocked out again!

Seriously!
I no that my high opinion of the guy is probably clouding my judgement but i feel he's got a lot more to offer the game, should he unlock that potential somehow i feel he may be one of the best guys in boxing...

I like Pavlik, i think he's a truely great fighter and he won the title in the most admirable fashion possible, but i want Taylor to win and as a result, more out of desire than any logic I pick Jermaine Taylor to stop Kelly Pavlik.

Sour grapes for Steward i think ;) I think Taylor can beat him this time he had Pavlik all but out in the 2nd in the last fight and was a head on points before getting caught im going for Taylor but either way i won't be bothered just hope its a great fight for boxing and the fans.

JT needs to work on getting to Kelly's body more. Everyone seems to headhunt Pavlik but when is someone going to hunt that thin frame? Pavlik will be ready for that right hand of Taylor's over the top, but Taylor should zero in on that body IMO. If JT stays out in the middle of the ring he'll likely get caught like he did last time after he starts gassing, as he sems to do on occasion. He can't get put to the ropes and trade shots upstaires with Pavlik as eventually Kelly will wear him down that way with sheer volume of punches. So he might as well get in close with Pavlik and try to negate those monkey arms that Kelly has so much reach with and work the body, tie up when necessary. Am I off base with this? Regardless, he better do something different or he'll get the same as last time. I still pick Pavlik to crush him again. I am a fan of both and though I would be upset :'( if Taylor won, it would set up what would be a highly anticipated trilogy.

Is that something people can change though? Seems like its just his nature as a fighter, he's just a nervous fighter. Its one of the main reasons he tires so badly.

Willie Pep didn't knock out many fighters but he was one of the best fighters pound for pound of all time....your knowledge of boxing is extremely limited if you think someone has to KO someone to win.
Bernard Hopkins, Winky Wright, and Kelly Pavlik all combined have been knocked out 0 times
JT can win by decision just like anyone else
