Who's gonna be President?
As long as its a Democrat, I'm fine.
Obama won the Iowa caucus for the Democrats, Huckabee was sufficiently Christian enough to win for the Republicans.
Seems like its a two person race for the Democrats with Obama and Hillary. With the Republicans I'm not sure, you hear people say Huckabee's a bit too out there to win but come on, we elected Bush twice. Then there's Romney, McCain, Rudy.
Who do you think will win? Who are you supporting? Do you care?

Re: Who's gonna be President?

Re: Who's gonna be President?
I don't mind Obama....he's not my first choice out of everyone but out of the Democrats I'll take him over Clinton and Edwards.
I like Mike Huckabee and John McCain on the Republican side, they aren't "establishment" Republicans they would provide sufficient changes but George W. Bush has made it a HUGE uphill battle for these guys.

Yes. Is it really that big of a shock? ;D

Re: Who's gonna be President?
....I think people need to realize Huckabee didn't win ONLY because he's a Christian.
FAIR TAX, he connects with voters, he's personable, he's not super far right wing either....he'll do better in NH than people think
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
Sorry, but I couldn't care less.
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
He is somewhat charismatic and some of the things he's said about certain things-to some extent immigration-are less wacko and extreme than Romney, but the evangelical Christian vote was a big big deal.
I live in Arkansas now-not when he was governor-and we see more of the ads and there all about how Christian he is. That's pretty much it. I don't care personally, I'm not religious but I don't have anything against religious people, my mom is religious, but I just think there are more and better things to talk about than religion and religion-influenced social issues.

Re: Who's gonna be President?
Oumafan I bet you the ads change in NH as the state isn't made up of many evangelicals.....I'm no Bible beater but I like the guy he's got a good head on his shoulders and he doesn't go negative.
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
Did you see Chuck Norris standing behind Huckabee with his massive fake white toothy grin - genius ;D

My republican cousin said that Paul is currently the front runner for the republicans, so I guess that Paul isn't too far out of the question.
As for me, I'm leaning towards Obama but Clinton would be okay too.
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
....well Ron Paul came in 5th in Iowa and his supporters are ape shit crazy....he does have some good ideas but he has some CRAZIES supporting him.
Clinton would never be ok.....I think laws ought to be passed banning all Clintons and Bush's from running for President ever again. Bill Clinton (while personable) was a jackass and a rapist (not talking about the bj he got in the oval office either) ....and Hillary is just the QUEEN B.
I would rather have Obama in office....but the reason he hasn't made big mistakes politically is because he hasn't been given the chance to. W hadn't made huge mistakes before he became President either.
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
hah yea I just said ron paul cuz I go to yahoo forums and they post biographies on him on a computer topic not too mention his name is on the overpass of the 60 fwy here in california.... huckabee is gonna be my choice.... anyone but hillary I want all the power clinton

Re: Who's gonna be President?
I'm no fan but John Edward's speech was really good after the caucus...he could have been a viable candidate but Iowa (in my opinion) was the last place he was running strictly for President, I think he's running for VP now unless he plans on gaining support and running 3rd party.
I listen to talk radio and Huckabee is a guy none of the "Republican" radio show hosts like....Rush hates him, Hannity doesn't really like him.....and it's funny Rush likes Romney and Thompson.....basically John Kerry with slick hair and Andy Griffith.....and Hannity is a Guliani man....
There is NO ONE more pathetic than Rudy Guliani I don't think he has done an interview yet where he hasn't said "We need to stay on offense" (one of the soundbites from the W election in 2004). If you look at his record New York was attacked MORE under his reign as mayor than ever before or since.....I'm sorry if anyone likes the guy but he's a fucking moron.
I would like less homeless people and pan handlers in America though and if he promised that I might rethink things ;D

It's crazy but I thought that Guliani would win this by a landslide a couple years ago. He was great for NYC, but he is a republican by title only.
Being Pro-Choice and being the most lax on immigration policies isn't gonna land you the conservative vote, imo.
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
Well the Republican Party would like to have Romney and Guliani......while I myself would like to have Huckabee and McCain.
The party has been sucked into this Neo-Con bullcrap...the Party wants someone they can control....both parties want that which is why Hillary was THE heir apparent until last night

Re: Who's gonna be President?
I'm with X, I don't give a fuck. I got no say in the matter anyway. Convicted felons can't vote
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
Giuliani got so much credit for walking around on 9/11.
Shouldn't we have higher standards than that.
I mean he walked around
People may say he was a good mayor or whatever besides that but that's not why he's a big name.
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
"I'm the candidate for change"
STFU
Everybody's the candidate for change, they all just mindlessly repeat that same shit.
Next person that says I'm not the candidate for change gets my vote, even if its a Republican.

Re: Who's gonna be President?
New Hampshire ads run all the time on my cable (I live one state south) and I've only seen Johnny Mac ad from the republican sides. Hillary and Obama are all over the TV. They all suck.
This is may induce a Lyle rant, but I actually like Hillary. She might be a queen b, but he's also really fucking smart and she's been a pretty good senator. Bill was the best President in a very long time, blow job or no blow job, and being around the White House for 8 years gives her more experience than anybody else. To me they are almost all total sleazy bags and I'm looking purely at results. The US has managed to completely alienate ourselves from the rest of the world in the last 8 years, and I trust Hillary to repair the damage done by W a bit more than I do from Obama.
That being said, I could live with McCain or Obama. I liked Romney as a Governor, but he scares me as president. I'm reserving judgement on Huckabee. Right now I can't get past the christian thing.
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
I actually think Hillary would be an ok president.
She's smart, does anybody deny that?
She's not a softie by any means. I don't know if she's this total ice queen they make her out to be-maybe she is-but she's definitely tough minded.
I can't say I like her though and I don't think she's the Democrat I'll vote for.
If only we could have Bill back.
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
I'm not going to rant, I just don't see Hillary as a viable candidate because so many people hate her...myself being one of them.....phoney southern accent vote pandoring bitch!
....Hillary MAY be smart but when has she taken a solid stance for or against the war??? When has she taken a solid stance on anything so far???? All she has done thus far is attack Obama in sheisty manner and ride her husband's coat tails. And how can you be "a candidate of change" when you have been in public office for so long?
You don't gain experience through a spouse no matter how closely you follow their line of work
Name me some things Hillary has done as a Senator for New York other than continue to fund the war which she and her ENTIRE PARTY don't even believe in!
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
Mitt Romney just got DESTROYED in the debate tonight....and it seems as though Hillary is having another tough night, she's pissed off and it isn't pretty.......especially in HD
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
she does come off as a bit vindictive, petty.
I like how she kind of tried to cuddle up with Edwards against Obama and he turned right around and criticized her.
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
hahaha, yeah that was great....if Edwards comes in 2nd in NH he's pretty much KO'd Hillary by himself. If it was JUST Obama making Hillary finish not first she would still be a viable candidate.
McCain stuck it to Romney he just whipped his ass......Huckabee had a good message for NH I think he did enough to earn a 2nd or 3rd finish but I don't know what those people there think about his views. McCain was the clear winner though
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
Bill Richardson has said he was the Energy Secretary 842 times tonight.
We know motherfucker.
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
Monty Burns would make a better President than the lot of them
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
I'm undecided because I've been spending all my free time trying to figure out what Clinton has done in the past 35 yrs. that qualifies her to be anything. Must've been a fun plane ride from Iowa to New Hampshire. Bet old Bill spent most of the flight in the restroom.

Re: Who's gonna be President?
The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Ha ha - quick response .... nice one ! :D

Re: Who's gonna be President?
Another Republican debate tonight on Fox....I wonder if Romney is going to be massacred again....I ALMOST felt bad for him last night
-
Re: Who's gonna be President?
This year is a cluster you know what for both parties
The guys who could unify the country McCain and Edwards are both toast allready.MCCain for selling himself out,and Edwards over a haircut
The early presumed front runners Gulliani and Clinton are looking in trouble for not actually representing their own party
Oddly a Goldwater Republican in Ron Paul, and a Kennedy Democrat in Kucinich are gaining support for not being the status quo,and scaring the hell out of both establishments
America is openly not caring about the actor for once, sorry Fred
Odd to think that, all of the canidates are going to suck so hard the impossable might happen regardless of party.
Who'd have thought it very likely might be the Mormon vs the African American?
This isnt bad, just interesting to watch mainstream canidates who are supposed to win somehow find a way to aim the gun at their own foot repeatedly, while the guys who were supposedly anthema to the American people like Huckabee,Obama, and Romney are skating to the lead
