it might just be possible 08 will be better than 07
Good news. That already makes several big fights for 08' and no telling how many more will join the list.
Phenomenal news. Can't wait.
Credit to Pacquiao for signing up for this fight.
will be for the first time a 130 fighter is given the ring belt?
Shame tho, both barrera and morales should of had it at some point at 125 and 130...
Looks like David Diaz is gonna skate on by with his WBC title
Noone worth mentioning is going to be available, maybe Nate Campbell, but I'm not really sold on him.
I am very excited for PAC/JMM II. Pac will have more firepower and JMM will be more focused early on,
should be a cracker. 2008 is looking very good for the little guys.
CC for the news, BRILLIANT
Credit to Marquez for taking this fight with Pacquiao gaining more money.
Whoop whoop! Finally boxing's matchmakers have started to realise what the fans want and what makes money in 07 and 08. Big matchups like this are great for the future of the sport, and will enthuse the fans more, and draw new fans in cause there's gonna be fireworks when those two meet....GUARANTEED!
DISCLAIMER: This guarantee by no means is a legal guarantee and is used for exaggaration purposes only. For those looking to reclaim monies....sodjer!
Finally! I see Marquez winning this one. Pac seems like he has to kill himself to make 130 these days. Add to that...Barrera actually fought one half of a great fight plan against Pac...moved in circles, stepped back...made Pac miss quite a bit. It's just that Marco could no longer let his hand go and mix it up. If Marquez is his usual sharp counter punching self...i see him winning a great fight. Can't wait!
so much for the clowns that kept trying to insist pac would duck from a fight. what a bunch of douche.
pac will win no doubt, jmm after all these years just like mab finally wants a fight with pac. For one real reason, chi-ching $$$$$ for his retirement income ofcourse.
Two things that most definently don't go together...douche bags & clowns...but oddly enough...leave it to a Pacquiao fight to bring out the best of both worlds. ;DQuote:

:coolclick: After all this time...you finally understand me. That was 100% for you & for that exact reason...to make you chuckle...because you can bet your ass that once they both step into that ring...all jokes are set aside & my ass is on the edge of me seat sweatin it out in nervous anticipation of the 12th & final round! DING DING!!!Quote:

yea im excited too. I told u guys pac don't duck nobody.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Thanks Manny for not picking David Diaz!
here is the deal, if he defeats jmm then what will pac prove? that he beats old worn out guys? that pac needs to fight valero or guzman or whoever is young legit and bigger than him just to prove that he is great.
if jmm wins, will he be number 3 p4p? does he have the charisma to be on the top 3?
I heard Valero-Joan Guzman is in the works. If Pacquiao wins over Marquez I would love to see him face the winner of that which would probably be Guzman.
it would take away the memory of the draw which was suppose to be technically a win for pac. It'll clear things up and is the best possible fight to go through. It would most importantly shut up some of the remaining pac critics.Quote:

Nothing...& I MEAN NOTHING...is worn out about Marquez.
People bitched because Marquez was a safety first fighter, people bitched when he set down solely into countering, & people bitched when he started standing in the pocket & trading.
Just get over it...nothing is wrong with Marquez.
PERIOD & if Pac totally handles Marquez...& I mean convincingly...I will be one of the first to applaude him for it.
But that's just me.
If Pac beat JMM, I'd have to move him back up on the p4p chart, for sure.
JMM is a very tough matchup for anyone...period. Beating him would be a huge win, especially given the way the last bout went.
j.marquez is gonna win nuff said
This is good, I did think the ducking talk was premature.
I would probably say that Pacquaio's improved more since their first fight but its still a hard fight to call.
Julius Marvelous Rain and wacko thanks, actually i knew that all along i was just stressing the other possible opinions of pac haters.
And if he loses that Pac has feasted on old farts in decline ?Quote:

If Pacman wins, I wish to see him moving up in weight class to fight Juan Diaz. This would be a terrific fight!!!
if pac loses? that is possible since jmm is a very great fighter, but pac can go up in weight which his already planning to do and win a title there. If he wins i'm sure you'll consider jmm an old far in decline too. If jmm doesn't beat pac I really can't see anyone else beating him not in lightweight nor featherweight. juan diaz, guzman and casamayor would give him some new looks but pac will eventually conquer them. Jmm is the man at superfeatherweight after pac leaves it or if he beats pac. Pac will win though, jmm is really a great fighter but pac is much greater now.Quote:

Whoever wins has SERIOUS claim for P4P number 1 or joint number 1 with Floyd depending how he looks v Hatton.
you still think, pac is a ducker?Quote:

I expect Pacquiao to take the first few rounds because Marquez remember's what happened last time. so Marquez will very cautious in the first few rounds, then after about 4 rounds Marquez will start to feel relaxed, and then he will use his great countering skills to win a UD i don't think this fight will be as good as there 1st meeting.
from what i've heard, pac just needed time to decide going up in weight or staying to fight jmm. The money was equal, and the credit seem to be as equal also. Beating jmm is a great feat, but the wispers in pacs ears is that people are getting tired of him fighting the same guys over again. He wanted david diaz as an easier first fight then jaun diaz, but ultimately pac wants to fight younger and bigger fighters at lightweight.Quote:

The first round kept him more convince jmm was a lesser fighter then mab and eric but after that first round it define who jmm was. a classic really, but pac seem to be over looking jmm again. Lets see how jmm will respone can he define himself as the best of the best this whole time. Or pac will shut him down this time around.
Or will it be another draw, both fighters finding their match from one another ;D
Really looking forward to this one. :)
JMM by UD.
Schaefer praised Marquez and told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today “this fight is not for money, for him it is for pride.” Schaefer added “if you would know what kind of sacrifices he made to get the fight it would frankly blow everyone’s mind.” AND
At the same time Schaefer said “I do not deserve the credit for getting this fight done. There is only one person who deserves that credit and that is the last Mexican legend standing: Juan Manuel Marquez.”
THAT is what you call a TRUE warrior. JMM fighting for himself, his legacy and willing to make concessions in order to get the fight he wants. I miss this attitude from today's businessmen/fighters.Had JMM taken the aroogant,I'm not getting enough $$$,I want this, that etc, we would not even be seeing this fight. Thanks to JMM,we are and I seriously seriously want him to win.
I agree Julius,at that time, not many knew who JMM was and so he was overlooked. I don't think Manny will make that same mistake again although,I GUARANTEE,if he fights like he did v MAB in his last fight,he is going to lose.
If JMM beats Pacquiao where does he go from there a fight with Guzman possibly ??
he'll go on and beat everyone else in the division til he retires.Quote:
