Barrera V Prince Naseem
Got hold of the Barrera career set and watched this fight last night,I watched it live on the telly when it happened but from watching it last night Barrera win this fight easyier than I first thought I scored it 117 111 Barrera...
Also not a bad fight the last 2 rounds were fought at a fast pace....

Re: Barrera V Prince Naseem
I thought it was pretty classless when he threw his head against the ring buckle, I know Naz had a history of doing dirty thing's to fighters but Barrera should have not stooped down to that level
-
Re: Barrera V Prince Naseem
Have to disagree there mate sorry, I thought that was hilarious ;D

It wasn't more of something he did out of showing little class it was more of putting Naz in his place and letting him know "You are not going to use me as your showcase and play me like a fool"....With Naz you have to set things straight...Barrera was not going to be another Naz prop to play up to the crowd...I did not agree with the tactic but when you look at who it was against and the history of how Naz treated many of his opponents before hand you can not really fault him for it....
Kind of a heat of the moment type situation :-\

LOL well your opponent has his back to you and you have his head in your hands AND your heading towards the turn buckle. Seems like the only thing that would pop into your mind would be to smash his head into it.

Oh come on Rains Barrera smashing Naz's head into the turnbuckle was one of the greatest moments in boxing history. When i was watching it live on TV, i couldn't stop laughing for about 5 minutes i had to re watch the 12th round because i was laughing so much i missed it.

I did totally that was hilarious and Naz got what he deserved the cocky little S***. And i seem to remember Naz getting Barrera into some sort of headlock while he was on the canvas and choking him or something ?? so he got a taste of his own medicine.

Yeah he got Barrera in a head lock but Barrera gave him a knee to the ribs I think while they were down ;) That and the head bashing into the ringpost made up for the way he humiliated Steve Robinson etc.....what goes around comes around

Re: Barrera V Prince Naseem
If Barrera did something like that to a nice guy then yeah, how bad. But let's remember it was Naz who has treated other boxers like S*** and humiliated them pretty bad. Well, he got a taste of his own medicine. Also, I forgot what round, the ref was separating them and Naz punched Barrera but Barrera quickly answered and a bit harder too! Like telling Naz "I ain't taking your shit!"

Yeah thats right too....be basically showed him who was boss but in a really exellent way. He certainly gave his fans what they wanted :D

Re: Barrera V Prince Naseem
I was watching an interview on Mexican TV and he mentioned that when he took Naz to the corner he whispered to his ear "Who's your daddy?" HAHAHAHAHAHA! ;D Like adding salt/lemon to the wound hahahaha! ;D When I saw Barrera saying that in the interview I quickly watched the fight again and it was hilarious! Go check it out. You can clearly see Barrera whispering to Naz over his shoulder "Who's your daddy? 8)"

Re: Barrera V Prince Naseem
honestly this is one of my favourite fights EVER. Actually disliked naseem with a passion he was a idiot....and nothing more enjoyable then seing Barrera put him in his place just as a prime Morales, Marquez and Manny would all day long!
-
Re: Barrera V Prince Naseem
I wanted someone to pretty much spank Naz in the ring and oooooh maaaaaan, was I satisfied after those 12 rounds.
Now, I wish someone did the same with Floyd Mayweather Jr. ::**

Agree with you, we were there ;D i only went to see my hero beat up on Naz we were interviewed by Darke on who we wanted to win and we said Marco i think they were expecting us to say Naz so we were quickley ushered away. The way Naz treated his oponants was like something nasty he had stood in what goes around comes around. Best night ever my hero forever ;D MAB :allhail:

Re: Barrera V Prince Naseem
The fight itself was not a classic but was still a very enjoyable fight to watch cos it just showed how good a boxer Barrera was and for that reason alone it rates in my top 10 fights ever.
From watching the fight again Barrera had him well figured out by round 9 and he was going for the knockout,I would say if it was a 15 round fight he would of stopped Naseem.

That is the under statement of the century ;D
Check out the youtube vid " barrera down with the sickness " Its a comilation of some of the fouls he commited in and out the ring . Its class and reminds you why Barrera was such a fan favourite . ;D

Re: Barrera V Prince Naseem
Really IceCold?
I have seen him in some fights how he treats the other guy like crap, how he trash talks, how he proclaims to have all this money (when Oscar obviously has way more), and so on. I wish I could see someone spanking him someday and see how he takes the loss and maybe become more humble. Still, I see an all-around good boxer with great defensive tactics, speed, not so much punch power but can still pack a punch, and so on. Talented guy I must say.

Sounds class ! Those were the days eh . Though secretly I think Darke wanted Barrera to win too cuz of all the years Nas called him curly . Plus Glen Mcrory had always beena Barrera fan calling him the perfect fighter . He also picked a Barrera points win so he must have been wanting that to happen . Britain has always loved Marco . Did you hear the roar they gave him at the Hatton - Floyd weigh in ? Brits know class when they see it .
