There is only one man.
Steve Holdsworth
He calls it like it is, doesn't suck up to any fighter or organisation. Consistantly funny.
Duke McKenzie.
Good job hogg ain't here he'd kill me. ;D
Come to think of it he isn't too bad.
Ahhhh yeah Holdsworth, cheers Missy.
Jim Neilly also?
Marv Hagler?
Roy Jones When He IS ON
I was just trying to think of his name and I saw your post.Quote:

Last night (5th March) he got pretty wound up after the ref deducted a point after the bell for the next round had rung =apparently German referees like to favour there own ?
Larry Merchant
Larry Merchant can be entertaining some times.
when he finally gets
to the end
of a sentance.
Holdsworth is good. He does reply to emails. Which is nice.
LOL Missy.
He annoys me with that whiny accent though.
There he is in the midst of some of the most scintillating and exciting moments in sports and all he can do is look unimpressed and be like, "Do yooouu thiiink.........." Oh God the man is so condescending it's not funny.
Lampley, Foreman, and Steward....Merchant can go EAT A DICK!
LOL Lyle :)
Chris Byrd.
and Roy Jones Jr.
Teddy likes his the sound of his own voice far too much. thats what lets him down as a trainer. George is ok but he'll say what ever you want to hear. I think Jim Watt and Ian Darke are the men! Once youve sat down with those guys you'll be turning the volume down on our friend Teddy
I wasnt a fan of Holdsworth but he's won me over. He does a good job on his own knows his stuff and dosent compromise his principles by kissing ass. Sky TV have the best and worst of the bunch -Jim Watt is a great analyst has done it all and will be brutally honest. Ian Darke is a genius. Very funny, honest, knowledgeable and knows what he's watching. For my money there isnt a better commentator in the whole world. He dosent always get it right but then who does. The rest of em dont even deserve a mention. I mean look at the top American commentators - Teddy "I love my own voice" Atlas, George "I'll say what you want to hear" Foreman, Scott "trying to stay awake" Ledoux, Emmanuel "lets promote me" Steward, Bobby "I got a coke problem" Czyz and as for Lampley and Merchant - dont get me started. Im not being biased or patriotic but i do beleive that in the UK we have the best commentary in the world. Mind you we do have Glenn "Repeat what Ian says" McCrory and Adam "Im a puny fake" Smith. That guy has not got a clue.
Missy is right, Deans brother is the best commentator!
The guy makes me laugh with the shit he comes out with
Ian Darke and Glen McCory are crap!
I like Lampley.
And I would love for my avatar to pick up a mic.
He knows boxing.
Now & then.
He would have interesting insights & it might help him stay out of jail.
best George Foreman
worst Max Kellerman
ATLAS
Foreman and Lamply
RJJr. He predicts things before they happen.
Like when he said that Brewster would hook off of Wlad's left and end the fight, and how Klitchko wouldn't make it
lampley shouldnt even be on the list hes such a bad commentator it makes
me sick
I like the Jim Lampley/ Larry Merchant team. Lampley is pretty knowledgeable and always smooth...never really takes sides. Larry Merchant just because he knows the game like no one else...its funny to see Larry Merchant at ringside in the background of the legendary picture of Ali telling Liston to get up in their second fight. I also enjoy Larry's little metaphors and sayings at the end of the broadcast to wrap up. They're funny as hell...cool click to Larry. He also stands up to fighters and does the best interviews
Roy Jones Jr
Foreman and Merchant (forgive me if someone already said these)
Definitely not Bob Sheridan, he has to be the most annoying commentator in the world of boxing, he talks more during the fight than any commentator ive heard.
The best: Lennon Lewis ;D
he made a classic line in the Jones vs. Ruiz fight. at the end of the round he said, "Roy is the terminator and he just told John Ruiz, 'I'll be back! ")After the round in which Jones stunned Ruiz greatly. Classic line :)
I agree with many of the writers picks except for Larry Merchant. Roy Jones a new comer hasmuch more in his tank and Merchant needs to be overhauled and get a personality transplant. Jim Lampley behaves like a professional and Manny Steward seems fit and knowledgeable but Teddy Atlas is slowly becoming a big boxing voice as he pioneers protecting the boxers from unscrupulous promoters and the Alphabet soup for lunch bunch. Honorable mention to Sean O'Grady who has an intellect that the fans identify with and Bobby Czy for his knowledge of the square arena. Whoever you like out there should help you enjoy a great night of boxing whenever it comes along.
Duke McKenzie
hilarious
