Casamayor may of looked bad in his last fight, but i still don't think Katsidis is that great except for he is exciting. If Casamayor is up for the fight he should out box Katsidis comfortably.
That's cool; I was hoping Kats or Diaz would get put in there with him. I'll take Kats to win, but I'm betting Casa will get up for this fight and not be real easy on Michael. Hope Kats puts him to sleep though. Thanks for the heads up Mick.
I think Joels been in a slump and hasn't looked the part in his last 2 outings. I'm hoping this continues and Kats capitalizes on it.
I think Casa missed the better part of his career trying to make fights happen instead of at least keeping busy. Margarito did the same and paid the price. Casa was lucky to get the win vs. Santa would he have lost I think Kats would possibly be fighting Nate himself instead of Diaz.
Not just in his last fight but even in the fight before the Santa fight he looked off beat and he was not the same 'Cepillo' we had seen before.Quote:

Im going to go against what most people think, and im going to say Casamayor will be well up for this fight and hand out a boxing lesson against Katsidis.Quote:

Casamayor is there to get got.He was tired, slow and punchy against santa cruz.Santa Claus came early for Him via gift descision.Katsidis will be all pressure and cannot allow Joel to Breath.......He can not outbox Casa Imo and must keep him on heels and off balance and hope his ( Katsidis's) face holds up.
Santa -cruz should get winner..........but it wont happen!
Good to see Casamayor fighting so soon again. That once a year fighting was killing him. Katsidis is an exciting fighter. But he's not in Casamayor's class. Even at this stage in Casamayor's career he beats Katsidis
I see Katsidis kickin his ass. Less Casamayor shows up in at least the shape he did against Chico in their third fight. I'd love to see Katsidis stop him, but I doubt that would happen. At worst Casamayor goes into survival mode like he did against JLC.
That was fast, seemed like Diaz-Katsidis was on like last week,Golden Boy isnt messing around. Looks like Juan Diaz is gonna wait out his contract with King. GBP has both of these guys right? I know he signed Casamayor, but does he have Katsidis signed too?
& the new undisputed Ring lightweight world champion... Michael Katsidis!!!
Juan will now take on Nate Campbell about 2 weeks before this match up in early March I think...Quote:

I though Casamayor was supposed to rematch Santa Cruz?? Didnt the WBC say it was mandatory after they reviewed the fight, WTF? Either way Casa will be better against Katsidis win a decision.
So much lays on which casa comes to the fight
i have to agree with VD ,KAT is not in the same class as Joel , even at this advanced stage of his career.
I didn't even think Casa looked good at all in that fight. Just Chico was so weight drained, but that fight was what made me think Casa was really past it.Quote:

As good as Casamayor used to be I'm starting to think he's there for the taking, I may change my mind, I don't think that highly of Katsidis but I don't think Casa can keep up.
CC, I agree completely with that one. Katsidis has his flaws but Casamayor has looked far from quality for a long while now. Katsidis takes him viciously.Quote:

it is what it is.
can't forget that ass dance Casamayor put on last time out. winning maybe 2 rounds , that being generous. them judges were shit , robbed a good man out of a deserved win , this is whats killing the sport.
For sure. It was the bullshit of all bullshit decisions.Quote:

I thought this was the case too! Strange. Anyhow,I think Joel has looked poor in hislast 2 fights v the average Santa Cruz and a very very weight drained Corrales. The inactivity, age etc has all caught up to him imo and even though I don't think much of Kats(although he is dam exciting) I'll take Kats on points. I don't think it'll be an exciting fight though.Quote:

Campbell is a bad ass boxer-puncher with good power. And he's FINALLY gettin his shot at a world title. Its gonna be a GREAT fight.
:coolclick: Well stated. Totally agree with ya....but, as much as I like Katsidis/much as I hate Casamayor, I don't think that Katsidis will win this one.Quote:

No one ever said Casamayor was the best in the division... just the champion. Being champ doesn't mean you have to be the best in the division! If the best fighter was champ the title would never change hands! Just look at James J. Braddock before you answer & tell me if you though he was the best? But he was still the champion!Quote:

I do agree Campbell's a better opponent, I'd pick Nate to beat Kats.
I dunno. I like Campbell a lot, and he's a better boxer than Katsidis. But his track record against pressure fighters and Aussies is not too good.Quote:

Maybe Katsidis is better than Kid Diamond, but I'm not sure he's leagues apart from the guy. Everybody likes Katsidis' style, but has he really done that much to get to the position he's in? Earl, Amonsot, to put it very very extraordinarily lightly some guys have had to work a whole lot harder to get a title shot than Katsidis has.Quote:

I don't know if Hlatshwayo, or whatever the fuck his name is, is a true pressure fighter but he does throw a lot of punches. Nate was actually doing well when he was standing in there, going to the body.Quote:

Plus Holt is naturally a good deal bigger than Issac too. And has been known to do the "Ass Dance" from time to time. Remember that one? When the fans were booin and stuff after one of his fights and he bends over and shakes his ass back and forth like an idiot. Lou Duva was embarassed big time, I'm surprised he didn't stop training him right there on the spot. ;DQuote:

The above link is Casamayor's record on boxrec. It schedules a unification fight ahead vs. Michael Katsidis.
After Casamyors poor showing in his last fight, (in which I felt he looked old and weary,) does anyone else see the energetic and fresh (if technically defficient) Katsidis, being the completely wrong choice.
I know Joel is a bit long in the tooth , but Katsidis ???? i really dont see it , hes so easy to hit , and wouldnt be WORLD CHAMP if it wasnt for the WBO JOKE .
I think Jeol has enough to stop him late. TKO9
