If Pavlik doesn't go to the body he is going to be in for a very hard nights work, but if he does i fancy him to win, remember when Vargas when to the body he had great success against Wright. I also think Wright will struggle with Pavlik's power because remember Taylor's power did bother Wright. Overall if Pavlik uses right tactics he should stop Wright late in the fight.Quote:

Pavlik is not only strong and big but is also a big volume puncher.
I will go with Pavlik by close UD as he has a great beard and little to fear from Wright so he can just keep throwing punches like he does untill he finally gets through.
EDIT: I think he will beat Wright by out working him but not necesarilly by out punching him. Wright is probably on the slide by now and Pavlik is still young and strong.
At the moment Winky is an unknown quantity. He looked awful against Hopkins, but that may have been the added weight.
I'll have to see Wright fight again before I have a basis for judgement.
I think that with his inactivity and age as well as the beating he recieved at the hands of Hopkins, Wright's time may be coming to an end. Just my opinion, Pavlik by late stoppage.
I think Wright would win but barely :P
wright was good a few years ago but has made a name in boxing by being avoided, he hasnt got a granite chin as Julio Cesar Vasquez proved, he cant handle the bigger weights power and strength and goes in to his shell and I reckon hes a bit long in the tooth to be getting back down to light middle and be effective.
Pavlik would hurt him
Depends on how Winky came into the fight.....If he came in with the all defense game plan I give it to Kelly based on nothing but work rate....If Wright comes in some what his oldself I give it to Winky....I do not see a KO though
Pavlik has much better things to do than fight Wright, to tell you the truth. I see more exciting fights against Hopkins, Kessler, Calzaghe, Miranda, even Roy Jones. A fight with Wright would be a snoozer.
It has to be Wright for me... He is too quick for Pavlik, and he will beat him to the punch every time, both throw in high volume when they fight guys who don't move, but Wright IMO would wear Pavlik down latter on, and he wouldn't be able to take Pavlik out, but the longer the fight goes the more onesided it gets... I think believe Wright has the recipe for these big punchers who need to fight in the straight lines.
Kelly is a buzzsaw that will not take a backward step like Taylor did... Pavlik will push Winky backward allnite firing 1 2's down the middle.. I like Winky and think his defense is tops but Pavlik is an undeterred animal who will relentlessly come after him
Winky is 5'10 1/2 with a 72 in reach/ Pavlik 6'2 75 in reach... Pavlik hits to hard not to crack through Winky's guard, Wink gives way to much up physically to win at this juncture :-\
At this stage Pavlik would win.. easily.
Wright would have his usual brigade crying robbery though. Fact.

I voted for Wright...but it'd be a split decision, IWHO.
Wright's got too good of a defense & he's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to skilled for Pavlik.
I love KP & all that...but Wright's a HOF'er & Pavlik is still unproven against marquee talent.
If Wright can Old school off the backfoot regardless of size as opposed to walk forward Immitation Slugger,He can exploit Pavliks second thought Defense.
ANd I had him wiing that fight vs Bhop by 1 roundQuote:

Pavlik via stoppage. Too big,way way too strong and relentless. And as the JT fight showed, you need more than ajab too keep him off. Anyone who stands directly in front of Kelly Pavlik at 160 is getting knocked out. Winky is no exception.
His rangy jab and right hand are going to bust Winky's arms. He has awesome body shots and he can get the uppercut through Wright's guard. I just don't see how Wright is going to be able to stand there for 12 rounds and block allllll of Kelly's bombs. No way. Taylor stunned Winky a few times and was backing him up even when Winky was blocking,Pavlik hits harder than JT and there are more coming.
No doubt in my mind whatsoever,Kelly beats the heck out of Wright and wins via stoppage or wide UD.
Finally we agree, Cool Click. Good points.Quote:

Winky could easily clean up 154,but he can't make weight. And there are not alot of big fights there. Spinks,Forrest would be decent,Alcine,Simms,Santos,he doesn't want to and is not going to fight guys like that so I don't think, even if he could make the weight, that he would come back.
I understand Gamo.Quote:

The reason I enquired is I wonder too with Judah tesing the waters, will we see an influx of 147 fighters into the jr Midles? Paul Willams will end up there for sure, Margarito would be quite succesful too....Do they represent potential future fights?
Well WInky is old now,and like I've said before,he made the foolish move of going to 170 to fight B Hop. He probably finds t hard to shift the weight as easily as he could before and I know Wright does weights. Well, some of the 14 pounders will move to 154 eventually but certainly no any time soon. Why should they:147 is blossoming and there are plenty of big fights there. Williams will one day outgrow the division as will Tony. Cintron is a big 147 pounder,Zab I don't think will stay at 54 permanently and I think one day,in 2-3 years,Cotto will be at 154 too. It's a long way away yet though.Just my opinion of ourse.Quote:

As for Winky, well I've always known he was a natural fighter and fought where he felt comfortable, but I feel 154 is not out of the question for him even in this advanced stage of his career, proper training and nutrition should allow him to make it.
Pavlik ends it under 7 rounds. Wright retires.
Wright by wide UD. Already have a sig bet on the nod.
