Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
Just saw this one is signed for March 8 in Cancun, MX. I honestly think this is abetter fight than the katsidis fight would have been. Nate brings counter-punching and experience as well as polish to his game that Kats doesnt have. I like Diaz but he may be in trouble here. He has proved me wrong before, so I wouldnt be surprised. I dont have a pick yet for this fight, how do you see it going?

Nice fight.I like Cambell as a fighter and glad his crazy legal crap worked itself out.Hes a scary fighter,Alll the ability to get in put hurt on guys.Equally though he spaces out sometimes....."the galaxy Warrior"..Hes a solid guy and deserves a shot.
Diaz is another guyIve Turned the corner on as far as seeing the true talent. At first he was this soft baby dough kid ,almost one deminsional forward and spotty.Against Freitas and J.Diaz he was like a Machine.solid and tenacious. Not a big puncher but his output is in the top tier of today and his body work is Awesome. This is one where I want CAmbell to win and be able to punch in between Diazs hands and follow up with power shots consistently but Right now I just dont see it,dont think he has a chance of countering Diaz.Hope Im wrong but Diaz is a beast. Thanks for the heads up No Contest, nice fight Indeed !!

Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
Awesome! Gonna be a damn good fight. Dunno who to pick yet, leanin towards Diaz right now.
-
Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
Diaz for me here, Campbell has to many umimpressive performances for me to pick him over Diaz. I like Campbell but he has a tendancy to switch off in his fights and will not be able to do that against Diaz.

Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
Oops I may have jumped the gun a bit, Campbell hasnt signed yet, but I see no reason he wouldnt. He is a Don King fighter.

Yep...that was stupid. ::**

Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
Diaz has a great work rate and ethic so he should get past Campbell. However, he will encounter adversity here. In winning he would grab himself some great expierience.

Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
Is there anyway we can sad click campbell for that. What the hell was he doing?
I take it that was the first Robbie Pedan fight?

That punch sounded wicked it was like his collarbone was cracking or something.

Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
I like cambell but he won't make it to see a decision. This will be another diaz stoppage although i don't see cambell quitting.

Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
I've went against Diaz in his last fight & he proved me wrong but like a fool I'm gonna do it again. I just feel if Nate can come in at his best he can win this. Plus with the power he holds in both hands anything is possible!

Nate will be the biggest and sharpest puncher Diaz has ever faced. Gonna be hard to counter Diaz though since the kid NEVER stops throwin.

Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
Diaz by a country mile. I like Nate, but his best days are gone IMO and the way Diaz is fighting right now, even a prime Campbell would have been hard pressed to beat him. He better not try and get cutsie-cutsie with Diaz either like he did with Pedan, or he'll get an 8 punch combo up top on his cranium. Daiz by UD, maybe late stoppage. Nate won't quit but he might be in for some punishment in the late rounds.
Maybe I am too big a fanboy of my homestate boy, but I don't see anyone beating him right now, and Hatton better hope Diaz doesn't move up.
-
Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
Diaz may stop him late or UD. I think Campbell is a good fighter when he is on but hes too inconsistant and against a guy like Juan you have to be sure of yourself as a fighter or he will break you down, which is what wil probably happen to Campbell.
-
Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
I believe after this fight Diaz is released from the contract Don King had over him. This opens the door for unification with Katsidis and perhaps another marquee fight at Light weight aginst the winner of David Diaz vs. Manny Pacquaio.
I truely believe at that stage Juan will move up, which could potentially make an attractive fight for Hatton/Witter or Malignaggi (whoever jockeys themself into the No.1 spot at that time.)

Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
Diaz. He just seems like such a consistent guy, seems like you see about the same thing from him every time out. Nate's inconsistent but that's not really the point as I think Diaz most likely beats Nate even if he's on. Not a real knock on Nate, he's a good fighter and I like him even though he's an idiot. At least he finally gets a shot and doesn't have to fight his 19th title eliminator.

He was only an idiot ONCE. Give him a break. He destroyed Kid Diamond and I will always love him for that.

Traditionally I watch boxing for the fights only and reserve judgement on the fighters outside of the ring as much as I can. But what did Campbell do?

Well, about 3 years ago, he was beatin up this Aussie fighter, Robbie Peden, you may have heard of him, Peden fought JMM a long time ago and more recently Barrera and to my knowledge hasn't fought since his UD loss to Barrera. Anyway, so Nate looked to have Peden out on his feet, then Nate put his hands down at his side in a clinch, leaned into Peden's face acted all hard tryin to punk him, and Peden was playin Possum I guess and let loose with a big right hand, and BOOM! Knocked Nate Campbell out. Campbell woke up a minute or two later and was in shock, he was literally crying that he was that stupid as to lose the fight tryin to bully Robbie Peden.

Yeah that was a real idiot move.. I checked boxrec to remember when that fight was, and I saw that Campbell actually lost a rematch to Peden by TKO in the 8th... Did you happen to see that one??? What the hell went wrong there, you'd think with how badly he was playing with Peden aside for his mental lapse in the first fight he'd want to be sharp in the rematch..

He was stopped on Cuts in Peden's native Australia. Thats what I heard, make of that what you will. Snakey, bein Australian would know more about it than me, and be more biased as well, I'm sure. ;)

Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
I've been follwing Cambell's career for some time now (including that very entertaining clip posted earlier) and I really like the guy and he deserves every pay day coming to him.
But I got two words for the Nate we're going to see that night: Joel Cassamayor.
(where'd he go?)
-
Re: Juan Diaz Vs. Nate campbell is signed
Cassamayor struggled desperately in a "tune up defence" against Jose Armando Santa Cruz. Joel was awarded the decision in a SD which many (if not the majority) felt was a complete robbery.
The decision was so controversial that Diaz is now seen to be the No.1 Lightweight in the world.
