Will PBF retire undefeated?
Just wondered wheat you guys thought?
Will he carry on to long or will he pick his moment when he knows his skills are fading?
Will he try to jump up one weight division too many?
Will a young prospect defeat him in a few years time?
Or will any of the current crop of WW/LMW's defeat him?
i personally think he may well retire undeafeted as long as he doesnt go on too long..
Re: Will PBF retire undefeated?
It is a very hard thing to do. Think it has only been done twice in history. (I'm not counting Sven Otkey)
And the guys who did it only fought in one weight class. For a multidivision champion to retire undefeated would truelly be amazing. But I believe the money and the fame will keep bringing him back till he either looses or comes very close to loosing.
Don't know who will do it though.

He'll carry on too long, because that's what all fighters do. No fighter thinks he's fading until someone actually beats him into believing it.
Mayweather will lose at some point, just not yet.
Re: Will PBF retire undefeated?
If he fights Cotto or Williams there's a chance Mayweather's '0' could go.
Re: Will PBF retire undefeated?
Probably not.....someone will eventually beat him as he continues to go in and out of retirement and fights longer than he should. Not anytime soon though.
Re: Will PBF retire undefeated?
He probably will but i think it shows you didin't take enough risks rather than you were just to good.
Re: Will PBF retire undefeated?
I agree that he may have a blemish on his record before it's all said and done. Can you imagine anyone trying to tell PBF that his skills aren't what they once were? I'm willing to bet he wouldn't have it until somebody showed him in the ring.

4 have retired undefeated as champions Sven Ottke, Ji Won Kim, Ricardo Lopez, Rocky Marciano. And as for the question in this thread yes Mayweather will retire undefeated.
Re: Will PBF retire undefeated?
if the rest of his fights r against oscar-then yeah
Re: Will PBF retire undefeated?
There is a very good chance he will, if he fights DLH again he will win, he then has only two options and that's Cotto and Williams but that looks like it won't happen until 2009! A lot of water under the bridge in that time in Boxing. I agree with Sweet Pea, he will go to long and end up doing something stupid like fighting for the Middleweight title and getting himself Knocked Out! My wish is he fights Cotto and Williams and retires!
Re: Will PBF retire undefeated?
If he fights Cotto in 2009, I will say no he will not retire undefeated.
Re: Will PBF retire undefeated?
He already has "Retired" undefeated. He'll do it again. But then he'll un-retire and lose. They all do.

I agree with that..!
If in the next 3 or 4 years a very good figher emerges that has a real potential of beating him, he probably won't take the fight... I'm not saying Floyd Mayweather will duck anyone,,,,, I just think it'll be in his later years (if at all) when he starts taking 1 year plus breaks to persuit other interests and begins to slow down... He'll always be as slipery as a snake though and even with a younger, more powerful, and even faster opponent, he'll still be a force to take down..

The most recognized fighters to fight become champs and leave the sport undefeated IMO are;
'Finito' Lopez & Marciano.
You then have other fighters like;
Sven, Simon, Kim, Marsh
Who also retired undefeated and as champs but aren't recognized for such thing for various reasons either short reign/short career, opposition among other things....
