Prime Tyson VS Prime Lewis
Could a prime Iron Mike Tyson have beat a Prime Monster in Lewis it truly would have been a battle of brawler vs boxer. Who do you think would have won?

Well in his prime Tyson struggled with tall fighters like Green, Smith, and Tucker and Douglas... and about a year ago I would of said Tyson wins because I am a huge Tyson fan but after looking back over Lewis's career I can only see one winner and its Lewis. Ive learnt to admit it. LOL
People hate Lewis, so there will be more people saying Tyson would of KOED him, but if you look at the facts, Tyson in his prime never even came close to knocking down Green, smith, and Tucker, and Lewis in his prime was 10 times better than all of them and had the 1 punch KO power like Tyson.
Ive stuck up for Tyson since I was about 8 yrs old, he is what got me into boxing but I think Lewis knew he had Tyson's number all along, abit like Holyfield did !!
The size difference too is a major factor, Tyson had fought big tall men before but Lewis just wasn't tall in his prime, he was a 18 stone monster who could move round the ring just as good as any boxer I have seen, check the footwork out on the Tua, Tyson, Holyfield, and Rahman 2 fight, they don't get near him and all look frustrated at the end of the rounds with their corner man saying get inside, and Tyson and Tua I both heard say, I cant !!
Lewis too big too strong and too good !!

Tyson in 4. Lewis didnt have a chin at all. Tyson had fought big fighters in his prime be4. Tony Tucker and bonecrusher smith were both 6-5 and he walked through both of them.

Tyson against Smith was a dull fight and neither one did anything great in it !!
Tucker could of went for it abit more I think but never had the balls to back Tyson up, but Tyson never even came close to knocking him down never mind knocking him out.
Have you actually watched these fights ???

Yeah, definately I would say Tyson just needs to even touch Lennoxs chin it was THAT bad

Neither did Tua
Neither did Ruddock
Neither did Bruno
Neither did Grant
Neither did Golota
Neither did Klitschko
But heck, in fights when Lennox wasnt at his best he got fucked royally by lucky punches. A total of 2 friggin times! Can you believe that!! The guy has no chin and gets boned twice in like 15 years

Yes. Lewis is too slow. Blow-for-blow Tyson wins and all Tyson needed to beat Lewis was more speed.

Well we can say that if the likes of Buster Douglas can totally out box Tyson and KO him to fuck, Â and Holyfield can out box Tyson and KO him to fuck, Â then surely Lewis could of !!

Tyson got KOED 4 times in his career, by 4 different people  would of been 5 if he would of carried on fighting in the Holyfield fight,  so why not make out he had a weak chin ???

As for Lewis not having a good chin, you can think that, but I have seen him take punches off Tyson, Holyfield, Mercer, Tua, Ruddock, Grant, all of them considered as the heaviest hitters around at the time and they didn't knock him out !!
The MCcall stoppage I thought was awful, he was up at 7, imagine if they would of stopped Holyfield when he got knocked down against Bowe in their first fight in round 10, Holyfield was in alot worse shape than what Lewis was, Lewis complained like fuck after that stoppage !!
The Rahman fight, was Lewis being lazy and thinking he could just show up and win, and he got hit off a punch that I truthfully think would of KOED most Heavyweights and it was how he went down that did the most damage !!

Tyson was never stopped by a single punch like lewis was TWICE. Tyson was always stopped by dozens of punches in a row like douglas,lewis, holyfield, williams.

I agree. Kevin Rooney said that when Mike was younger, he would see him get hammered sometimes in sparring sessions but would walk through it. The Rahman KO of Lennox almost looked fake. Lennox was backing up, and it looked like he was grinning and smiling arrogantly; Rahman sneaks in a big overhand punch on him; Lewis falls back, hits his head on the ropes, and never gets up.

In that fight, Lewis was seeing stars when he got hit by Rahman. He layed there and got up looking dizzy. That's why they stopped it. Then, Lewis complains but you could clearly see that Lewis had went coo-coo for coco puffs! (LOL) One shot and the dumb ass quit all that grinning and smiling in the ring, didn't he?

Rahman has a nice, hard, stiff jab and doesn't move too bad for a big man. He just comes in at like 260 pounds and he is kind of lumbering sometimes, lacking agility. He might be better in football.  :)

So what's the difference when Tyson got beat by Douglas? I'm sure most people believe that he would've knocked him out in the rematch hadn't Holyfield hurried up and snuck in on the opportunity to strip the one-shot bum of his title. I knew this and picked Lewis to win the rematch. Furthermore, as I watched the fight - I knew it was only a matter of time before Lewis would KO Rahman and I give Lewis props! That "two-piece" that he put on Rahman was some of the prettiest punches that I ever saw executed like that! I was impressed and shocked because I didn't even know that Lewis had it in him like that. Rahman fell like a ton of bricks!

There is a big difference, Lewis got straight back in there with Rahman and did get revenge.
Tyson never got straight back in there with Douglas, and you say most people agree that Tyson WOULD ( another one of the woulds ) of won against Douglas in a rematch, well you all can agree as much as you want, the fact is he was lucky to win 2 rounds against Douglas and it is not fact that Tyson would of KOED douglas in a rematch, If you watched the Tyson-Dougals fight and you never knew who the fuck Tyson was and you had never heard of him and watched that fight, you wouldn't give Tyson a chance in the rematch, he got his head boxed off all night.
The difference is .........with Lewis, it was obvious to everyone that Rahman had just landed a lucky punch !!

First of all, Rahman was in good shape against Lewis. Â He was just the right person at the right time and had Lewis' number. Â He was a big guy like him and put a nice, stiff jab on Lewis that he evidently was never use to before. Â Watch the fight again. Â Rahman didn't just get "lucky." Â You may say that the "shot" was lucky, but it also wouldn't have been lucky if Lewis wasn't so busy smiling, being cocky, and had his hands down to his sides thinking he can really box like Ali but can't! Â Rahman was pushing Lewis around early.
Now as far as Tyson and Douglas are concerned, Douglas did come into that fight in the best shape of his life! Â Douglas was in excellent shape for that fight and rumors are that King was up to something and Tyson didn't even train much for that fight. Â Nevertheless, Douglas won that fight and he was sharper than Mike that night, but he was still in for a rude awakening when it was about the 8th round and remember Mike had completely negated everything that Buster had done when he popped him which resulted in the controversial 10 count. I think that it was possible that King had set Tyson up - just like he did when Ali got beat by Leon Spinks.

Wrong again. Amateurs don't count. If that's the case, then Stevie Lil But Bad Johnston beat Sugar Shane Mosley and Tyson got beat by Greg Paige.

So what's the difference when Tyson got beat by Douglas? I'm sure most people believe that he would've knocked him out in the rematch hadn't Holyfield hurried up and snuck in on the opportunity to strip the one-shot bum of his title. I knew this and picked Lewis to win the rematch. Furthermore, as I watched the fight - I knew it was only a matter of time before Lewis would KO Rahman and I give Lewis props! That "two-piece" that he put on Rahman was some of the prettiest punches that I ever saw executed like that! I was impressed and shocked because I didn't even know that Lewis had it in him like that. Rahman fell like a ton of bricks!

There is a big difference, Lewis got straight back in there with Rahman and did get revenge.
Tyson never got straight back in there with Douglas,  and you say most people agree that Tyson WOULD ( another one of the woulds ) of won against Douglas in a rematch,  well you all can agree as much as you want,  the fact is he was lucky to win 2 rounds against Douglas and it is not fact that Tyson would of KOED douglas in a rematch,  If you watched the Tyson-Dougals fight and you never knew who the f*** Tyson was and you had never heard of him and watched that fight,  you wouldn't give Tyson a chance in the rematch,  he got his head boxed off all night.Â
The difference is .........with Lewis,  it was obvious to everyone that Rahman had just landed a lucky punch !!
First of all, Rahman was in good shape against Lewis. Â He was just the right person at the right time and had Lewis' number. Â He was a big guy like him and put a nice, stiff jab on Lewis that he evidently was never use to before. Â Watch the fight again. Â Rahman didn't just get "lucky." Â You may say that the "shot" was lucky, but it also wouldn't have been lucky if Lewis wasn't so busy smiling, being cocky, and had his hands down to his sides thinking he can really box like Ali but can't! Â Rahman was pushing Lewis around early.
Now as far as Tyson and Douglas are concerned, Douglas did come into that fight in the best shape of his life!  Douglas was in excellent shape for that fight and rumors are that King was up to something and Tyson didn't even train much for that fight.  Nevertheless, Douglas won that fight and he was sharper than Mike that night, but he was still in for a rude awakening when it was about the 8th round and remember Mike had completely negated everything that Buster had done when he popped him which resulted in the controversial 10 count. I think that it was possible that King had set Tyson up - just like he did when Ali got beat by Leon Spinks.
Once again its how you say things DrUglyhead, You say Rahman was in GOOD shape ... But you state that Douglas was in EXCELLENT shape for the Tyson fight.
You also make a big point that Tyson never trained for the Douglas fight, The exact same can be said about Lewis because 2 weeks before the fight Lewis was still on a film set of oceans 11 mixing it up with movie stars, he also weighed in his heaviest ever for that fight at that time in his career. The fight was also in south africa where you really need to have 5 weeks at least to climatetise, Lewis had less than 2 week !!

Lennox Lewis suffered 2 fast counts in his career.
The average time for a 10 count is about 17 seconds. The one against McCall Lennox had 9.4 and the one against Rahman was 9.6 or something similiar
He always had it against him
