Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
http://www.frankwarren.tv/drill/News...s-out-win.html
Looks like Arthur definitely didn't have things his own way. On the one hand there is the sentence about predicting Arthur will be crowned the full WBO champion with Guzman expected to vacate, but if he struggles with Foster Jr, how on earth is he going to cope against world-level fighters? Even the gatekeepers could give him issues.
There's also mention of a possible match-up against Scott Harrison. I think that might be what Warren has in mind for March.

Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
Thought young Steve would give him trouble.

Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
Arthur is gona get KTFO when he gets top proper world level....
-
Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
Gudnite He doesnt seemed to have evolved in the last 2 years, no matter what the pundits say.
-
Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
I agree with you both, and I think that if Guzman does vacate next year it'll be a big burden off Frank Warren's back, who can give him fringe contenders for a few fights more until putting him in with a real world class fighter.
The talk of Juan Manuel Marquez is easy enough to reel off, but with JMM looking at much bigger dollars than the change Warren would throw his way for a fight with Arthur, it is almost inevitably empty talk.
Arthur v Harrison would be quite a good one though, did anyone see any clips or anything of Harrison? I believe he was at ringside last night?

Super, Harrison looked well and relaxed

Low blow (cough) Bilbo....Harrison's trying to get over all that, and even if he was relaxed on the outside, I bet he was worried about being back in the public eye again.

Ahh I changed my line now to make it funnier.

Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
After hearing this result it really does suggest now Arthur would get KNFO by the elite of the division such as Guzman and Marquez etc

You really need to wait until last night to find that out? I could have told you years ago when Gomez knocked him out.

Gomez slaughtered Arthur i remember that he kept walking into left hooks all the time, i agree Bilbo i have never thought Arthur was elite.

Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
I said ages ago that he'd never be able to compete at the top.
IMO Johanesson and Mitchell would give him all he can handle.
He was completely out of it in the 11th.....fook knows how he survived that.
Credit to him for showing a lot of heart but he aint beating anybody at world level.

Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
thats a great shame for Arthur, i expected a lot more from him. Hes going to find it very hard on the world level stage.

Alex Arthur -not world class-assosiated with Frank Warren-WBO champion-unworthy challengers
THIS SOUNDS VERY FAMILIER ,KEEP UP THE QUALITY WORK FRANK ;D

Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
He was getting caught from Fosters over hand right all the time i found it funny when he got knocked out of ring. He will get ko'ed when he fights 1 of the big names.

As I said, great shame for him. He needs to get the bigger fights, maybe he can up his game, but i dont no. Lots of thoughts must be going through his mind on it now though.

Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
Now that its finally clear Arthur hasn't got a prayer with any elite fighter, it wouldn't be surprising to see him move up and get served-up to Khan in the not to distant future.
Otherwise, barring a fight with Harrison, the winner of Mitchell-Carl would make for a cracking fight.
Especially if Mitchell wins, out with the old in with the new.
-
Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
But for the case of AA if he fights the winner of that fight, that isnt moving on that much either. Its staying at British level and although it would be appealing here, Mitchell and CJ are not well known at all on the world level.
-
Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
Arthur can't beat no-one on the world level.
If he gets his hands on the WBO belt proper who do you think he'll be fighting? He'll defend the title against absolute no-names. Similar to Enzo Macc.
I'd sooner see him fight top Brits like Mitchell and Carl.

I agree with what your saying, but i HOPE he can leave the British level and fight world level fighters. Its a great shame if he doesnt and Warren should be fired.
As for Enzo Mac he has faught on the world level a little bit more, but his devison doesnt offer too much. I do believe he is very near the top of it though. He should fight JMM ( not marquez ) ;D

Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
But the probalem is
if Warren matched him against world class fighters he'd get beat.
There's no point in matching Arthur out of his depth. Especially when you can manoeuvre fighters into becoming "world" champions without even fighting for the "world" title (the champion) ::**

Thats true....to be honest most promoters are up to the same tricks. There's basically 4 world titles that you can shoot for. Chances are to win one of them you might only have to beat the 15th best fighter in your weight class.......in Gavin Rees case.

Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
can't see AA beating any of the elite, but his fight with Foster was a great one!!
talent wise he's not the greatest but he's been in some exiting fights and shows alot of
heart! The Gomez fight was a great one for anyone who likes slugfests!!

Re: Alex Arthur survives Foster Jr Scare
Arthur ain't elite. But he's a good fighter. And I enjoy watching him. And I would take him to knock Con out

Warren put one of his money makers in Arthur against another of his money makers in Khan? Crazy talk....
