The Contender - Latest info ((Spoiler))

Im still upset after watching the episode last night, that Juan decided to leave. He was my favorite kid on the show and he ended up leaving because he was scared of his injuries. I really wanted him in perfect shape for the next round so he can kick the next persons ass. And they said while he was training..he was the"real deal" but after his match, he wasnt. I mean cmon, he was so frustrated and had such a bad boxing night and he still kicked tarricks ass.. and people judge him on a one night box. Hes still the best in my mind..but i got to watch the show without him now :(

And more great news!! Ahmed is coming back! If you watched the preview of the next episode..ahmed is back. I dont understand why they would bring him back. I thought all those men were "lets bring the toughest guys in here." So why didnt they bring back Johnathon Reid? The best one out of the eliminated. Ahmed wasnt the worst one either...so i dont see why they would choose him to come back, but i really hate him. But it will be interesting..i hope he boxes sergio and kicks his ass because i hate sergio super bad and to be beat by ahmed..that would suck. But a 2 fight episode of the elite eight next sunday! so excited!Â

I definately agree with you. How are they going to say that they thought he was the real deal watching him spar and they found out he wasn't from watching one fight? He beat his man down, that's what counts. And by talking trash about him they're showing they can't make up their mind.

Yea man for real. And that sergio guy was like..him and joey would be a good match, but joey would knock him out. I was like WHAT!?!?!? lol juan would kick his ass. But what pissed me off was that Juan said that he would lose the second round and his injury came at the right time or something..i was pissed he didnt have confidence and he left for partly for a good record and for his future. i really liked the kid..just seeing him smile and kid around on every episode.. when they announce the doble headder on sunday the presented clips of pther fights and I saw Ames( piece of SH!T) just hate the guy. KO someone.

Yeah I think Ahmed is coming back, when they said, " We are gonna throw a wrench in it". That meant Ahmed is coming back and Delarosa is smart because he knew he was gonna end up losing, why give up a loss when you can walk away clean and having beaten a formidable opponent.

He is a younger version of Iron Mike..he just goes out there and punches crazy..except he doesnt have enough strength yet like Mike had..by the time he was mikes age in mikes prime..he will be as strong and be as good as Iron Mike.

You guyz are idiots he fought like a friggin amateur just as sugar ray leonard said also throughout the whole fight he left himself open for punches, had no defence and was very easy to hit, he was very lucky he was fighting Tarick who is not a power puncher as he had only 4 knockouts in his career also it was his first fight back in 3 yrs and still tarick hurt him like 2wice in da fight. and as De la rosa was leaving if you would have paid attention de la rosa admitted that if he would have stayed in the tournament he would have lost and that his undefeated record means a lot him. the injury angle was just an excuse for him to pull out. Joey fought Jimmy lange with a hurt leg and he was the underdog. To me De la rosa might have the skills but not the right attitude to be considered a contender.

Ahmed might be someone people love to hate but he brings drama to the fight and nothing makes boxing more exciting than drama. People hated Naseem but they would still watch him just to see what stunt would he pull off in hisnext fight.

O.K. so the young Tyson was a stretch , but Rocky. Tsk Tsk , all in all what everyone is trying to say is he has a lot of potential. Before the show even started I took a liking to the kid and followed the show mainly for him and Ishe.

Chamiley He's also 18 and pretty much skipped his amatuer career. So just as normal 18's year old He's still Learning the sport . 13-0 and 18yo that means he turned pro before 18, So he is entitled to mistakes just as he's entitled to bad decisions he's a kid.

Teens make bad decisions but they're young, he's still undefeated he had the same 15 mins of fame as everyone on there except for whoever the winner is going to bee. Maybe if he had another four years under his belt he'd have a legitimate shot the kid made an 18 year olds decision and decided to try to preserve his unbeaten record. Can I just ask what did you see on that programme that made/makes you think he was/is going to be anything but that kid who chickened out on that TV show.

I thought when I first seen him, he is 18 he will be in there because he is shit hot, but just like Balco said he was in there because his face fit and thats it.

oh shit. they said jaun was like 12 an 0. i only saw four fight on his record. he turn pro in 2002 and only has 4 fights.

am i the only one that notices that it's bacily always a UD at the end of the fight. also at the end of the 4th round sly says it's dead even. every fight he says that same shit.

But Rocky I'll never say that. I'm glad to se you are a hoopster, me to I love basketball. Hence the name. It's beyond time to be optimistic everyone involved from that show shoul be banned from boxing.

IMO - this show isn't done very well for boxing fans at all.

Boxing fans want to see uncut boxing, and these fights are edited w/ focus on the drama - clearly trying to appeal to the "reality show addicts" IMO.

I haven't been watching much of the show, but the yahoo site does a good job of including fights and lengthy clips after the shows air.

Nobody is talking about Joey Gilbert, personally, he seems sharp, minus the injury. I am slightly biased because I saw him fight in Tahoe last year, and he looks good, decent begining record, and fights w/ decent skill.

My take on his fight is that the fight probably looked alot different if you were to see the un-edited version (as I am sure most would), they make it look like he won the first 2 rounds, then he repulls his hamstring, looks like he looses the next 2, then comes back strong in the 5th to take the decision - despite how the fight may have looked in all reality, can't take anything away from somebody that dominated a fight w/ an injury. He through some sloppy flurries at the end of the rounds, looks like he may have been making up for lost points - good plan.

... just my 2 cents.

I jjust hope they don't edited the finals. That will suck a$$.

i like ahmed im glad hes coming back i like his cocky style, and yes he does bring drama to the show which in my opinon it would be insteresting

i was very impressed with joey gilbert.

Anyhow, hes like tyson a lot to me. Look at tysons fights..he walks in..throws in a few punches as hard as he can and the guy is down. Thats what Juan does..except he doesnt have the power yet. Tysons punches were mostly power punches.. And he fought like an amateur because he IS AN AMATEUR. Stop making it like its a big deal..and it was just one measly fight which he said was a sloppy fight himself. Now i agree Juan didnt have the attitude to stay and fight and wussy out, but still i bet he could whoop all their asses..especially when he is their age. Why rip on the kid.

As for the show..it probably has been edited with the sound effects..but im sure the conversations during the match werent planned. And for sure the match results couldnt have been planned. Neither the acting. And also the final match is live..so they cant fool around with that. The show is more real than any other reality show that has been here. I doubt what you guys found on the boxing site is true about de la rosa.
