Floyd Mayweather to Compete at WrestleMania 24

Thats pretty stupid.
Just as Mayweather earns a bit of respect from me for beating Hatton the way he did and then he goes and does this!
Yeah that is rather absurd.
Still, if it has been a dream of his since childhood or something like that then I sorta understand. He is stinkin' rich and young so do what makes you happy I suppose...
If you get hurt in Wrestlemania than you have the excuse you've been searching for, right?
HaHa...I like it...Come on PBF slam the Big Show...
Who has done it so far?
I remember Tyson was going to be a ref. but lost to Buster Douglas and Buster ended up doing that.
Tyson later on appeared in the ring with Stone Cold.
ali and wepner have both been in the ring with wrestlers for a wwf event.
holyfield i think:confused:
tyson
douglas
prob a few more too
Evander Holyfield appeared in WWE recently .
Lewis did it
Tyson did it
Ali did it
( the greatest heavyweights ever basically )
Moorer did it
Butterbean did it
Pazienza did it
Spinks did it
Probably afew more too
Man you people that say you lost respect for him, you're crazy. This is a great oppertunity for him to take yet another step towards making himself a household name. Wrestlemania is like the superbowl of pro wrestling, he's going to introduce himself to a LARGE group of people, just like he did with Dancing with the Stars. And if people know who Floyd mayweather is, they're going to show more interest in seeing him fight.
I agree...good opportunity for him to get his name out there to the non-hardcore fans. Anything that gets more people to watch boxing, in my opinion, is a good thing.
Floyd hit the big slow and then ran like the wind
;D

That was funny
;D
BTW this is not my video and thus it was not titled by me.
careful mayweather remember your hands are hurt. LOL ;D
LOL OMG
Good publicity this guy culd be huger than delahoya if he continues like this.
Maybe he'll turn out to be another Primo Carnera.
Good for him having his fingers in different pies
i hear hes taking on the winner of this matchup....

Good post, glad to see someone here gets it. Right now, Floyd is doing a ton of stuff to market himself to a wider audience. Dancing with the Stars, playing in the celeb game at the NBA all-star weekend, now Wrestlemania.
This is all done because the more people know him, the more marketable he is as a fighter. If going on Wrestlemania gets some wrestling fans to order his next fight, then why would anyone here have a problem with that? The more people watching boxing, the better.
Give Floyd credit for marketing himself, unlike someone like Roy Jones, who spent his whole career blowing people off and therefore never achieving mainstream popularity.
At least today Its looked upon as an oppurtunity, Louis wrestled ....for all of the f!!!!! up wrong reasons. Damn Fed's !
Floyd talks alot but He Is a smart buisness man.Great set-up marketing.Mcmahons no dummy either.
Look at Floyd acting ;D;D right now.Surprised Floyd would risk his hands ,I think It was that last L.Hook right on the end. Floyd go's comic book on us Lol.
The Big Show looked seriously pissed off! I don't think PBF was supposed to connect as well as he did!
No doubt...That left looked like an extra. Floyd tucked last two fingers on right and Big Slow basically rolled with them up until the Left hook...POW.
:o
Honestly Imo, Having a rematch with Delahoya Is Bad enough...Now we sit through this 'Hype up'.NO WAY Floyd will take physical "falls" from Big Slow,Way to much to risk.
i didnt see it but from what i read it seems like mayweather just doesnt know how to work a punch and for some reason threw it to the nose and broke big shows nose, they probably told him to make contact and make it look good, but i guess he didnt think to keep away from the nose
Lol the old fake blood capsules...I remember seeing bloody fights in wrestling when I was a kid where the guys face was covered in red, but for the life of me I couldnt find any cuts or gashes on them.....they always bled out of their hairlines.....
its too make him more popular
Lol... come on Sal... ;)
He did actually brake his nose lol
A funny, interesting sidenote.....the wrestler Big Show who before this had been out of wrestling for a few months and during that time was rumoured to be wanting to make a career in boxing then, presumably deciding against it,returns and then gets his nose broken by Mayweather who's 5'8 and 150 lbs and there's Big Show...7'0 and 400lbs ish.....haha
I agree, I think people are missing the point that this is all about publicity.
Wrestling fans also must purchase tickets or buy a PPV to watch the biggest events, just like in boxing. Introduce them to Mayweather, and you now have a group of people who are willing to shell out $50-$60 on a PPV that are now interested in PBF.
I have no interest in WWE/WWF whatever it is. But I'm interested to see how the Mayweather thing plays out. So wrestling gets cross over appeal too.
Blading (professional wrestling) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quote:
In professional wrestling, blading is the practice of cutting oneself to provoke bleeding.[1] It is also known as juicing, gigging, or drawing color.[1] Similarly, a blade is an object used for blading, and a bladejob is a specific act of blading. The blood in pro wrestling is almost never, as often suspected, theatrical makeup, but actual blood, and the scars borne by longtime pro wrestlers are real ones.[2] The act is usually done a good length into the match as the blood will mix with the flowing sweat to make the wound look like much more blood is flowing from it than there actually is.
Blading has been common in wrestling for about 80 years. fake blood will be used it backstage taped parts of the show where it can be applied without anyone noticing, in front of a crowd it's none with a razor blade, usually within the hairline or the top of the forehead where the scars won't be so noticeable. Of course, there are exceptions, see Steve Corino. Lots of blood capsules in that mans past.
Dan Rafael of ESPN.com talked about this in his blog yesterday, and I chuckled when I read this line.
;DQuote:
"If Mayweather is cool with fighting a mountain of a man like Show, why does he keep running from a man his own size, Miguel Cotto?"
Dan Rafael, ESPN.com
I hope he stays there. That's where he belongs where it's cool being fake.
