Yes, I see marked improvement. I think Junior's finally ready for opponents with a pulse now.
he wants hector camacho jr now
of course he does (LOL)..... wouldn't expect anything else.
It was a good fight and a good win for Chavez.
I think Chavez, Jr was exposed a little bit tonight. He showed horrible defense blocking many punches with his head. I'm a fan of Chavez, Jr but that defense is going to have to get a lot better. There's obviously a lot of power there but when he steps up in class there could be some trouble. World class fighters would of destroyed him tonight.
it almost looked more like he just didnt give a fuck about getting hit, but he did start to look lost at one point
Thanks for putting the result in the title.
Why do people keep doing this? I had this taped on SKY plus and was going to watch it later on!
You done it with the Williams result too:p
Could you please put 'spoiler' in the title buddy:(minus the words 'wins' or 'loses'
Good win for Chavez but he's had almost 40 fights how and needs more quality opposition
I think the strategy is: Let's pad the record to 100-0... THEN let's start to challenge the big boys. Hey... dad AND son with 100 wins? What better legacy than that?
;)
Didn't see it, but pretty surprised to hear he had some trouble with Celaya, doesn't sound good really although I'll have to see it to know for sure.
Growing so tired of hearing about Chavez Jr ( Daniel San, Karate Kid look a like) who is living off his fathers name knocking out another boy off of some farm in texas that is half his size. Please... Please... fight somebody who ive heard of and just get KO'd. I have nothin against the kid but hes just not very good.
35 fights and he's still fighting no hopers. It'll be another 35 before they let him in with a belt holder. If he wasn't his father's son we'd never have heard of him.
Also, JCC junior junior is the spottiest boxer ever.
If you like your fighters protected......Chavez jr is the fighter for you :p
I don't, so I would rather see him ktfo then take on 30 more bums ;)
I think he deserves a break. He had no amateur career so he's compensating now, whats wrong with that?
Well Puya, I feel that people are not obligated to buy the fight so we really can't complain about that.
However, some feel obliged to pay to see the development of a young boxer and hope to see him replicate his father's career....Should he manage it they will feel rewarded, should he fail they will have watched all his fights and no why.
LOL I gave you a good rep and this message appear. looks like you already gave me bad rep ;D
No Puya mate I never gave you bad rep or SC's man!
Just to prove it and because I love ur sig pic, here's some good rep.
Sounds like Jose Celaya did alright then.
I told you fuckers he wasn't trash. The kid can fight.
People keep forgetting that Chavez and Chavez Jr had no amateur career whatsoever. If we add the typical amateur career (more than 100 fights normally) plus the pro fights to get them for a championship fight it will be around 130 fights. Well, do the math and don't you think its something to respect that a guy with only, say, 30 or 40 fights EVER goes for a belt? Get ANY amateur out there with barely 30 something fights in the ring with any pro and lets see how they do.
Still, Chavez is a Hall of Famer for a reason. Without an amateur career and look at his accomplishments.
Celaya did well and was winning the fight IMO up until the KO and he was landing some good flush shots on Chavez Jr throughout and was a good test for Chavez Jr.
What a spoiled shit...I hate to ruin your guy's little JCC jr. thread but the truth is the kid already lost in Mexico(Carlos molina), and had the decision reversed to a draw. The place he fought was very close to his hometown...go figure. I'll tune into his career when he fights a real fighter, no disrespect to the guys he's fought but there is no way these fights should be PPV. Celaya is o.k. but c'mon theres plenty of better options out there.
the next Yory Boy Campas.
Im not sure that his opponents arent payed to fall down.
I can imagine people were complaining about Chavez Sr. as well even though he didn't have an amateur career as well. People saying "Just watch what will happen if he goes for the title, he'll be totally exposed and destroyed". And what happened? Chavez won six world titles in three weight divisions got knocked down for his first time ever on his 89th fight. He holds records for most successful defenses of world titles (27) and most title fights (37). A very shocking moment in boxing where commentators, experts, fans, etc. could be heard gasp.
Chavez, hall of famer and legend in boxing history for good reasons. Not sure if Chavez Jr. can get there as well. Wish him the best.
Well I just enjoyed watching the fight. Both guys cut, some good shots i had guzzled 100 beers - to me it was great.
