Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...uEsGDKnRD.html
Uh, is Mundine on crack? Saying he ducks no one, and yet he signs to fight Nader fucking Hamden. A bloke who lost his last fight Mads Larsen
Why is Mundine not mentioning Mikkel Kessler? Why is only interested in reheating leftovers against people he has already beat. Not even a speculative calling out of Calzaghe in what could be a megafight. Why?
You know it, and I know it - Mundine is fucking terrified of any of the division's big names.
Nader Hamden. JOKE.
*Edit made on the title.

Re: Anthony Mundine is a dickhead
If he wants a name he now needs to get in with the 168 mix and prove he is in at the top. The 168 devision is going to be amazing this year and Mundine can offer a lot to it, so i hope he can get involved. I dont like the fact that he is fighting bums to be honest.

I think Mundine has lost interest in fighting the best and is just after easy money for the time being.

Re: Anthony Mundine is a dickhead
ha, I heard about this and was actually thinking of starting a thread asking if there's any "elite" or championship level fighter that fights more journeyman than Mundine.
In his last 11 fights he's fought guys named Jose Alberto Clavero, Pablo Nieves, Ruben Acosta, Rico Chong Nee, Rashid Matumla, Darmel Castillo, Juarne Dowling, and Shawn Sullivan. That's 8 out of his past 11 fights, a couple of these guys had stellar records like 10-6 and 9-7 :o Its hilarious.
Granted the other three included Kessler, very good, and two respectable guys in Soliman and Green but still its shocking. Now he's fighting this Hamdan guy, its unbelievable. I think he's a good fighter actually but his choice of opponents is laughable for a guy at his level.
-
Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
Wish they'd get Alan Greene in with Mundine, would be a good fight.
-
Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
Froch-Mundine would be a cracker ! ;D
-
Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
I thought Mundine was blind in one eye and couldn't fight anymore? Did I miss something?
-
Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
He had a bad eye infection with some form of yeast or something was in there. He couldnt see much in his eye, but its cleared now. So hes fighting again but hes just fighting bums!
-
Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
I'm just happy to see that the poor guy's career wasn't ended by that eye situation. Good for him. Does need to step it up a bit though.

Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
In the US Mundine is not known hardly at all. He seems to only want to fight other decent Australian fighters. He will never be a superstar in the sport like he says imo. Defending against a guy who is 2-3 in his last 5 fights is not what I consider going after the best.

Right you are Boom.
Mundine was on the back page of todays paper quoted as saying Hamden is his 'muslim brother'. They have been mates since they were 15. Sounds like he's throwing him a crumb if you ask me.
I just can't believe people still pay to watch Mundine fight these guys.
And what is with the WBA? I just heard Green has to fight some unknown Argentinian by April in his WBA mandatory. I mean, I think it's great that Danny has the satisfaction of being able to sleep at night calling himself the light heavyweight champion of the world but the reality is thus: he beat a bum to win the title, now he has to beat another bum to keep it. The sooner the boxing public at large disregard sanctioning bodies the better off the sport will be.

Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
Maybe Mundine wants a tune-up to make sure his eye is really ok.
I was under the same impression as Danny_G that it was a career
ending injury.
I gotta give Mundine credit, he beat Soliman like noone has before
he absolutely dominated and destroyed him. I think he should go after
Sakio Bika or Mikkel Kessler after a tune-up. He's a douche-bag, but
he's also a pretty decent boxer. Still top 5 SMW to me.

Bika was talking up a fight with Mundine on Aussie tv show SPORTS TONIGHT last night. Claims he is the real 'MAN' not Mundine. This fight would make sense for Mundine. Bika has a name in the US after his contender victory and i think Anthony would beat him relatively easy. Giving him some exposure. The annoying thing is that after the Green and Soliman fights Mundine was on a high, now he is wasting his time fighting bums.

Yeah the WBA is getting pretty weak imo. They have the weakest champions and their champions make the easiest defences of all the major belts. I mean Gavin f#ckin Reese is WBA champion. And Valero is defending against guys who dont stand a chance.

Same thing I was thinking. This is his first fight back since that injury. Cut him some slack guys.

That would work if this was an exception. With Mundine its not an exception, this is the type of guy he fights more often than not whether he has some bizarre contact injury or not. This guy is actually a step up over some of the guys he's fought lately so I guess progress is being made.
Funny, I sound like I dislike the guy, actually I kind of like watching him fight strangely enough but even his biggest fan has to admit that the majority of guys he fights are journeymen. I knew he's taken some easy fights but I didn't realize how many till I actually looked him up on boxrec today, its shocking for a guy of his skill level.

Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
Someone said he had a yeast infection in his eye? Oooooooooh, gross. Where has he been sticking that face? Sounds like he was muffing some stinky kooch :-X

Unfortunately its his second fight back from his eye problem. The return fight was worse.

Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
I am not sure about Mundine i have not seen his fights all i know is he lost to Kess like him to Face Bika because right know Bika is on a high he avenge a loss won the contender and got a huge payday and i think he is ready for Mundine i hope the fight will happen soon though.
-
Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
Mundine fighting Hamden is a complete waste of time and i am now convinced that Mundine is a complete waste of space!! If he thinks for one second that fighting these kind of fights will gain him any recognition in the boxing world at all then he is more delusional than i first thought.

Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
Hmm bit disappointing, but what ya gonna do. I can see what mundine is doing, kessler didnt throw him a bone so why should he throw him one. Mundine was meant to of gotten a rematch by now but kessler wouldnt do it, beating green was meant to be a kessler rematch. Now that kessler doesnt have a title hes giving him a dose of his own medicine.

He gave Kessler a very hard fight that was great fight, plus Mundine has improved shame he is wasting his talent on fighting nobodies, because he has good skills and he could beat most at Super Middleweight.

Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
What I'd like to know is what title Mundine has now? I mean he was given his world title status only because the WBA promoted their actual world champ Kessler to 'Super champ' status.
Now Kessler has lost his super title does he have no title at all?
Was Mundine's regular title given back to Kessler and Mundine made number 1 contender or did Mundine get promoted to 'super champ' and Kessler to number 1 contender?
Do the WBA no longer have a 'super champ' and if not do they still have a regular champ?
And what about Calzaghe, he beat Kessler so is he the 'super champ'?
If so then surely Kessler should be the regular champ and Mundine contender as Mundine was made regular champ for being runner up to Kessler.
Man I'm confused ???

His contact lens fell out and when he picked it up, instead of using a cleaner to clean it, he stuck it in his mouth, then right back into his eye... Smart man

I'm sitting somewhere in between i definatly agree he needs to take it easy after the whole eye thing for right now but his track record isn't gonna make it easy for people to accept

Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
Well hope i just see him fight some good people soon and not just jouryman because that is getting old.

Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
Good on you Snakey - you are passionate about your faves and that is fine by me mate.

Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
Mundine is a very skilled fighter who,for whatever reason, has faced soft opposition for a long time and needs to step it up. ESPECIALLY as 168 is such a hot division right now!

Yeah see if it was debate about them or writing an article then thats when im unbiased. But if someone is baggin them it would be wrong for me to join in lol . I do agree mundine needs to step up his competition, his personality before fights is a bit annoying but i love how he fights and he got the skill to go all the way. Its quite frustrating watching a man who can make an impact on the division keep fighting nobodies.

Re: Anthony Mundine is a d!#khead
Maybe he's fighting bums to get that eyesight right and knock off some ring rust maybe??
Geez after you come off of something like that you want him to jump back in there with the best? geez

Calzaghe is Super Champion, Mundine is regular champ, and Kessler holds no title at all (he is now ranked 4 by the WBA - after Danilo Haussler!).
Which also means that if/when Calzaghe abandons his 168 titles, then Mundine will be the only/real WBA champ. So, as I've written on here before, it makes a lot sense 'business-wise' for Mundine to fight bums for a while, and then wait to really step it up until he is granted the real title. Hamdan is still a bit of a let-down though.

If he was some crap fighter this would be fine, considering he's a top five guy at his weight, eh not so much.

Which two injuries would this be?
