Heath Ledger found dead
The actor Heath Ledger was found dead this afternoon in an apartment building at 421 Broome Street in SoHo, according to the New York City police. Mr. Ledger was 28.
At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A in the building for an appointment with Mr. Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger unconscious. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they did not suspect foul play. Officials said pills fear found near the body.
Mr. Ledger, a native of Perth, Australia, won acclaim for his role as a co-star in “Brokeback Mountain”, a 2005 film. The film, based on a short story by Annie Proulx about two cowboys who fall in love, won critical acclaim. Reviewing the film in The New York Times, the critic Stephen Holden wrote, “Mr. Ledger magically and mysteriously disappears beneath the skin of his lean, sinewy character. It is a great screen performance, as good as the best of Marlon Brando and Sean Penn.”
Mr. Ledger met the actress Michelle Williams while filming ‘’Brokeback Mountain.” The two actors fell into a very public romance. They had a daughter, Matilda Rose, who was born on Oct. 28, 2005. They moved to Brooklyn, but then separated last year.
Calls by The New York Times to Mara Buxbaum, a publicist for Mr. Ledger, and Steve Alexander, the actor’s agent, were not immediately returned this afternoon.
Damn.. had a lot of respect for this guy.. one of my fav actors..

Wow, that's sad. I'm not familiar with too much of his work, but I'm sure I've seen some of his movies. He was only 28 too. RIP

Most notably, he was prob known for his Brokeback Mountain role opposite Gyllenhal..
He's the new Joker in the Batman movie coming out this year.. He was in the Bob Dylan movie "I'm Not There".. and a bunch of other stuff.. "10 Things I Hate About You".. Mel Gibsons son in The Patriot etc.. you'd know him if you saw a pic of him i'm sure.

Chris Penn died a while ago too....that was sad he was a good actor as well......and not nearly as annoying as his brother Sean Penn

There are plenty of celebrities I dont like. But I always liked Heath Ledger because you could tell he wasn't all up in his fame/money and took his work very seriously. Maybe at the end of the day he was too introspective and became depressed or suffered from addiction.
It is sad he was only 28 and seem to have a lot to give the world. He seemed like one of the "good guys" in Hollywood.
It goes to show how someone can have seemingly everything in the world yet they still feel like their cup is not full. May he RIP.

Fuck! Didn't know he snuffed it too. Was just watching a film - Bully - the other day and slagging-off the kids pony acting. Feel a bit guilty now.

You're quite right, it should be the new slogan for 08. Instead of plant a tree it should be bury a child.
I'd love to see the new Innocent Smoothie campaign for that. 'For every smoothie you buy we will kill and bury one child to ease the starvation problem and reduce our carbon footprint'.
They would also be adding a new industry to Africa, it's a win win all around.

Didnt he split with the misses recently and the press have been all over him too cause he either got one once ,or at least upset them all with some nasty comments.
What a waste seems like a suicide any one of those kids would swap their life with his in a blink and he goes and pisses it up the wall.
Oh well rip Mr Ledger and the 6000 plus probably eight+ by now.

Funny thing is, we the jokers are probably the ones who secretly help them all out.

Seriously though it is a shame, he was a real person with a family and emotions and everything.
It's sad to hear news of anybody's death but it is funny how if ANY fighter dies, even we have never heard of EVERYBODY pays their respects, but if it's a non boxer people (me included) come here to make a point of saying we don't give a S*** and we hope he/she rots.
