Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenu
For those who can't be bothered to read it I'll paraphrase....and yes it is fucking nuts!
Basically there was once this intergalactic ruler of the universe called Xemu. 75 million years ago he brought billions of his people to earth where he strapped them around the edges of volcano's. He then blew them all up and captured their souls in special containers.
These souls he then took to the cinema and brainwashed them Lost style with false beliefs and doctrined such as Christiantity.
Xemu was overthrown by his officers and locked away in a mountain where he still lives to this day protected by a magical force field that is charged by an eternal battery.
No all humans on earth have a dead alien soul trapped in their bodies called a thetan. When you reach the highest levels of initiation into the scientology you can pay around $360,000 to have your dead thetan spirita removed.
You will then have the power of telepathic communications.
You still think Tom is sane Mick? :-\

Re: Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
It's actually scare to read what these people believe!
In the 50's and 60's the nation of Islam were feared and ridiculed because of they're beliefs (that Allah would send down a great ring of fire and exterminate all whites)
However, I find this just as disturbing in that there are so many inconsistincies and loose ends that people who believe are quite plainly removed from their senses.
No offence to anyone, If you're a scientoligist You have the right to your belief.

Re: Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
What's all the more scary is the the weirdest people of all are the ones with the most power. I still find it amusing that people think voting makes any difference in what government we have.
All the world leaders are part of the movement towards a one world order and it's not even hidden.
We are going to soon have a one world order, with one leader, one currency and then money will be done away with altogether and we all have chips inserted into our wrist or forehead.
This was foretold in the Bible 2000 years ago, along with hundreds of other prophecies, most of which have already come true.
It's hard to deny that its becoming a reality, we are getting closer every day. :-\

Re: Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
Well Bilbo, I'd like to disagree, but in a world where people with wealth, power and infleunce choose to believe in and spread the word about an alien imprisoned in the pyrenees for more than a million years or so anything can and probably will happen.
So in such a relatively short time after world turmoil in WW1 and WW2 I'm banking on Russia, Germany, Japan, China and Cuba being as awkward as possible and refusing to conform to what the world wants to save us all!
In all seriousness, it's frustrationg to stand back and take a look at the world today. I've been told on many's the occasion "you can be whatever you want to be." Not true. Our lives are very nearly pre determined by the powers over us these days. And I for one don't like it.

Re: Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
Their is a new movie call The Profit which is like a parady of the scientology religion. Even though it made no reference to scientology, only a made up religious cult, the scientology community declared war on it and continually harrassed anyone involved in the movie's production.
They've now sought an injunction so that the movie can not be shown.
I'll have to bookmark the site and keep an eye out for a new release date. I've had a search around for any torrents that have got a hold of it but no luck.

Re: Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
I have to admit that upon first hearing the term scientology and it's ties to religion I presumed that it was based upon scientific reason, logic and historical evidence. Ther name suggests a group who believe only in the proven and validated and I am almost embarassed to say I thought they were a group who were Christian but just adopted Darwins evolution theory (etc.) into their beliefs.
Instead I was quite shocked to find this, sorry I must use the word, nonsense to describe their beliefs.

Re: Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
funny thing, I agree somewhat with his views on the news/media, just repeating what passes for news instead of actively investigating and reporting. Attending press conferences and repeating back what the government tell you is not the same as being a proper journalist.

I wonder what $360,000 was worth 75 million years ago before man even existed or invented the dollar or any form of currency for that matter. ???

Re: Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
Scientology is screwball. But then I do find all forms of organised religion and cults, in general, to be quite out there in terms of rational thinking. Scientology is just another on the pile.
I suppose I am somewhat cynical of a lot of things.

Re: Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
Ron L Hubbard is the prankster in this case full of fuckwits.
They have one thing that may be a working therory concerning post traumatic stress disorder and the like :-\.
They belive that when your going through any type of stress (including birth) your mind goes into a state of subconsiusness for your sanitys automatic protection. That is true but they go further ...
they belive that you deeply, can take on belifes that are linked to what you can hear going on in the background while in a stressful situation. Like if a nurse is blabbing on aobut her lover is untrusworthy ,you will adapt sub consiuoss feelings of untrustworthiness towards your lover etc.
They have ways of gettting all these things out of your subconsiuss and they insist on complete silence when getting any surgery or any dental work etc.
Could be some merit to that bit.
Toms a bit of a controlling tool at the best of times and not welcome in Australia anymore cause we all side with his ex Nicole, the smartest and tallest woman in his little life..

Re: Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
he probably started the whole thing as a plot to a novel and some lunatics believed it, so he kept going with it....kinda like War of the Worlds. But who the fuck could EVER believe all that garbage? That's like saying you've seen a Brit with nice teeth. ;D

Re: Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
i was recently making fun of tom cruise for being a scientologist like out loud in public then a random scientologist approached me and got all up in my face haahhaha!
he was hard core and was utterly offended.
the guy asked me how much did i study about scientology and i admitted i know about as much as the casual sh*t-talker knows of scientology and he screamed at me saying, "WELL I STUDYING IT ON A WEEKLY BASIS!"
so basically he was telling me that i was ignorant for making jokes about it without studying it weekly like he does

Re: Ok so I decided to find out what Scientologist believe.......
Apparently my grandfather was into scientology for a while.
He tried to tell my mum she shouldn't breastfeed and she told him to F Off!
I don't know much more about what happened than that though.

Nah Will Smith is a bible believing man but a good friend of Tom. What he said was that he'd never criticise Tom Cruise for his beliefs when at the end of the day he himself believed that Jesus was born of a virgin.
To be honest, as someone holds to a biblical world view myself I can see where he's coming from.
If you think of it ALL of us believe in bizarre and outlandish ideas. They are all completely absurd when you think about it but social conditioning makes whatever view we hold to seem logical to us.
I personally believe that God created the heavens and the earth and that all the miracles in the Bible are true. To a non believer I can completely see how that looks like nuts.
But then an athiestic evolutionist believes the universe exploded out of nothing, into nowhere for no reason and the once the the dust from the explosion settled, for no reason it randomly started to cluster together and form stars and planets. And then later for no reason tiny particles started to appear in a soupy sea on planet earth and for no reason turned into self replicating systems which then eventually turned into all the life on earth.
On the face of it both these ideas sound completely absurd so many 'wise' people try and combine the two which when you think about it is even more absurd! ;D
Ok we'll have little bit from absurd belief 1 and combine it with a sprinkling of absurd belief 2 and make a more sensible theory.
Logically speaking that is absurd.
But the fact that we exist at all IS A COMPLETE ABSURDITY. It should not be, it's not remotely possible, but we ARE here, so there has to be a crazy bullshit, wacko theory out there that is ACTUALLY CORRECT!!
It's a truly strange world we live in when you think about it.
