Is it just me or does this seem like a horrible match for Banks. Can he stave Miranda off with his less than sinister punching power? I don't think so.
Why would Banks take this fight unless he plans to cash in and call it a career?

Maybe he thinks he has the style to make it tough for Pantera. Although I think Miranda is going to win,I also think Banks can make it tough for him just by using lots of lateral movement and countering. Edison tends to throws wide punches and does not have that great a jab either.
I don't think Banks is that bad of a fighter.
Maybe he could outbox Miranda. Eh, probably not even though I don't really rate Miranda, or at least not as high as a lot of people do.
Anyway Banks could come back from a loss. He's not a future champ type anyway, he could find fights.
BTW what is he doing at 168, maybe its just me but he seems small for the weight.
I am actually excited to see this fight.Just to see where both fighters stand.I don't think this is a mis-match unless Banks is just scared of this guy when he gets in ring.I believe Miranda is a very hyped fighter probably the most I've seen in recent years. He has a good punch and to me that's it.If you continue to put pressure on him he folds just like Pavlik and Abraham have done. His boxing ability is sub-par at best and not that very fast with hands and feet, very very fat punches.
Banks will give himself a chance with a huge speed advantage. He's not a hard hitter, but he has extremely fast hands and good movement. His contender fight against Paul Smith was pretty damn close and he easily handled Donny McCrary. Banks might be able to frustrate Pantera, but Pantera will probably get an opportunity to land his shot at some point, and I'm not sure how well Banks will stand up to a Miranda's shots at 168.
Miranda's punches are not slow by any means, especially when you take his build into account. If he straightened them out a bit he would be much more effective though.Quote:

Banks will have to run and throw punches like a mofo in their fight as his feather fisting alone will not keep Miranda off. Banks will get hit anyway but seems to have a good chin, so he has a slight chance of getting Miranda frustrated like Abraham did and make him foul himself to a loss. Miranda will need to stay focused and just keep doing his thing and if he does it, I see banks getting stopped at about round 6.
Come on people Banks lost to Manfredo. He's gonna get his fuckin ass kicked. Its that simple. ;D
Deanrw Abraham was busted up than Miranda.Didn't Miranda have a broken jaw at the end of that bout and almost get stopped.
Miranda couldn't box his way out of a paper bag, and I have a feeling his lack of a jab will have him eating right counters until the end. I'm picking Banks by decision, buthe could get sparked at any minute if Miranda catches him with a telegraphed bomb.
Seeing Miranda lose to Banks would not surprise meQuote:

Im actually quite looking forward to this fight, fair play to Banks for taking it.
It was Abraham that had the broken jaw. At the end if the fight his head was so swollen he could not even close his mouth.Quote:

He was hailed for his performance against King Arthur and I just didn't get that. Any decent fighter who sees their opponents jaw hanging off their face after 5 rounds and still doesn't force a stoppage clearly has limited boxing ability. He's just a slugger.
I just don't rate Miranda as anything beyond a big punch. He'll probably beat Banks, as I expect Banks will have that deer in the headlights look about him come fight night but Miranda, like Jeff Lacy is one of those fighters whose aura has been shot to pieces and they will never be a force again.
Miranda is going to be a highlight reel KO for the next batch of prospects coming through.
I'm just worried that Banks is gonna be tentative. I guess if I was betting money I'd go with Miranda but wouldn't necessarily shock me if he lost.
I'd pick Pascal to beat Miranda.
Miranda will win by KO there is no doubt
The only problem is Miranda is his own worst enemy, he gets so frustrated when his opponent doesn't stand still or fights back, God help him if he ever fought Sam Soliman

I completely disagree with almost everything you say. Miranda beat Abraham, if not for the protection from the ref he would have stopped him. In that fight Tyson would not have been able to finish the job. Allan may not have been 100%, but Edison dominated that fight and boxed Allan's ears off. At 100% there would be little difference. Edison came down from 210 to 160 in 6 weeks to make the Pavlik fight. He too was far from 100%, and even if he was I dunno if he coulda stopped Pavlik. But I think at 168lbs, a much better weight for him, he will carry his power and be more dangerous.
I respect your opinion, and we will continue to disagree until he proves one of us wrong. I am still a believer.
Really? Cus it would surprise the hell outta me! :oQuote:

But i actually think Miranda was lucky he was allowed to even carry on i wouldn't say the ref was protecting Abraham. As for the Green fight i wasn't impressed with Miranda or Green especially Green though, because Green kept running and he showed no desire to win plus he kept looking at his shoes what the hell was that all about ?? even when Green dropped Miranda he showed no fire or any desire to even try and finish off Miranda.Quote:

Miranda DQ'd? That is a joke. Abraham was fouling as much, if not more than Edison. He was just allowed to get away with it. Other than the headbutt, which many refs would have let go with a warning, he fought a very clean fight. Yea, there were 1-2 shots on the beltline. But this is boxing. Happens all the damn time and usually is never called. Did he hit him one time in the nuts? Hell no, not even close! Abraham just pussied his way into selling fouls to the ref. Anywhere else but Germany the result of this fight is win for Miranda.Quote:

So talk your dirty fight to someone who doesnt know what they are talking about. I would bet my dick that Neuman was paid off by Sauerland. It wouldnt be the first time. Been caught doing it before.
It was still a blatant deliberate headbutt from Miranda, and he still deserved to have a point deduction. Go talk my dirty fight to someone who doesn't know what there talking about ?? most boxing fans who watched the fight considered it a very dirty fight from Miranda. Your the only one who i've seen saying Miranda boxed *Mostly Clean Fight* so basically all the knowledgeable boxing fans and all the boxing experts are wrong and your right yes ??Quote:

Fuk all that nonsense! Miranda is a savage, a warrior, and has one punch knockout power and an iron will. Banks will fall, and so will a lot more before Miranda hangs them up.

I guess you dont remember the controversy that came after the fight when EVERY North American boxing 'expert' (except for Graham Houston) thought Miranda got screwed. There were countless articles, from Dan Rafael to Greg Leon, from the WBO to the IBF, from the tops of HBO boxing to the commentators on ESPN.....
Say something else to make you sound foolish...
Better yet why don't you go make a Poll right now and see how many people agree that Miranda fought a dirty fight, and see how many thought he fought clean fight that way you can understand what im saying. Me sound foolish ?? when did i ever bring up the decision ?? i was pointing out Miranda fought a dirty fight and was lucky not to get DQ. I never said anything about the decision so i don't know what your trying to get at, i remember that almost everyone on this forum agreed that Miranda fought a dirty fight. And i respect and regard most of the members opinion's here very highly, because they know a lot about boxing and most of them have been watching boxing since i wasn't even born.Quote:

When i said that comment i meant *Most* experts maybe i worded it wrong but that was my point. Im not trying to put your boy down i think he is an exciting fighter and i enjoy watching him fight. I just disagree that he fought a clean fight in the Abraham fight i will give you a CC and hopefully we can end this now.Quote:

I just see Miranda doing his best Taz the Tasmanian Devil impersonation. Banks will get swallowed up by the hurricane force winds of Miranda's flailing arms.
Fucking clueless. :oQuote:
