Have him face Oscar far from his prime just like Oscar did with JCC, yep, sounds interesting.
Jrs. actually said in interviews he'd like to one day fight ODLH.
I like the kid and I'm a fan buuuuuuuuut......
I laugh cause ODLH would punch his ass back to Culiacan.
;D
If JCC jr faced De La Hoya right now, Chavez Jr would get KTFO. I think Chavez, Jr showed tonight he needs a lot more work until he's fighting uper level competition.
By the time JCC Jr. starts fighting real opposition, Oscar will be getting his AARP card.
JCC senior would have more chance against Oscar than his son does.
I know;D
But seriously he would get beat up bad against the Old faded OSCAR.
It's time like someone said that this kid start to fight guys with a pulse.
He has already 30 something fights .....WOOT? Fuck put him up with Mayorga, Mosley, MArgo, Cotto, Floyd. sadly he will end up dead or ALI.
ODLH will never fight JCC Jr. Mexicans pretty much hate him anyways for embarrasing a past-prime JCC who had too much heart to realize that he was just too old and for running against Trinidad. ODLH is mainstream but he's always wanted the adoration of the harcore Mexican faithful and fighting JCC Jr and winning would make him reviled. Plus, while JCC Jr. is still a little wet behind the ears and really would be an underdog, I don't think Oscar wants any of that body work.
I think JCC Jr is a knock out waiting to happen. It is not just his last fight, but pretty much every fight he is getting hit way too often. He has inherited the gift of a granit chin from his father and that along with his power has saved him so far.
As soon as he faces a top contender he will get his ass knocked out cold.
Something that many fail to remember is that JCC Jr. has NO AMATEUR CAREER. What we are seeing pretty much is a young amateur with only 30 something fights getting in the ring with pros who typically have more than 100 fights (amateur) plus their pro fights. Come on guys, he's not THAT BAD.
There's a reason he didn't have an amateur career. He'd have a record such that you'd be unable to convincingly build him into a professional prospect and have him top the bill to sell out houses on a PPV card in his 35th fight against a no hoper. Miss out the amateur career however and you have a little gold mine.
He's got no chance against anybody good. And he was diabolical facing a southpaw for his first time. Against a world class southpaw he'd get massacred. Cory Spinks would beat him like a gong.
If he had an amateur career he would definitely be fighting a more challenging opposition. This is his 30+ fight EVER.
If he faces someone with a big name and wins I guess he would prove way more since he had no amateur career.
Funnily enough i just watch Oscar-JCC 1 and 2 before coming to work and they were a bit embarrasing. In the first fight Oscar opens a pretty brutal cut with a jab,and just bloodies him up and for a double dose of embarasment makes JCC quite on his stool after bloodying up his mouth in the second.Yeah JCC Jr beating Oscar would be a real sweet taste of revenge.Wont ever happen but nice to think eh.
Im sure the guys that Chavez Jr. is fighting don't have any amatuer backgrounds either!
Amatuer career can be overrated...and in his case, the lack of it is an excuse to keep fighting potatoe sacks.
Anyways, Im sure JCC Jr. had boxing gloves on his hands before he could walk
Wow! Some people just don't like the Chavez family, eh? Hhhhmmmm considered one of the greatest fighters in boxing history winning six world titles in three divisions. Defended his titles for quite a while. Going undefeated for more than 89 bouts. Never ever being knocked down until his 89th bout. No wonder commentators, boxing experts, etc. gasped when they saw Chavez down for the first time ever. Sure, there are good boxers out there, but Chavez is not THAT bad. I guess you don't agree with him having the status he has in boxing history, right?
wont ever happen as oscar will probably be 6ft under by the time chavez jr stops fighting these bums
Interesting how even though Chavez Sr. eventhough he didn't face a belt-holder on his 10th career fight he still is the recognized legend in boxing history for the accomplishments I already mentioned and more. Some other guys may face a belt-holder early in their career and still they are not as recognized.
That's a big possibility.
Julio Cesar Chavez holds records for most successful defenses of world titles (27) and most title fights (37). Won 6 world titles in 3 weight divisions. Ranked by ESPN as the 17th greatest boxer in history. Hall of Famer. Knocked down until his 89th fight. Etc .etc. etc. All that still doesn't convince you, eh? Oh well.
I could agree in one way or the other with all the people that don't like Chavez (which are quite a lot of boxing fans) if the first time he fought a big name got totally dominated but nope, he got rid of them the same way he got rid of the other not-so-well-known boxers and get to the point of being one of the greatest in boxing history.
Yep, Chavez Sr. was past his prime of course. JCC Jr would need to wait for Oscar to start fading just like Oscar waited for Chavez and go for it. I don't see it happening either as much as I like the Chavez.Quote:
No not at all.But Oscar did put a some beatdown on him didn't he, far from "prime" of course, but highlights how good it would be for JCC Jr to spank Oscar, wich wont happen will it.
yeah i agree i really hate when casual boxing fans believe oscar defeated a prime real deal jcc.
i mean in their primes jcc would have tko'd a prime oscar IMO!
he prob would win if thet fought in 2 years time, just like oscar beat his dad............ then that would prob get his dad thinking he can beat oscar to and he'll start talking of a comeback
i wonder what weight JCC is walking around at these days surely hes not walking around with DURAN RETIRED weight hopefully;D
not really, JCC beat mexican roadsweepers all his career . It was about time a younger, stronger, more attractive, faster, fitter and more marketable fighter beat him.
Its just evolution in the sport
Do you even know who Chavez beat? Ya he had a lot of wins that weren't aginst the elite. But he had many fights against boxing's top guys at his weight class. Did anyone ever say Chavez was ducking anyone during his career? Plain and simple Chavez was one great fighter. I hope his son can develop some damn defense.
Karas,
Are you sure he only fought roadsweepers?
Chavez holds records for most successful defenses of world titles (27) and most title fights (37). Ranked by ESPN as the 17th greatest boxer in history. 6 world titles in 3 different weight divisions. Dropped until his 89th fight. Do you think someone that only fights roadsweepers ends up being a hall of famer and one of the greatest in boxing history?
Jr. better wait a while. A loooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnngggggg while. We're talking like the end of 09 at the very earliest. Any sooner and he'll be knocked out in quick and brutal fashion.
