Re: THERES ONLY ONE RICKY HATTON, ONLY ONE RICKY HATTON
Imagine the screams if Hatton drops mayweather and he doesn't get up...
It's the stuff of dreams, but i'll be up out off my seat, jumping around the house yelling for 10 minutes if it happens....

Anyone can be beaten. Hatton imo would lose to 5 or 6 current welters.. I don't think his mentality is really what it boils down to.

The thing is, fundamentally Floyd Mayweather jr. is not a Welterweight. Nor is Ricky for that matter...
He is preparing to face Floyd Mayweather and in doing so he will be preparing to face a man who unlike most Welter's is naturally 147 (or under) who will not put on 9-10 pounds before the fight and who come fight night will be lighter than he is himself.
Mentality in boxing is crucial. Coupled with the obviously great physical condition that Hatton is in, it becomes even more of a benefit.

Re: THERES ONLY ONE RICKY HATTON, ONLY ONE RICKY HATTON
It was on the breakfast tv, talking to Hatton and saying 20,000 (or 30,000 depending on the report you hear) fans have landed, Vegas has seen nothing like it (apart from when Nascar hicks are in town) 8)

I understand that... But I wouldn't pick Mosley, or Cotto over Hatton due to their being full fledged welters and his coming from 140... I would give Hatton little chance because they are better fighters than he is, as is Mayweather. Size clearly isn't the issue in this fight. In terms of other WW's who Id pick over Hatton, fair enough size is huge.. Margarito, Williams, Cintron, Clottey.. Those guys would just be too big on fight night for Hatton. Mayweather will just be better than he is and better than anything he's seen. That's why I don't feel Hatton's mentality is enough.. Sure it's crucial. But obviously Mayweathers mentality has never done him wrong, I think it's safe to say both guys will be determined to execute their gameplan. Floyd is just a more talented athlete and better schooled fighter than he is, and I don't think it will be much more complicated then that. Maybe it's a bit like an old Cus D'amato quote..."In boxing, the man with the stronger will always wins, unless his opponent's abilities are so superior his will is never tested." Now Im not even saying Mayweather couldn't dig deep if he had to, I just don't think he will.

I feel that Mayweather has been brought to the limits of his abilities before and had to dig deep and sho will (Castillo fight, even a brief period in Jesus Chavez fight) But what one must factor inb for this fight is that Hatton will be relentless.
Not in the sense that most fighters are viewed as being relentless, but working angles constant movement and numerous punches.
However i can see that ur mind is pretty closed to the subject, so il let Ricky change your mind 2moror night.

Re: THERES ONLY ONE RICKY HATTON, ONLY ONE RICKY HATTON
Another way of looking at this is if Ricky was a dubious LWW belt holder you could say he might get found out at a higher weight, or he might have some success
The thing is with Ricky that he is an outstanding LWW in a different league to anyone at LWW
On that basis how can he possibly not have a great shout at Welterweight belts

I know Hatton will try to be relentless, but if Mayweather finds a home for the straight right early it won't matter how badly Hatton want's to get inside and do damage, I don't think he'll be able to sustain enough punishment. And I wouldn't count your chickens as far as Ricky proving me wrong tomorrow night... I really can't see it happening. I wonder how many people are picking with their hearts here and actually realize Hatton is in deep shit. The fact that the quick poll on here has as many Hatton votes as Mayweather is actually pretty funny imo.

Re: THERES ONLY ONE RICKY HATTON, ONLY ONE RICKY HATTON
Hatton keeps on saying the fans love him they hate Floyd all he brings is the title and all that BOLLOCKS!! if that was true why were all the fans snapping photos of Floyd on there mobiles as he came into the last press conferance and shaking his hand its all panto.
