Floyd moving up.

Okay am I mad even suggesting Floyd take a fight at 160?

I think it would be a pretty good move for him.

I mean he did fine at 154. The guys at 160 arent really anything special(Pavlik, Taylor) and it would go a massive way to giving him the big legacy if he won a middle weight title, world champ at six different weight divisions.

After that he could see how things panned out at WW. If things go like most suspect Cotto will probably clean up and if PBF then fights him it will look even better if he wins because he Cotto will be the clear best in class.

A pop at a title at 160 and then Cotto(after a few more fights) at WW would be an end to Floyds career that would clearly put him up there with the greats....but could he do it ???

I'd only say yes to that if Cory Spinks had gotten the decision he deserved against Taylor.

Then Mayweather Spinks at 160 would work for that.

But the rest of them I just think are too big for Mayweather

Obviously it would be incredibly interesting to see. I think Floyd could beat a guy like Pavlik or Jermaine if he fought the right fight, that is sticking and moving obviously.

Because IMO, as slick as his defense is, if he lays against the ropes against someone like Pavlik he's not going to last. There is a huge difference in Hatton hitting your arms and shoulders and a guy like Pavlik hitting your arms and shoulders. But again, I think Floyd could possibly exploit the rediculous speed disadvantage and pull off a UD. It would be an incredible feat.

Floyd is not a risk taker...pure and simple. We will be lucky if he fights one of the bigger Welterweights (like Williams) let alone move up to 160 to fight guys like Pavlik and Taylor. I can only see him moving up if he was going to be fighting a complete stiff or an over the hill fighter...otherwise way too dangerous for him.

Come on guys lets be serious, Pavlik is massive for a middleweight and could well be fighting at light heavy by the end of his career. Floyd is small even for a welterweight.

To suggest Floyd could or should take a fight with Pavlik is like suggesting Pavlik should take a fight with Wladimir Klitschko

He obviously would not dare step in a ring with a huge fighter/puncher way past his weight class.

You are joking right ?? they may not be special but they would still beat Mayweather, it would be a mismatch 6 foot 1 Pavlik would kill little Mayweather who started off as Superfeatherweight, just think about this logically for a second your talking about big Middleweights, who on fight night are up to 168 and Pavlik is over 170. Mayweather couldn't even get up to 154 limit he was 150 when he fought Oscar De La Hoya.

Haha! Fair enough brazilianbomber. You dug up my past. CC for that. But in my defense...my previous posts where littered with "IF'S". If Oscar should up sharp and in great shape, etc. etc. I never unequivocally said Oscar was going to win. I stated if Oscar showed up ready it would be a good fight and a potential upset. I was wrong. But i still do not think that was a prime Oscar nor do i think fighting Oscar at 154 is nearly the same risk as fighting a Pavlik or Tyalor.

I don't hate Floyd at all. I think if you dig up any of my previous post (which you probably already have)...you will see i think he is a great fighter. I just don't think his resume is as outstanding as some people make it out to be. That's my personal opinion...no need to hate me for it because it doesn't agree with your views.

Floyd moved up to 160 he would only do it for an immediate title shot...and Pavlik would hit Floyd so hard "Pretty Boy"...Or Should I call Him "MONEY" ??? Mayweather would be.....

Broke and Ugly by time they picked him up off the canvas...TOOO much power and size even for Floyd

haha pavlik would knock the fwock out of floyd if he ever goes up there with the big boys.

floyd needs to stay at 147, he can't just let cotto wear himself down by beating all the othe welterweights. floyd needs to do half the work. It isn't fair for floyd to just let cotto do all the hard work then take the match only when cotto has beaten everyone else. Floyd needs to fight REAL WELTERWEIGHTS from now on!!!!!!! PERIOD!

Floyds made a career out of embarrassing bigger, hard hitting guys.

Thing is, of late, he's started taking a breather and whilst Hatton never caught him cleanly, Floyd would definitely feel another 20 or so pounds beating him around the arms and shoulders.

I think he could hang at 160...they'd have to look long and hard at the opponent though....
