Yeah Mick, I just read that Choi had died.
I never saw him fight, but he was a light flyweight world champion.
The irony is, he actually won the fight that killed him. He got the decision but had already suffered a massive subdural hematoma and collapsed later.
Always sad when a warrior pays the ultimate price competing in the sport he loves. RIP
I don't know him or have I ever seen him fight.
However, my heart goes out to him and his family at a time like this. May God bless him and take care of his family.
Very scrappy fighter for those who never saw him, fought like a little pit bull.
A shame
Very sad to hear hope he rests in peace :'(
What a shame even though i compete in boxing and i love the sport, sadly this is common in boxing R.I.P Choi.
Seems relatively common in Korean fighters for some reason,it seems every time a guy dies in the ring its either a Korean or a guy who really should have had their liscence pulled 4 years ago.I have absolutely no idea why this is thoughQuote:

R.I.P. warrior Choi :'( Another tragic ending for a guy who fought for love of sport and family.
RIP Very sad news. Thoughts and prayers still with him and his family.
the title sent me chills I knew what i was about to read and very sad indeed.
R.I.P they say life ain't fair, but I guess death isn't either. You won the fight but the ripper still took you.
Rest well brotha, Peace.
Geeeezusss what horrible news
Also, condolences to Heri Amol. Nobody deserves to have a death like this on their hands.
RIP Yo-Sam Choi.My prayers are with your loved ones and family.God speed.
People I am guilty of this as well,But next time we rag a fighter, call him or her a coward or of not having any heart.Remember the ones that have fallen for the final count of 10. They ALL put everything on the line for self, family, freinds and us fans.
R.I.P Choi. Absoloute warrior. Trainer Monkey got it spot on, like a little pit bull.
My thoughts go out to him as well.Quote:

May he rest in peace. This is why I'm always glad when a ref steps in to stop a fight, even though we may think its premature we never really know how much a guy has left in the tank as shown in this case where the winner actually is the one who died saddly. I always hate to hear about this stuff in boxing, perhaps why I prefer matches like calzaghe kessler where there is not a lot of bloodshed as compared to pure out slugfests.
me too armin, the older the more I agree when fights are stopped. Sometimes I hear myself talking as I am watching the fights....stop it ref...stop it....
God Bless Yo-Sam Choi..
