Margarito Cintron Rematch signed as undercard for Cotto Gomez

A repeat of there 1st fight except it goes 7 rounds this time.

Zab wasn't happy with the money being offered. I'm very very nervous for this fight. Cintron will be motivated and I'm worried Margarito won't be as focused because he has beaten Cintron before. Heck,would you be as focused after you beat a guy,made him cry and know you are fighting him again.

He needs to win and I think he will,in 10,with some dodgy moments on the way.Then he'll KTFO Cotto and then he'll rematch and beat Clottey (who is the mandatory for Cintron at the moment) and then he'll be the best WW on the planet because Floyd will be too busy fighting Oscar for the 6th time rather than fighting LEGIT WW's and Williams,well,um,hopefully he'll be at 154 by then! ;D ;D

nice 1 for the news guys ive gotta hold my hands up and say i was wrong about Cintron was in the group slating him for calling every man and there dog out after he pulled out of fighting p will, but fair play if hes fighting marg, Cotto should fight the winner assuming he beats Gomez. ;)

This fight will be an exact duplicate of the 1st one. It might go 6; but if you thought Cintron got beaten badly and embarassed the 1st go round', wait for Part II ;) This won't even be a fight; more like criminal assault :lickish:

I will say this though; fair play and props to Kermit for actually doing this.

Yeah Pw probably is feeling left out. Once Margarito takes Cintron's trinket; I'm sure PW will look more for a rematch with Tony, and I'm sure Tony would love to try and avenge that loss to him.

Clottey will probably wind up the IBF chap without having to fight for it. The winner of Marg-Cintron probably gets the next crack at Cotto, and I imagine the IBF will strip the belt at that point.

Cintron is a different boxer these days than when he fought Margarito the first time. If Cintron can keep his head together and show a strong will to survive, then he has a great chance at avenging his only loss as a professional. Cintron clearly has intriguing skills at 147 (the BEST power punch in the division, one of the best jabs, and one of the best left hooks). Admittedly, Cintron's MINDSET is not one of the best in the division, as he has proven during the first fight with Margarito and somewhat against Feliciano. Cintron has a lot to prove mentally, but to me not much physically. I would love to see two Ricans go at it (Cotto-Cintron), so I will be rooting for both!

That's great news. It will be an awsome card. I'm sure Cintron will put up a better fight and Margarito should be plenty focus since it means puting a belt around his weist. A sensation I am sure he misses.

It is great to see this news!!! This was a rematch I really wanted to see and honestly was not expecting this fast. This boxing card should be great, it will have four warriors, I don't expect too much running. :jabbing: I believe the result may depend on how good Kermit could recover psychologically after his lost to Margarito, and the effect in his mind when Margarito touches him.

This is definitely a much more important fight than Margarito v. Zab, but the winner of this fight should not be first in line for Cotto. Williams should. Let the undefeated fighters fight each other. Margarito-Cintron is the losers' bracket.

WTF,who hates wettsy-betsy Cintron this much to do this to him??You do have to ask exactly how motivated can Margarito be for a rematch against Cintron whom he's already dominated and destroyed.Is there chance of a "let-down"?

Cintron is a much improved fighter as of late....Cough.New training,New found dedication to self and Career,better boxing technique......cough

He'll cry even harder,fall to those knee's with even more conviction,he'll show what a real pro is when he's even more open to upperhooks and wilts even more convincingly this time. ;D

Honestly,I think Cintron will bring it.He overthinks s!!!.This will be a good fight,not a total blow out but I think Margarito is inside of Cintrons head.Cintron will see ghost's but he will go out on his shield.That type of brutal beat down can haunt a fighter for a very long time and this one will be even more mental than Physical Imo.

:-X :-X,Surprise but I like Margarito over Cotto as well,In a weird way Maragrito has to get out of the box faster against opponents but in this one I think he would have to temper his Aggression.Cotto can cause headaches and showed verygood diversity in mosley fight but i think Tony's range ,multiple Arsenal (especially underneath on Cotto) and mentality would result in a win.
In a match up of power I'll take Margarito as well as chins,Dude is a finisher!.......But Cotto KILLS with digging bodyshots and if you come to him you will catch plenty....really developing a following of Cotto but on this one, I'll say Maragrito.
Hey,I'd love see this fight but first Cintron (dont respect him at this point but is extremely dangerous as well as Mentally tipsy ) and Gomez for Cotto.I dont think Gomez will be the lamd led to slaughter some say,will have moments but ultimately Cotto will break him down and end it with bodywork around 8th.Solid fights all around

I give Cintron a far better shot than most here. He is a much better fighter than he was the first go round, and he has the power to take ANY man at 147 out with one punch. He isa very live dog in this fight.

I do think Kermit will fare better this time than the last. And I begrudgingly admit that I was overly harsh on him,calling him a coward etc but he has the guts to face Tony again,so he's not that big a coward. Kudos to him for stepping up and trying to avenge his loss.

Am i right in assuming this is for the IBF title? Can't see any other reason Margarito would be fighting him again.

The winner of this fight gets a shot at the winner of Cotto v Gomez,which is the main event on the same card.

What about Clottey then?

If he is the mandatory for the IBF strap what happens to him? He will either have to take another risk in a stay busy fight or wait until later in the year. Who is his manager/ promoter? They should work something out for him.

Williams is already set to fight Quintana....
It does however appear that Clottey will have to take a stay busy fight....
Who knows depending on the WBO we might see Margarito vs. Clottey II before we get Margarito vs. Cotto.... :-\

Being a Ghanian raised in the UK I would rather he fought Cintron.

Margorito will beat him again although it would be interesting to see what Clottey can do with his hand OK. I think PW will be too busy for him and outbox him.

I am not saying he would win but I see his best chance against Cintron as Clottey has a nice tight defence and will not get caught by too many Cintron bombs. Clottey could outwork and demotivate Cintron.
