Now im not a Hatton fan but to call him a B level fighter is abit of a disgrace really he was leading most of the polls so nobody thought he was B level then all that happened was he lost to the best it would have happened had they fought at lightwelter to.Hatton can go on to win more fights and championships at Welter or Lightwelter he is still an A level fighter he is number 1 lightwelter for gods sake.
B level fighter to me is just short of World Class, Hatton is World Class at his mauling and brawling style and he does that well but his boxing skills overall are B Level imo.
I feel Ricky is A level, but we must take into consideration this fight...
Will it knock his confidence and change him into a safety first fighter who selects his opposition carefully?
Or will it invigorate him and turn himinto a fighter who chases down the best to ensure a legavy?
Hatton is world class. Mayweather is just a level above anything I've ever seen. I actually think he has an argument to be consdiered the best fighter ever, because he looks unbeatable.Quote:

Hell no. Be a man and step up. If you think you belong there enough to challenge the top dog and give him a good fight, then go ahead and stay there. If he goes back to 140 again he will lose the respect of a lot of fans.
Maybe he should've never gone up to 147 but the fact is that there is nothing for him at 140 and now that he made the move he should stick to it.
I think Hatton should fight Cotto i think Hatton could win this one.

Right ok. Hattons first showing against Collazo granted was not that great. He had a bad night and was nowhere near in the shape he was when he fought floyd on Sat night. Not only that he just had a bad night against Collazo, just one of those things.Quote:

Height is an advantage but its not the only differentiator. I think Hatton has the style and determination to beat Williams, margarito and Mosely (who is way past his best). Cotto may be a problem. Cotto is only what 5ft 7 or 8ish. Would he get beaten by williams simply because williams has a long reach and it tall? Height is an advatage but i think Haton would develop a game plan around it. One thing is for sure Williams sue does have a big a** ribcage ;)
Anyway. In short i just think there are fights to be had for Ricky at Welter. he doesn't HAVE to move back down to Light welter like everyone is screaming because he had one particular bad night against collazo and then got beat by the best fighter of this era. Just my opinion.
You're telling jokes. Hatton wouldn't exist anymore if he stepped into the ring with Cotto. He'd get pounded into molecules. Zab hit Cotto harder than anyone I've ever seen and he didn't stop. Hatton could fair well at WW, but he had only his second fight there against an established p4p king. He should have had a few fights there before facing Mayweather, but the money was right so you cant blame him.

In two fights at welter he has in the opinion of the majority lost them both. More importantly even though Collazo and Floyd were considered two of the smallest top welters, not being as big and strong as the others they both managed to outstrength and outhustle Ricky.
There is no shame in losing to Floyd Mayweather but to be beaten up and outstrengthed by him at welter doesn't bode well for a fight against a real welter.
Floyd at welter is fighting well above his natural weight class and wins there because of his superior boxing abillity, painting a very elusive target and not allowing any of these guys to get near him.
Against Hatton he stayed and fought on the inside and beat Hatton at his own game.

I think B/B+ is fair to Hatton. He's a top fighter, but not elite. The elite fighters he beat were either old or inactive, or both and he struggled mightily with a solid B fighter in Collazo. Hell, he struggled with a C fighter in Urango.
Compare what a prime Castillo was able to do with a prime PBF in their first fight to what a somewhat blown-up PBF did to a prime Hatton.
I don't see much left for Hatton at 147. He doesn't have the chin to deal with Cotto. He's not going to win a war of attrition with Margarito or Mosley. His best chance is with Williams who may be slim enough for Hatton to push around and maybe hurt but I think he's too sharp and rangy. He can still make some good fights with guys like Witter, Holt and Torres. He's flawed enough that all those fights are competitive. The Holt and Witter fights are pick 'ems IMO.
