Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
Not a bad list. I think u have most of the names there, think maybe they could be in a different order tho.
ODLH Calzaghe and Toney are too high.
Can u have Holyfield 7 spots in front of Lewis?
No Sanchez? No Arguello? No Pryor? No Nelson?
Not a bad effort tho.

Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
No way Leonard is number one. And where the fuck are Terry Norris and Ricardo Lopez at? Any p4p list that doesn't include Lopez is garbage

Good call on Lopez. I like too many others forget him at times. Stupid really.

Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
WEll help me out then VD i have trouble thinking of everyone from the past 30 years who ranks Higher then Leonard. Also egal i put Holfield ahead because he started his career at 175 and form there became a champion in CW and HW so i put him ahead of Lennox maybe i am wrong hard after 10. And the only people i consider the same with Leonard are Duran, Jones, Whitaker and Hearns the others i see behind him.

I'll but Leonard behind Jones, Hagler, Whitaker, Hopkins and Lopez.

Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
Hagler never moved up in weight and Roy well i guess you could say he is up there but SRL,RJJ,Duran and Witaker are at the top. And if you look at there competition how many championships they won in different division and how dominate there were it is very close.

I'll put Leonard behind Arguello, Mayweather and Toney as well.
-
Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
How do you rank them ahead i find it hard to put Mayweather ahead in accomplishments and Tony as for Arguello i did not follow his career enough to make a call on him to be honest with you give me the reason you think they are ahead of Leonard and i will gladly read and them respond to you.
-
Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
im sorry 140 , but i think that is a bad list
-
Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
Well if is a bad list then tell me a better one then Headson i like to see who you think should be up there.
-
Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
Mine would be something like this:
1. Duran
2a. Whitaker
2b. Leonard
4. Jones
5. Hagler
6. Chavez
Tough to rank Mayweather because he's still only 30 and we have no idea yet how his career ends. If he were to fight a couple more times over the next year or so against good competition, then I'd have to put him above Jones.
-
Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
Thank for the list Sweet Pea i see mine is off compared to yours but we have the same names cc for the list.
-
Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years

-
Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years

No one could EVER show you the right list, lists are like ass holes everybody has one.
It's all on your judgement.
-
Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
Well i looked both men up and did some looking at those records and who they beat and i can not see anyone ranking over SRL in the past 30 years Pernell did not do enough and not even Duran but over 40 years i put him ahead of SRL besides that i guess i look at rating different then others do. But cc Cut you have a lot of about boxing so you know what your talking about even if it is something i do not see.

I agree that Leonard shouldn't be #1, but I wouldn't penalize him too much for Norris and Camacho. Leonard was an old, old fighter by then. I wouldn't penalize him much for those fights, just like I wouldn't like penalize Roberto Duran for losing to Vinny Pazienza or Pernell Whitaker losing to Felix Trinidad.

Take no notice of my post i thought he said 20 years my bad.
-
Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
I know sweet pea that why i change the post and i said now that it is 30 would you still fault me for putting ray first. And i know you are going to say Duran but if i said 40 years i would put Duran ahead of leonard but not the past 30 though.
-

I wouldn't put Ray #1. If you see my list, I had Ray tied for 2nd with Pernell, with Duran #1. Leonard was an all-time great fighter, I just wouldn't put him #1.

Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
Yea i missed Barrea and Morlas and Holmes i mention them earlier and JCC just to let you know i just have not made my list yet.
-
Re: The top pound for pound fighters in the last 30 years
Well look the reason i put Leonard just ahead of duran is for this reason look at how well Duran did form 1977 on and Leonard form 1977 and on. I think Leonard did better then Duran did in that time period now if you were to say Duran career form 1968 on he have a better record then Leonard did. But if we are talking 30 years like i said look at who they beat and who beat them Leonard is ahead of Duran if you look at how well they did.
