I know Boxrec isn't reliable source but i am really looking for forward to this match up if this happens Gomez has made quite alot of improvements since The Contender should be good match up.

Chavez Jr., fought 11 times in 2004 and 10 times in 2005 and this is from the kid who did not want to follow in his fathers footsteps. I think Gomez will win this one quite easy Chavez is 34-0 but he has'nt really fought anybody Gomez has fought the better fighters.

Chavez camp is underestimating Gomez, They are thinking of him purly as a TV show guy who has enough exposure to elevate Jr's status here in the states and line up a big fight for him.....

I think a lot of us have been watching him mature from a boy into a man in the last couple of years thanks to hbo showing a lot of him, he has gotten so much better with every fight and seems very level headed and respectful in and out of the ring. Hes hard not to like. I think his team have done a hell of a job with him keeping in mind he had no amateur fights.Quote:

Yep Gomez will prevail IMO he's been with the bigger names, bigger occasions and has tasted defeat and also big for a welterweight wheras there is too much expectation on Chavez JR.
