If you had to only keep one PBF fight, which would it be and why?
Let's say you were only allowed to keep one of PBF's fights. Which would it be and why?

Diego Coralles.
He took on an undefeated top rated p4p fighter with a fearsome reputation and a huge height and reach advantage and he absolutely destroyed him.
It was the most complete and one sided beat down of a top rated fighter I ever saw, better even than Joe Calzaghe's scintillating one sided beating of Jeff Lacy.

Probably his fight with Ndou. It showed all of Mayweather's skills in one fight,his defensive and offensive. The way he was rolling with Ndous' punches on the ropes was amazing,some of his punches were so dam fast and the finish,like 4 rapid fire right hands-WOW!
A close second would be the JLC fight.I thoroughly enjoyed that fight,and have seen it about 10 times.It was Castillo at his peak and man he was awkward.Still Mayweather's toughest fight by far imo. Far tougher than Hatton or Oscar.
The Corrales fight is up there too.

I personally like coming out party's.
I'd choose his fight over 'Chicanito' Hernandez. PBF displayed it all hand speed, footwork, accuracy, power punching all the things that would later become signature PBF skills. PBF destroys the reigning WBC Super Featherweight champ and former WBA Super Featherweight champ. 'Chicanito' had wins over 'Jibaro' Perez, Paez and Azumah coming into the fight. None of that mattered to PBF as he came in and owned 'Chicanito' from the start.
Great coming out party for PBF where he showed it all.
That would be the fight for me.

I am not trying to make any excuses for Chico but do you think that the fact that he was going to prison after this fight weighed heavly on his mind? Was Chico really that good or was he too chinny? Or over rated.
I don't like one sided fights but Chico showed heart.
Who was made to look more silly? Clinton Woods in RJJ? Or Corrales in PBF's?

I would give you a CC but you can't repeat a Karma in 24 hours. I predicted Chico to knock him out inside of 8, I lost 300 dollors on that fight and it was totally one sided, Floyd was not such a prick back then (maybe we just did not know), but I remember all the pre-fight hype. Chico said he would KO Mayweather because of the disloyalty he had for kicking his father out of the house, Floyd said he would invite all 9 domestic violence victims to the fight too watch the beating, it was a landslide

Damn this is tough Danny. Corley, Ndou, Gatti, Chavez, G.Hernandez, Corrales. Im really finding it hard to split em but if i had to pick one. It would N'dou fight. Corrales fight comes in close 2nd for the reason's Bilbo has stated. Corrales was dangerous P4P fighter at the time and many people see it as 50/50 match up. Yet Mayweather gave Corrales a boxing lesson he was simply like poetry in motion that night, Corrales never even had a chance.
I haven't seen Jesus Chavez fight mentioned yet thats my 3rd favorite, because that was awesome toe to toe battle, and Chavez was like a machine throwing 100+ punches a round and Mayweather had to really dig deep. Especially in the 9th round when he was rocking Chavez's head back with uppercuts that was brutal.

The Chavez fight was a great fight. Chavez basically fought the way Ricky Hatton was supposed to and threw everything he had at Floyd. I actually had it closer on the scorecards than HBO and the official judges. But Chavez was literally exhausted once the fight was past the half way point and quit on his stool.

The problem is that when you bring up all those excuses for Chico, you show even more your dislike or even lack of objectiveness when it comes to Floyd. That being said, in retrospect it is no surprise that he defeated Chico so easily. Floyd is a master at fighting guys who simply come at him and who lack any other skill to fall back on when the coming forward does not work. Only a "boxer" with some power will have a chance at defeating Floyd. Judah had the right plan, but his head is you know where. Right now, the only two who have a legit chance of defeating Floyd are Williams and Cotto. These guys can box and punch and have a "plan b" when necessary. I give Margarito a better shot at Floyd than any of his other come forward opponents such as Castillo and Chico because of his power, sheer relentlessness, and ability to take a punch.

I also would say the Augustus fight. I was a big Augustus fan and actually thought he would beat Floyd ::** But he did make Floyd fight and I believe Floyd to this day says that was his toughest fight. That says something about Augustus and the real talent he somewhat wasted in alot of his fights IMO.
Also like the Gatti fight; it was just funny :laugh: Though I think Gatti was way past his best; I think no matter what time in his career he would have fought Floyd he would have gotten the same beating he did the night they met.
I'll go with the Augustus fight if I could have only one :-\

If i had to choose 1 i would have to go with the Chico fight. He fought pretty much in reverse and still whooped him. 5 knockdowns whilst your going backwards! Was absolutely punch perfect.
Gatti comes a very close 2nd. The skill level Floyd showed in that fight was way beyond anything i've ever seen. I know Gatti was knocking on but stil.....that was awesome.
N'dou would be 3rd......mainly for that 5th round and also the time when Floyd lay on the ropes and avoiding about 20 punches simply by twisting his body the whole time.....he was even smiling throughout the barrage.

The Corrales fight was the most brutal and was itself a real pick 'em.
Mayweather showed that at that weight he was nigh on untouchable really.

When I saw him fight Genaro Hernandez, I knew that he would eventually be considered an all time great.
Unbelieveable performance against a top fighter (at the time) while still considered a "prospect." That would be the one for me.

For me it would have to be the Hatton fight. I say this not only for the performance he gave but also all the pre fight comments and shenanigans. More money than sense was bet on Hatton and a lot of people in the UK genuinely thought he had a really good chance. I for one was almost sucked in by it and whilst I still thought PBF would win I honestly thought it would be much closer than it was.
2nd would then be the Corrales fight. Talk about the art of hit and not get hit. I think in at least the first 6 and a couple of the later rounds Corrales landed less than 10 punches. Also PBF got 5 knockdowns which I did not think he would do.
3rd would be the Ndou fight and although Ndou had not really fought many top class opponents you can never tell how hard a guy really hits with a near 100% KO record. PBF was prepared to go toe to toe with this guy and I even think Ndou threw over 100 punches in one of the rounds he was badly hurt in. I think it was the 5th.

For me it would be the Corrales fight. Diego was ranked #5 P4P & #1 at Jr. L by the Ring coming into that fight & Floyd completely destroyed him.
The Ndou fight would be a close second!

Personally I like the Chico fight, and if I remember correctly Mayweather fought a lot of that fight in the proverbial "pocket".....
If I may digress, this is what confuses me about people that criticize Mayweather as a fighter...he has actually fought all styles, in various weight classes, and has indeed went toe to toe, and has taken as well as he has given...

The Corrales fight sprang to mind immediatly.
However, just to be different I'll say the Baldomir fight. A boring fight yes, but a fight one can learn a lot from.
